  1. another option to consider before you go the HT route - is whether you can be happy without a hair transplant. I know its not a common response, but I find people don't give it enough thought before jumping into a strategy that is permanent, no matter the result, and often requires future surgeries to keep up. If I hadn't gotten nervous when I was in my 20's and gotten a HT, I would not have had to have repairs and further surgeries 2 decades later. I look back now and think the best thing I could have done was just wear my hair short as you are doing now and accept going bald as part of the aging process. Maybe I would have gotten on meds to help slow it down, etc. or looked into nutrition more. Just a thought for you to consider, because as I said before, once you start down the HT journey, it usually is a lifetime commitment. Best of luck to you.
  2. if you believe that you can't trust your doctor's own graft count sheet, you probably shouldn't be getting surgery because you're putting way more at risk in the hands of that surgeon than simply if he/she cheats you out of a few hundred grafts - at the end of the day we are all taking a leap of faith with surgery, albeit a calculated risk, but I tend to believe the vast majority of doctors are ethical and honest to their patients - the bad ones ultimately weed themselves out with their bad behavior
  3. go with a top notch doctor to do an FUT complete frontal zone repair and restoration (3300-3800 grafts), the hairline does not look too low so I assume they'll just be looking to add density and further enhance it, if I were you, don't touch the crown at this point and get on meds and minoxidil, once the frontal zone is repaired and you can grow out your hair, the strip scar is essentially camouflaged and I think you'll be very happy, otherwise just do SMP into the strip scar, dont waste any grafts trying to conceal it even body/beard - I believe that's your best most efficient option - your case should not be that difficult in the hands of a good surgeon, get multiple opinions thru consults - I'd suggest the following: Rahal, H&W, Cooley, Shapiro, Gabel, and of course Konior if you can wait.
  4. Whether you choose to go to H&W or Rahal, based on your degree of hair loss, you'll need at least 2 surgeries - restoration of the frontal zone in phase I and midscalp/crown in phase II - if you elect to even address your crown. Go with a conservative hairline that will suit you in the future as you age or continue to lose native hair. Best of luck to you ..
  5. Both are top notch doctors with stellar reputations, both do mega-sessions, however they each may recommend different approaches to address your specific hair loss pattern. They have both been pioneers in the business with outstanding results for their patients. You should have separate consultations with both, either in person or with pics or Skype, and determine on your own, which is the best for your specific situation. Diffuse loss is not always best tackled in one session and may require another or multiple surgeries. Without any pics of your hair loss, we can't tell.
  6. sorry about your situation, you do seem to have poor growth from both Dr. Wong and your last surgeon, however when you style your hair you look perfectly fine, before doing anything else I would definitely try to get to the root cause of your problem, it could be physiology, it could be your post op care of the grafts, etc.I hope you find a solution that can help you rectify the problem.
  7. I wholeheartedly agree with you about Rahal, I believe he is training other doctors, at least during my surgery he had another female doctor in the OR that he introduced me to who was there just to observe - surgical skill is key but let's hope he can pass on some of his artistry as well, I think that's what differentiates him from his peers
  8. great write up, and love your Q&A with Dr. Hasson! nothing better than an informed patient as you obviously are - heal and grow well
  9. my personal preference of who's the better HT surgeon based on documented results - overall skill and artistry if I had to choose just between those 2 doctors - I would select Dr. Hasson every time
  10. I've had a consult with him in NYC when he visits, but no official office/medical presence here. I traveled to Ottawa under 2 hours flight time, no issues
  11. if that were your final result, it would still be amazing - its gonna look even better with more growth, maturity and density. congrats!
  12. good luck to you, work looks great, all grafts within your existing hairline will make the result look super-natural !
