In my opinion, the hairline design was overly aggressive and should have been much more conservative for your level of hair loss. I think the amount of grafts extracted would have been better utilized and packed denser in a smaller frontal zone with some natural, age appropriate recession. Best of luck on a 2nd procedure.

I don't know if its just me noticing HT scars or if a tide has turned on the stigma about them, but I work in NYC and see way many more guys who have just completely shaved their head and are sporting a linear FUT scar on the back of their head without any worries. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, and when you get to a point where you really don't care about what others think, that's real freedom. There is no need to be ashamed of our scars - its a part of who we are, our struggle, journey, etc.

I don't think you should worry at all for a one time deal, maybe if it was a daily thing over an extended period of time it may have some adverse effect, but you're fine man! best of luck and heal well.

i think any hair you have up front will eventually be lost as its sparse and you have miniaturization going on, your priority should not be the crown but a conservative hairline up front to frame your face, that would be the biggest cosmetic improvement if you're going to thru the process at all, otherwise I would say just keep your hair shaved/short and you eliminate the need for surgery all together.

Pics are not that clear, but you look like a NW6 requiring extensive restoration of your entire frontal zone, midscalp vertex and crown. - if that can even be achieved with your donor. Like you, I also had extensive hair loss, and went thru 3 seperate FUE procedures focusing on the frontal zone and midscalp. I had a total of 4500-5k grafts WITHOUT touching my crown . And I dont have anywhere near the type of density you're talking about. Get a few consults with good docs, send in clear pics or do some Skype/Facetime consults. Ethical and reputable doctors will be realistic about what is possible -

LOL, alcohol, drugs and smoking cause things like dehydration in your body overall & poor blood flow - just obvious factors that could adversely affect graft survival and growth - just because grafts are permanently embedded does not guarantee they'll grow if not cared for properly post op

because as I stated in my earlier comment to you, I was naive and uninformed about the continuous and progressive nature of hair loss, having gotten grafts in my receding hairline, I thought I had solved my problem, in fact over the year sI continued to lose native hair, which left me with a pluggy hairline and no hair behind it - you need to view hair restoration as a long term process, keeping in mind your donor is limited and therefore needs to be managed properly - you won't want to be the bald guy in the 30's, 40's and 50's either

I would not jump into a HT at your age - even though I did! and it was the biggest mistake of my life. I understand the frustration, fear and even confusion that comes with hair loss. Wait until your early 30's to see where your NW pattern is going and you will have a better overall idea of where to start and end with your restoration process - because, believe me its not a "one and done" deal. You can then determine if you should go conservative with your hairline or whether you can be more aggressive taking into consideration donor management for future surgeries as your hair loss progresses - and it will. Just my opinion from my past experience, but good luck to you. And by the way, as a Rahal patient, I can highly recommend him and his clinic, but others mentioned here are equally as ethical and talented, Konior, Hasson, Wong, Shapiro, Cooley, Gable - and others. Take your time, become fully knowledgeable about the entire process, research, research, research. This is a great forum for all of that.

I would suggest waiting until your 30's to see how your hair loss patterns develops. Yes you have temple recession, but your hair looks great and you won't be able to replicate your natural density. Stay on the meds and a healthy regiment, it looks like its working for you. Good luck

both doctors mentioned are excellent and will probably advise you of the dangers of going with an "aggressive" hairline - you're 25 now and you will continue to lose native hair - you need to think about how that aggressive hairline will fare when you're 35, 45 and 50 - there is something to be said about being "conservative" and taking into account donor management etc. for inevitable future surgeries

your hairline already looks "perfectly" natural - night and day improvement over where you started, I don't think you would gain any noticeable benefit from another surgery - we are all seeking more density everywhere! don't act on the hair greed

I would consult with multiple top docs to get their opinion on how they'd repair your case. Will some plugs need to be excised and redistributed? Can the hairline be softened simply by camouflaging the plugs with single hair grafts up front? Every doctor may suggest a different strategy, therefore different cost. Go with the one you feel most comfortable with and will give you the result you're looking for. it takes longer than 3 days for your grafts to be secure or permanently healed in your recipient zone - a minimum of 10-12 days from most doctor's post-op instructions or literature I've read - and the reason most docs tell you to wait a month after your procedure before your exercise (vigorously) is so you can properly heal from the trauma to your scalp, in an attempt to give you the optimal conditions for a successful result - could you technically exercise after 2 weeks, probably yes, I would say just don't overdo it

again, because Rahal was doing FUE and H&W were not at that time in 2014 -

I was going to go with Dr. Wong in 2014 before H&W was doing FUE - instead went with Rahal who was already doing FUE at that time. You undoubtedly chose an excellent surgeon - good luck on your journey, should be exciting!

for me, even having a "thinning" look after my hair transplants is way better than where I started - which was near complete baldness - therefore while I could achieve a denser look with products such as hair fibers, etc... I really don't want the extra hassle or fuss. In fact, just being able to shampoo, towel dry and add some gel and be out the door is an exhilarating freedom from the exhaustive time previously spent trying to cover up my baldness from comb-overs, hairsprays, etc. My HTs, while definitely an illusion of coverage, have given me a great relief, and that's what I'm appreciative of most.
