I’m with you - more mature, age appropriate hairline with good density is always more natural looking and aesthetically pleasing than a lower hairline with sparser coverage. Unfortunately, most seem to prioritize the lowest hairline they can get without being cognizant of the limited donor supply.

when I did my 1st FUE surgery in 2014, I was terrified of having my entire head shaved, had never even worn my hair short, always rather long to conceal balding, but to be honest, after I got home, it was so liberating and refreshing, shower in and out, towel dry head, no styling fuss and out the door, I thought to myself I should have just tried this before getting a HT ! and I didn't look as bad as I thought I would either

So I've had a few HT's over the years and nearly everything I have on top is from that. I was definitely a NW 5-6 and was pretty bald so I'm very happy and grateful to have had HT's to give me the appearance of a conservative hairline for a 50 year old guy. Don't know if its from the lockdown situations, having had COVID, or what, but lately I've become more hyper sensitive toward noticing hairs that I lose while styling after a shower. It's nothing intense, there's nothing clogging up the shower drain, or a ton of hairs in the brush, its maybe 4-5 hairs at most, that I notice. Sometimes its daily for several days, and other somedays I don't notice anything at all for a couple of days. I'm not on any hair loss medication, but I do use Minox foam 1xdaily in the AM after showering. Could I be using too much? Could this be a normal shed cycle of hairs? I also alternate between Nizoral and Pura d'or Original Gold Label shampoos - one day Nizoral the next day Pura d'or and so on Let me know what experiences you guys may have, any ideas, input, etc. Thanks.

My suggestion would be not to simply lower and camouflage the hairline, but I believe you need to remove improperly placed or pluggy grafts via FUE, and recreate a more refined and feathered hairline. I saw a few Bisagna repair cases on here where that was done and his work was meticulous. Best of luck

when you look from your starting point and put it in perspective, its an awesome transformation, any result could be better or be improved - i just did a small FUE for some spots on my hairline that bothered me everytime I looked in the mirror! if you do another crown pass, you will be making yourself happier which is all that matters, otherwise, overall your hair looks great. best of luck

what was the FUE extraction method used? artas robot? manual? motorized? if you had done even some preliminary research on this forum, I think you would have been warned about bosley immediately

any HT requires a hair length and even layering to look fuller/denser, I think Melvin is just suggesting as your result comes it, will look better if you let it grow out as it will be a better WOW factor, you should be in for a great result, I really like the conservative hairline design - I also use Minox foam in the morning, applied right after my shower and hair still wet, should be no problem - best of luck growing!

I had the same concern before my FUE HT, shaving my entire head - as required by my doctor. I had never shaved my head before and I worried about what I would look like or what others would think and say. From my experience, let me tell you the anxiety and fear is greater than the reality. First, its best to shave your head for the procedure so the doctor has a clean slate to work with, from donor extraction and to make recipient site incisions - especially if he/she will be working around some native hair, you don't want to risk transection of those existing follicles. So yes, its better overall for the doctor performing the procedure. Second, I found it was easier to clean your head post-op, showering the affected areas, and simply air-drying. And last, I found it was surprisingly very liberating not to have to worry about styling my hair, concealing bald spots, etc. I looked alot better than I thought I would. Going outside, I just wore my baseball cap alot more. Going back to work several weeks later, there was absolutely no signs of surgery. People initially noticed and remarked about the very short hair, and everyone moved on. People don't care as much as we think they do. We are more self-conscious. People have their own worries, concerns and priorities - believe me they don't worry about our hair. So I hope this experience helps with your decision.

very impressive for only 5.5 months - congrats! you have another 12 months of maturation, density and improvement, especially in the crown. But I really like the age appropriate hairline with a bit of natural recession - it will serve you well over time. I see so many overly aggressive, low hairlines that scream HAIR-TRANSPLANT, its really sad. Compliments to you and whoever your doctor was. Best wishes on your continued growth.

this is exactly how well . known docs do large FUE cases, I had 2 FUE's with Rahal, and it was exactly as you stated above, he is the director and quality control, drew all lines, etc. his techs did the tedious work of extractions and implantation, he did hairline design, incisions, etc.
