Advice for Hair Loss Sufferers Considering Hair Transplant Surgery

My Story

  1. A patient asked me if this rice soap was for real in what it claimed. I noticed the growth they present would have been really super fast seeing the usual time-line that even healthy hair grows.. actually a few years growth in weeks. Also one of the showcases to my eye looked like a hair transplant and when I happened to come across the exact patient in a hair transplant video it confirmed my original analysis.. Question what you see....
  2. Started this acct just to help others like me . I did a lot of research and there’s a lot mixed reviews. I’m just going to share what others did with there experiences that helped me on my journey to getting a hair transplant and I’ll be posting updates to share results and experiences. So I had my transplant March 26 2020 . originally scheduled for 800 grafts . After surgery I was told we did about 1003 grafts . I really wanted my hairline lower but due to funds I just filled in the corners . And maybe potentially lower the hairline some more in future.
  3. Hello everybody. this is my second hairtransplant journey! my firts = All 3000 roots are hair root. Mr. Celik did not need to use a beard root. I am only 25 years old, Mr. Celik acted by planning my future. 2600 graft = vertex 100 graft = middle 300 graft = right front line. I waiting your comment! first 2 pictures before hairtransplant.
  4. Hello all. My temples are the main problem. They have been receding for a few years. I have been using rogaine for a few years. I was wonder if I can get a small FUE to bring back my temple area and corners of Hairline. If so how many grafts do you think I would need? I am 31 years old and my father and his brothers are all bald. Do you also think I’m losing any density at the top of my hair. I posted a pic of where my temples used to be in high school. Lol thanks
  5. Hello, I had 2,700 grafts transplanted via FUE on my temples by HLC Clinic in Ankara, Turkey in April (8 months ago). I had been on Finasteride-only for a year prior to the transplant, and I have not used another medication up to this point. The results in the beginning were great, but I noticed early that there was a patch on the right temple and it hasn’t filled in completely after this time. I have considered the fact I could be a late bloomer, but when I check closely I don’t see any sign of new hair follicles, just emptiness in the space I hoped to be filled with hair. Others have had better results in lesser amount of time and it’s disheartening. I contacted HLC 6 months in and was told to wait until month 9 to reassess. This is in no way a slight to HLC, they are a great clinic that produces great results, It just seems like i’m unlucky and it’s causing me to lose hope. I really need this to work out—It’s life or death. What should I do? Apply Minoxidil and see if the grafts will come alive, get another procedure, wait it out? Please help, Thank you.
  6. Hello, I have been browsing this forum for quite some time (last 7-8 months). I will say it is primarily to find some hair restoration solutions. I have been taking Finasteride 1 mg since I was in my early 20's for about 4ish years then started taking Dutasteride 0.5 mg the last 2 year from my stop of finasteride. I learned about dutasteride from this forum (awhile back before i started to read this the way i do now) and about people talking about its side effects. I would say it has helped to mitigate some hair loss. But overall, i still shed quite a bit. Especially when i shower i see a lot of hair that comes out. Ordinarily I have come to accept my hair loss. However, due to recent family health issues I have started to seek alternative options. I see a lot of people here talk about hair transplants. So i started looking up youtube videos, reviews, some consultations with doctors in my area. The thing is I do not trust the doctors in my area since some don't do the transplant themselves. I asked some dermatologists who said we have options such as prp, laser, etc. but when i asked about other options they did not give me any choices since they could not sell me that service directly. But a little bit about why I want to do any kind of hair transplant or some other alternative is because my mother passed away from aggressive cancer and when she went through chemo it caused her to lose her hair. She was very pressed about it and so i shaved my head along with her. We literally have the same face and when my hair grew in it was really noticeable that I was losing my hair. It looked a lot like my mothers hair and patterns of hair loss she experienced due to the drugs she was taking. However, mine grew back and she unfortunately did not survive long enough to see that. But I look in the mirror and i get this painful reminder of losing her since i cant stop seeing her face. I thought I would get over this but its been 2 years and I want to change the perception I have towards my hair and the way I perceive it. I have tried to get consultations with plastic surgeons in the area that do some hair transplants but they charge up to $300 and that really isnt much help just to hear someone who would probably tell me I need this and try to sell me a service. It would definitely help to hear from their perspective but paying $300 for a review I feel would be bias towards their own profit kind of puts me off on it. I have read a lot of reviews about people doing transplants the in US, Canada, but i have seen a lot of people going to Turkey because of the affordable costs relative to other countries. I have spent months looking into proper procedures and honestly its still hard to decide. If I could honestly afford it I would possibly choose a clinic in NY seeing a lot of their results with hair types similar to mine but I think that is way out of my price range to even consider. I would like to ask anyone who was in a position similar to myself would you consider traveling to Turkey to get a procedure done? Who you would consider (no hairmills please Ive looked extensively into Turkish clinics and doctors)? If not Turkey what doctor would you consider is worth the price? I will say that my budget I can spend is a little close to $7k but in terms of results (grafts) in the states it does not get you much (as far as I have seen for my case of hairloss). Basically, any experience you can give me and what you believe I should research into. I want to note that this isnt something I am willing to jump into right away. I am just trying to start with as much information as possible. I have posted some attachments of my current hair (I think that because my hair is starting to curl in it is covering some of the less dense areas)
  7. Background Hello, im a 22 year old and ive been losing hair since i was 18. i have previously been taking minoxidil and have been on july 2021. for most of that i was taking finasteride EOD, however I've been taking it everyday for the past month or two to see if that would make a difference. In the mean time i would like to make some actions regarding my current state, ive been using hair fibres to hid the issue and i really dont want to continue with it. At first most of the hair loss was in the crown and then the mid zone, with my hairline not really being affected, however recently thats begun to regress and thin. Losing hair so fast and at such a young has really knocked my confidence and mental health down in general. so here are the possible actions. HAIR TRANSPLANTS ive spoken to numerous clinics both in uk, europe , Eugenix and in turkey. all the clinics in the uk except one had told me that i am a candidate for a transplant, however confusingly one of them told me i only need 3k grafts (which i think is too little), while the others including the Turkish clinics said i would need around 5k grafts in total and 2 transplants. in terms of the clinics that currently had said now is not a good time for transplant was HLC in Turkey and sikos klinica in Hungary. the reason was that due to young and advanced loss im sure to keep losing hair, and my unsatisfied with the results, However one aspect i didnt understand was that HLC said that i have miniaturized hair and that i should stay on fin everyday for 6-12 months. with me taking it for more than a year i highly doubt i will reverse the miniaturization. Furthermore the one british clinic that said no to surgery told me i should try dutasteride, however i really dont know if its gonna really do much if fin hasnt done much Ive been trying to get in touch with Dr bicer through her clinic, but im not sure if there's a communication issue as ive asked questions repeatedly without getting answers as well waiting a week for response. i previously was quite set on having a hair transplant but recently i am no longer sure if i will be a suitable candidate, especially with my impression that i may have retrograde alopecia and NW6. But i am still open to having one if it will give good outcome. SMP (Scalp Micropigmentation) ive also recently started looking more seriously into SMP, with the two main clinics being Creative Scalps or Brandwood clinic. However like with any procedure i feel it has its pros and cons, im not quite sure how faded smps look, upclose, in bright photos and also a big fear of developing the lego hairline look due to lots of topups. Furthermore, i remember reading a thread about some fears regarding if SMP increases risk of cancer, if someone could illuminate me and explain whether these fears are justified or not would be appreciated. Hair system this looks like quite a good idea however im scared if someone would be able to tell that its a hair system due to the hairline or the visible lace etc. how much maintenance is needed and also the costs is also questions i have. just saying FOK IT and shaving it all off. if this is the best solution then ill do it, the first couple of days will jarring especially with me being the youngest in my group/work and being the first person to go bald. But after that i feel may just accept and just not be bothered by it. I Have attached some photos.
  8. I'm looking to get a hair transplant in India. Does Eugenix Mumbai do as good a job as Delhi? Does anyone know of any good clinics in Pune? M/32 here
  9. On my first night after the surgery i felt really pressure, around the transplant area because i was not sure how to sleep after the surgery so my head was really lower than my body while sleeping i was feeling pressure aswell. Now i am scared if this can damage the new grafts?
  10. Hi all, I opening this thread to asking if anyone of you would any recommendations for some top hair transplant surgeons in Europe (Turkey incl.)? I do not think I would need that many crafts - I've asked a surgeon in Switzerland and he told me around 2000 if I want high density. This is actually what I am really looking for: Natural hairline High density My goal is to have long hair - I do not really know if this has any impact on my choice for a clinic... Thank you very much for your recommendations! I am really looking forward to receiving them :). Have a nice week all, best, Elisha
  11. In need of medical/personal advice: I am a female who has been looking into over 10+ clinics in Turkey for unshaven DHI hair transplants. I have PCOS which has led to female patterned hair loss. I have had clinics offer what I want and some have offered other methods, but I want the best clinic which high quality service. If you have any advice/suggestions or if your are a female or male who has done their research on HT in Turkey, I would appreciate your input! Also, if anyone has any experience with organic hair transplants, that would be greatly appreciated too!

  13. Hello everyone, i just had my hair transplant operation short time ago and would like to share all about it. Hair loss started 5-6 years ago and came up to consideration to think about a solution recently as i am 34 years old. As seen on my photos, especially the frontal part got bald and some crown. The prior process was standard like all other clinics, request, analyze, quotation, comparison and decision. Eventually i made my mind to fly over to istanbul and make it done with Arenamed due to ref photos, responsiveness, premises etc. They offered me 3 days package including transfers and hotel, i just had to book my flight to confirm the appointment. Anyways, airport welcoming, hotel location was ok. On the op day, right after arriving to hospital, first step was the blood test, then filling patient form and finally plan of the transplant. Front line and recipient area area drawn and i checked and confirmed. What impressed me was the graft qty to plan for transplantation. Only to the frontal part 5000 + 1000 for crown in total of 6000. Operation took about 9-10 hours and not easy to be still even if you have short breaks for lunch, toilet, rest etc. Eventually all was transplanted and i can't wait for the process. Aftercare and my condition are satisfactory so far as i am at the very beginning. Just got back home, will keep the forum updated and comments are welcome. Team was professional and understanding the concerns. Seems well talented and did not have a problem during long hours. There was the final check after extraction for the frontline and recipient area, injections are painful but no feeling after 10 min. i think the most challenging part is to be still for hours long.
  14. Hello, I’m posting a review of my experience with my fue hair transplant with Dr Mohebi in LA, California. Im a 41 year old male and I had a receiding hair line that was getting worse and I couldn’t take it anymore. After doing months of research I landed on Dr Mohebi. I live in Canada, so my consult was over FaceTime. He answered all of my questions ana took the time to explain the surgery. He suggested that I could get as many as 2100 graphs to strengthen and even maybe restore my hairline. I went ahead and got the surgery. His staff were so friendly and professional. Dr Mohebi was amazing start to finish. I highly reccomend him. It was a positive experience, and the results so far is already life changing. I’m just over 6 months post surgery and I’m so happy with my current progress. In my opinion, Dr Mohebi is an artist and he deeply cares about his patients. I hope that this helps anybody considering a FUE hair transplant.

  16. Hello Guys! Maybe this question has been told a billion times. What clinic in Turkey is good for hair transplant and for affordable price? By "Good Clinic" I mean: - They use real doctors -They dont scam you and give you a meaningless warranty - No fake reviews on facebook/google etc -Their agents just care actually about you and not just see you as money - AND SO ON I have done lots of research. There are tons of hair clinics in Turkey and honestly it seems to be very difficult to find a trustful one. A hair clinic that is professional and gives you nice hair transplant with density and natural aesthetic look. Many clinics give horrible hair transplant and they looks very "fake". Now the worries is not only to get a good hair transplant, but also a trustful hair clinic that actually uses REAL DOCTORS and not some technicians and you are just their training phantom. I have looked many clinics and they seem to have tons of reviews and a bunch of them looks fake, within that you see some people that got scammed. They promised them another hair transplant if the results are bad, and they end up blocking them and cutting them out. There are tons of these stories. Also there are many agents just advertising for the clinics and does not care at all about you as a patient, they get their money for making customers and thats it; you are in the hands of the sharks. So one clinic I have been in contact with has been Vera Clinic. Did some research and saw some before/after photos and they looked good. They had many professional looking YouTube videos, BUT again who can trust. Everyone can photoshop and lie about things. What matters is results with a nice hair transplant where density/volume is focused and the donor area is taken care of in a nice pattern. So who knows a hair clinic in Turkey that is professional and use real doctors? I dont want any headaches of having trouble. Is there maybe a Turkish guy here that might help out for what kind of rights you have against a clinic in case of a scam?
  17. Hi, My name is Sim, I am 27 years old and i am from Canada. My friend and i have decided that we are going to Eugenix hair transplant in india. After doing research for about 5 years we narrowed it down to either Darling buds and Eugenix in india. After looking into both places to the "T" we feel like the results at eugenix are more dense then darling buds. The method used a Eugenix is a bit different then the method used at darlings buds thats another reason we chose Eugenix (Eugenix uses DHI introduced in 2013) . Darling buds have been around longer and might have more experience but we felt like the results at Eugenix were better density wise. I will be posting my overview about the surgery along with pictures every month and how my trip/surgery was at Eugenix. We both have decided that we are going to go with the "Comprehensive and exclusive package" that Eugenix offers and we both decided we are going to get are hair transplant done from Dr.Anika Bansal. We will begin are journey to india on March 5th 2020 and are surgery will take place March 9th and 10th 2020 once the surgery is done i will start posting my progress, grafts implanted, before/after pictures, monthly updates, and other information that you guys would like to know. I will also be putting up videos on my youtube channel of the progress every month, i was told by many of my followers to do so because most people following me want to get a hair transplant and obviously want to see the results before commiting to do this big procedure. I will put a link up of my channel once the surgery is done so you guys can follow that as well. I am excited and nervous about this, I've been waiting for a long time. Feel free to message me anytime and i will try my best to answer your guys questions.
  18. Time waits for no man... one day the young people will become old people and that times has arrived to me. That's why I'm seriously thinking about a hair transplant. But the thing is that I wanna do it well. The first thing you have to know is that I'm in London where I wanna do it. The second is that after some research I'm hesitating amongst 3 options: About Capilclinic I've got very good reviews. Looks like people who went there is quite happy with the results. I've also read many good things about the other 2, specially Fortes, but the thing is that they are not as low price as Capilclinic. I know a good hair transplant do not come cheap, but I don't know. Im stuck, so I need your help guys
  19. Hey, So I decided to face my longtime insecurity, I am 22 years old, my dad (56y.o.) is NW6 and my brother who is 3years older than me has thin hair and very receded corners (started noticing his hairloss around my age). So you can say genetic alopecia runs in my family. Right now I have a very big forehead, a little bit receded corners and lower density in my corners but still a lot of hair so it is not that hard to camouflage. My dad and brother have straight darker hair. I have kinda dirty blonde and very curly hair which I got from mums side. Posting more hair pics one from my long hair era and one from my elementary school where you can see my hairline was never perfect) so you can imagine better. I deciced to jump on FINASTERIDE to prevent any further hairloss (starting next week maybe 1mg/Day) and also thinking about getting FUT in the future (in one or two years maybe) to lower my hairline and bring the temples a little bit closer... to get more natural look that would define my face. Please let me know what u think: Am I a good candidate? Should I do anything else to prevent hairloss? Is my donor area good enough?Thought about getting fut with Dr. Bloxham, How many grafts ? My idea was around 2700-3000 grafts. Would love to be able to slick my hair back or brush it up (can not do it right now because the size of my forehead) Thank you for your replies guys! GL with your hair genetics
  20. Hello, I would like to share my experience. Perhaps it would be helpful for somebody. I had 2 operations with Dr. Kaan Pekiner in Turkey Ankara. I had 2506grafts transplanted 20 months ago and 1000 grafts transplanted 8 months ago. The 12-month result after the first transplant (2506 grafts) turned out to be very bad, and Dr. Kaan offered a free touch up with 1000 grafts, and I agreed. I am disappointed with the results so far, the front line density is low. From my personal point of view, the second operation 1000 grafts survived much better than the first 2506 grafts. Dr. Kaan said that the reason of such result is that I did not take finasteride/minoxidil, but I am not sure what the real reason is. The healing process was fine both times. About the medication, I used minoxidil 5% for half a year before the first operation and sometime after. It worked but I got some side effects and quit. I took Xpecia for some time, but got side effects and quit. before: post first op 6 months after first op 12 months after first op 8 months after the second op
  21. Hello everyone. I am new here but i would love to get a feedback from you kindly. I have had thinning hair (many docs said its diffuse thinning) on my crown and right side of my head to be precise since 2017, but over the years the thinning has increased and seems like a balding patch. Although i can mask the bald patches but my guess is not for long. My concern is i don't want to wait to bald completely and then go for an ht, i want to retain my look. The problem is, half of the doctors from turkey and india advised to go on with a ht while others suggest its too early since I am 24 years old and to be honest i am not willing to do 2 or 3 surgeries. I want to have a thicker density but i am little confused. Kindly advise. ps i have been using minoxidil and finastride topical solution for almost a year but doesnt seem to help. and my donor area is very healthy
  22. Hi I am Paul Ajmera, Manager at Darling Buds Clinic, Chandigarh India. This is my first post. I have been assigned the task of posting patient results. This 32 years old patient returned after one year for minor touch ups when these pictures were taken. 1606 scalp grafts for hairline and temple points and another 625 for the crown area. You can also see the scalp donor after he was shaved for the present procedure. Hope you will like it. Please comment below so we can discuss the patient.
