  1. looks very nice, did you post a pre-op pic anywhere? I saw your original post with the immediate post op, but didn't see any photos depicting what your hair loss looked like before the ht
  2. Dr. Rahal's ability to recreate some of the most natural, perfectly suited hairlines for each individual patient is just amazing!
  3. fantastic result - looks amazingly natural, congrats!
  4. agree with you about the hairline design, I believe that zig zag or jagged section provides the correct, soft and natural feathering effect at the very front of the hairline ... really impressive result
  5. excellent case, but since the new hairline is much more natural and conservative than the prior linear SMP, was there any treatment before the FUE procedure to eliminate some of the ink at the lower hairline and temple areas?
  6. Dr. Wong's work is fantastic, but I think you're probably an above average healer, scar looks undetectable! congrats and continued success growing!
  7. I think you have a very decent, age appropriate hairline with slight temple recession. If it were me, I would not lower it at all, but focus on enhancing and making it stronger by transplanting where you may have some miniaturization going on and possibly filling in the middle of the hairline where you have some loss - not to make it look too symmetrical but with an irregular pattern found in natural hairlines. A surgeon with excellent skills and artistry will undoubtedly do an excellent job reinforcing your current hairline without dropping it to a point where it will not serve you well in your 40's, 50's or 60's. That's what you need to consider and keep in mind. For your crown, I may consider putting that off for now and seeing where your hair loss pattern is going as you are still young. Try meds, minox, other natural supplements along with DHT blockers etc. Alternatively, your surgeon may want to address the crown now, but since MPB is continuous and progressive , you may have to address it again as you continue to lose hair. At the end of the day, as long as you make informed decisions, and not ones based on fear or panic, you will have a better plan of attack to address your hair loss going forward. Best of luck to you.
  8. you don't use any beard or body hair for hair transplantation unless your donor is completely maxed out and have no other choice - first its texture is different from scalp hair, 2nd - it's viability and growth rate for transplantation is far less than grafts from your scalp. Body or beard hair should be your LAST not first option.
  9. Zach, you look like you have a great donor supply for another HT. With all due respect, Bosley is not known for having top notch surgeons and your case appears like it will be more of a repair case to restore your frontal third zone. Since you've already gone the FUT route, I would think that would be the most cost effective and best method for ultimate graft yield - but you can also look into FUE options with recommended surgeons here. There are so many top notich surgeons in the US whose results you can research on this site. Just a few that were on my short list were Konior, Shapiro, Hasson & Wong (Canada), Rahal (Canada), Gabel, or Feller. I don't think you could go wrong with any of these doctors but ultimately you need to get a few consultations and go with who you feel most comfortable with. Best of luck to you.
  10. DO NOT GET A 2ND PROCEDURE WITH BOSLEY!!! The result of your 1st procedure does not look good. Obviously not enough grafts and the placement or density does not look to today's standards. Go to a recommended hair restoration surgeon on this forum. Get a few consultations and go with the surgeon you feel most comfortable with. Your case is really more like a repair of the 1st procedure to restore your frontal third and hairline. Since you've already gone the FUT route and have a scar, I"m sure that's probably your best route again with 2.5k to 3k grafts required. Do some research on this site and you'll see documented cases from excellent, top notch doctors such as Konior, Shapiro, Gabel, Rahal, Hasson, Wong, Feller and many many more. Whatever doctor is working on you at the Bosley mill can not come close to the experience or artistry of any of these renowned HT specialists.
  11. you should be extremely happy you're seeing any growth at only 2.5 months ... and it will not all come in at the same time, even at 6 months you may have one side that lags behind another - but eventually it all does blend well once the HT fully matures at 12 months or so. congrats and continued success growing!
  12. that pimple activity is a tell tale sign you've got growth going on up there! don't pop them but apply some polysporin on them, that's about all you can do. congrats and grow well.
  13. you're 100% fine... those scabs with the transplanted hair are useless, its the follicle that's been under the skin that matters... 10 days post op or so that follicle is safely anchored and part of your scalp - in fact not having that area properly cleaned of the dead skin, crusting, etc may have inhibited growth, you want that area as clean as possible to promote re-growth of the follicle after its resting phase -
  14. I'd also have a consultation with Hasson & Wong if I needed a mega-session as you do. They also do FUE now, however unsure if they can max a single FUE session at 2 or 3k grafts, absolutely more if its a mega FUT session. I just saw an advertisement that they're consulting in NY in March sometime.
  15. depends on who you ask and what expertise you're talking about, ie. mega-sessions, hairline designs, FUE vs FUT.... there are many exceptional top notch North American doctors, Hasson being one of them, but my list would include doctors Wong, Rahal, Konior, Shapiro, Feller, and certainly a few more that I would have no hesitation going with for hair restoration surgery.
  16. wash your hair the morning of your procedure and do not use any styling products - if this bothers you, just wear a hat to your clinic - your head will be shaved for an FUE procedure anyway so you won't be looking so great post op anyway
  17. didn't catch your age in this thread, but based on photos alone I would not undergo a HT at this time, you're hair looks great as is, you'll probably be assuming more risk than reward, try getting on meds, taking natural supplements, using good shampoos, etc. as others have recommended, I can sympathize with you when you state that you've starting noticing some diffuse thinning, that's how I panicked in my mid 20's and underwent a HT in the early 90's with no knowledge and understanding of what I was getting into, it was the WORST decision in my life! As I lost more hair over two decades, I finally went to an excellent surgeon to correct the situation. My advice - wait - your situation is not as bad as you think it is.
  18. JT65 - you may have some miniaturization of some hairs in the hairline which may not come back if they're shaved during the procedure. I've seen most surgeons go a bit beyond the existing hairline in order to address miniaturized hairs. Whether you go FUE or FUT, you will most likely have your recipient area shaved. With FUE, your donor will need to be shaved as well. So in 2 weeks, I can tell you that it will be very noticeable that you've at least shaved your hair down. With FUT, surgeons will normally conceal the scar within existing hair on the back of your head. And here too, there is the possibility of shock loss of hairs around the scar due to trauma. No one can tell you definitively if that will occur to you or how quickly you can expect to recover from that. In 2 to 4 weeks you may also have some lingering redness in the recipient area from the surgery. At this point, all your grafts will have fallen out, but it may be evident that you've had something done in that area. As a pre-emptive move, some people get their hair cut very short or even buzzed beforehand, so people don't see such a big difference after your procedure. I would take a look at some other posts on here where people have posted progress photos at 2 or 4 weeks and see for yourself what you can expect. My main point is, it won't be totally un-noticeable that you've had something done. A hair transplant is surgery, and depending on may factors, including how fast you heal, it may or may not be so noticeable. Also, you mentioned you'll be in a warm climate after your surgery. Be aware that you can't get any extended periods of sun on your grafted area for at least the first few months. You'll need to wear hats, etc. to protect the grafts and not get them exposed to sun.
  19. I wouldn't worry about it, looks very minor, no real bleeding per se, just a small spot, could have been a pimple or ingrown hair as you mentioned
  20. WOW - if I had your hair, I wouldn't do a thing! if you're looking to address the temple recession, which looks completely natural and age appropriate by the way, I'd go with an FUE procedure if I were in your shoes.. I would not go overboard and try to recreate a hairline that is too unrealistic or too low... matching density to your native hair will probably be the most challenging issue in your case otherwise the result will appear unnatural .. selecting a top notch surgeon is your key decision-
  21. very nice cosmetic improvement for the rather small number of grafts utilized
  22. very interesting case, best of luck and heal well from your 2nd procedure
  23. those pics in your post bring back memories of my own FUE procedures (now 3 - front, midscalp, crown) with Dr. Rahal. all were great experiences and I'm certainly happy I chose him as well. Your result looks amazing! congrats
