  1. with no pre-op pic kinda hard to make a true comparison - and as others have stated, 5 months is kinda early growth for crown work - that is likely not your final result with more growth, density and maturation to come over the next 7 months
  2. I wanted to echo that 1,000 grafts sounds very insufficient even for just front zone/hairline restoration based on the level of recession indicated in your pictures ... maybe get a second or even third opinion??

loos great, mature, conservative hairline with great density
  4. for some reason, growth in the crown seems to take longer than areas on the frontal zone or midscalp - hang in there!
  5. any reputable surgeon will try to replicate what a natural hairline will be for your age, facial aesthetics, etc. not the hairline you believe you should have at any particular age ... they project ahead 5-10-15 years as you "continue" to lose hair, because yes, hair loss is a continuous & progressive condition. If you lower your hairline, and over the years your native hair behind that transplanted band of hair goes, you will look "awkward" with an island for a hairline and nothing behind. I suggest you take the opinions of the multiple surgeons you have now seen as good advice. You will NEVER be able to replicate your original hairline or density from when you were 20. The fact of the matter is your donor is a limited supply of hair to provide the "illusion" of more hair when its transplanted properly. Seems like you need to do more homework and re-evaluate your expectations as to what a hair transplant can do for you. ps - I just saw your pics and hairline that you drew and now I more fully understand the comments of others on this thread. Totally unreasonable and un-natural looking. Anything doctor that would perform work on you based on that hairline would be committing malpractice in my lay-man's opinion.
  6. congrats on your HT! I had the exact same feeling right after my surgery, like WOW why didn't I do this sooner? all that anxiety and apprehension for nothing.... your pics look great, hairline design and work look meticulous, you should be in for a great work! continued success in your healing and growth
  7. after any procedure, FUT or FUE, you don't look your best, in my case my entire head was shaved for the first time in my life, I looked "weird" and I knew it. The best advice I received was don't worry about how you look and most importantly, don't worry about what anyone else thinks. You are more self conscious than anyone else really cares about how you look and that's a fact. You may get an occasional stare - so what? Hair color is the least of your problems, you'll be going thru 2-4 months of healing and a transformation that will all be worth it in the end. Suck it up, wear a hat when you can and don't worry about trying to look even close to your pre-op situation because its probably not realistic.
  8. coming along great! and the naturally mature, conservative hairline will serve you well for years to come! congrats and continued success in your healing & growth
  9. you have 2 excellent choices now in Canada, Rahal and H&W both doing FUE for much cheaper than any US surgeons, the currency exchange rate helps alot! Unless you are willing to travel internationally to destinations such as Turkey or Belgium, those 2 choices are top notch here in North America.
  10. nothing else to do, you're HT is a 100% success .... ie night and day transformation from your before and after, a 2nd procedure would be overkill at this point ... you're still young and may have further hair loss of your native hair over the years, save your donor for that ... congrats
  11. there is no such thing as a HT surgery (FUE or FUT) without scarring - the degree of scarring or ability to visibly notice it to the naked eye may be the difference - yes if you shave your head to a 1 or 2 guard or worst yet, bic shave your head, FUE scarring will be evident, that's a fact you should have been aware of before having surgery
  12. where are you located? and I assume you do this for scars as well on the back of the head? how long does it last?
  13. I totally relate to your story.. I spent years concealing my hair loss with comb overs, hair sprays, gels, etc. I feared windy days, would never go in a swimming pool, and avoided all types of social events, to the point I believe I definitely fell into a depression. Having my HT surgery changed my outlook, my spirit and my confidence. You looked absolutely fine in your before picture, but you look "great" in your after photo. I'm really happy you found a solution that gave you back a happier outlook on life. Congrats and enjoy!
  14. the transplanted hairs are probably never going to match in exact density to your existing hair - one of the illusions of more fuller coverage after a HT is finding a sweet spot in hair length - I would bet if you shaved your head, you or someone with a trained eye could tell transplanted vs. your native hair, that being said it you're trying to wear it short for better application of minoxodil while you go thru this regiment for the next few months, that makes sense too...
  15. people throw around the term "undetectable" with regards to hair transplants - and while a modern HT in the hands of a skilled surgeon can come out being undetectable, its never the same as what nature gave us and NEVER truly "undetectable" to someone with a trained eye ..... that's the real standard
  16. looking great for 6 months! and still more maturity and density to come, awesome transformation, congrats.
  17. I can see where you might be disappointed with some of the single hairs up front seeming a bit too uniformly placed - un-natural doesn't seem to be the right description, its just not soft enough for a hairline. It would be better if you could show your hair styled or slick back to really show how the hairline looks fully exposed. The good news is its not a tremendous disaster and probably a quick fix for a skilled surgeon - ie. add some additional density in between existing hairs with some single hair softners up front for a more natural irregular hairline pattern. Get a few consults with a few top knotch docs, I don't think it will take much to actually meet your expectations and improve upon what you have. Good luck
  18. any pics showing your state of hair loss?
  19. never heard of Dr. Cuoto, but just checked out some of his vids on youtube ... sick!
  20. I was pretty bald and I always knew from the onset that my HT was not going to give me high density - the illusion of adequate coverage for acceptable to me. I found that the best hairstyle is typically found when you're layering the hair - either pushing it straight back or a side part. Length is trickier as you'll have to find what works best for you, but as others have stated, there definitely is a sweet spot for the right length as well. I don't find getting really short hair cuts helps with the illusion of density except for the style to grow in better over time.
  21. any US surgeon will be charging double for FUE over FUT - for quality FUE surgeons and more competitive FUE pricing you're going to have to look overseas or even Rahal or H&W in Canada - with the favorable currency exchange rate - you end up doing much better than US pricing - but I do not believe the Canadian surgeons do any body/beard HT
  22. I agree with everyone else - you should have no regrets about selecting Dr. Konior. I bet he's probably on everyone's short list. I just want to caution you about your expectation about returning to work within a week and being able to easily conceal your procedure and FUT scar. FUT, while less expense than FUE, is more invasive and will take more time to heal. You will likely have stitches or staples for your incision for at least 10-14 days - after which they'll need to be removed. Most docs have a great way of concealing the scar by leaving your hair longer on top to cover it, but with FUT there is also a risk of shock loss to the hair above and underneath the scar. I understand you are not shaving your recipient area so you can conceal the HT and newly transplanted grafts, but just be aware than in just 7 days most people still have redness from the procedure and while more remote in that timeframe, maybe even swelling in the forehead, face, eyes, etc. Like others have also stated here, for a 2k graft procedure, I too would have opted for FUE. Yes, they shave your donor, but by 7-10 days you'd look like you had a buzz cut, and if you buzzed your hair before having your procedure, people at work would notice nothing by the time you came back with the same look. Furthermore, healing time is much quicker with FUE because its less invasive. Just wanted to provide some words of caution to your expectation that you'd be back to work in 7 days after an FUT procedure - while doable, it won't be totally unnoticeable.
