I have been on minoxidil since I was 16 and fin since I was 20. I am nearly 32 and would like to fix my crown in the next few years. Concealer and styling has worked well but I'd really like to not have to worry about covering it up anymore. Dr Feller rebuilt my frontal third in 2012 and my loss hasn't progressed much, if any, in the last 11 years. I tried to get a pic of donor and scar. Will post hairline in another thread soon. Please let me know how many grafts you think I'd need and whether you think I'm a candidate. As you may notice, I have fine blonde hair and light

Hi, I was under FUE procedure almost 4 months ago. I'm more active on french forums but like this one too. Finally I'm making this topic. I'm 36, NW3V. I started losing hair in early twenties. Very agressive loss until late 20s then it slowed down a lot. It started by vertex and frontal thinning appeared later. I have no history of hair loss in my family. Pretty unlucky 😡 The operation was done within two days : day one : 2000 grafts for hairline day two : 1539 for crown/vertex (the total was 3559 because I lost 20 grafts when hurting my head 😡 I'm posting persona

Hi all, I am 10 days post FUE on hairline and crown. I assume I can shower with direct pressure at this stage, but out of an abundance of caution I am filling up a cup with sink water then pouring it gently over m head. Short story is I accientally filled my cup with very hot water and poured it on my crown. It wasn't scaling or boiling, but was uncomfortably hot. Now I'm worried that I poured this very hot water directly on the already inflamed grafts and ruined them. Is this something I legitimately need to be concerned about, or is it my mind getting the best of me? I know countl

Hi all Looking for modern advice on crown transplants. I'm still very happy with my hair line result from Dr Feller 8 years ago, but now I'm starting to think about the crown. I have a horizontal rectangular thin/patchy area that sometimes looks very full and others not so. Hair style and concealer has helped me for the last 10 years but I want to get this sorted out eventually. I'm 31, from the UK, on propecia and minoxidil and have had one FUT with Dr Feller in July 2012. So, what's the latest thinking on crowns? Is Dr Wong still considered the best? Is mid 30s too y

Hi, my name is Zac and while I'm waiting (very patiently) for my hair to grow I figured I'd take the time to share my results. Thanks to all who have shared their results and stories in the past, as they've helped me a great deal in preparing for the process. I just turned 40 years old in July, about a month after my surgery with Dr. Vories in South Carolina. It took me a few years to decide to have the transplant, but the only thing really holding me back was the cost. I felt Dr. Vories was fairly priced in comparison to most I'd researched, and his results seemed to be on par wit

Just wanted any second opinions as to whether my crown is starting to go or not? I’m 20 years old and I’ve always had quite a visible crown, not sure if I’m just being paranoid or if there might be something to worry about

Dear all, In the next video of Dr Bhatti's incredibly informative series, he discusses the Crown/Vertex area and explains in his own detailed fashion the different aspects to be aware of including expectations and failure. A must see for all patient with thinning Crowns planning on having this troublesome area restored. Some valuable lessons to be learnt, enjoy!

Hi everyone. Im 42 years old and have been thinning in my crown area for over 15 years. It has stabilized for the most part. I am doing some research but it seems there are not as many crown before/after photos from the physicians results pages... Based on what I have seen I have narrowed it down to Dr. Wesley, Dr. Wong, and Dr. Arocha. Who would you recommend for the crown area? Thank you in advance for you help

Hi all, I’m 25 and just recently had a bit of a scare when I saw a photo of my crown. Am I thinning or just overreacting? thanks

Well it’s been a few years since I last posted, I had 3700 FUT with Dr Pathomvanich in 2009, all went well very happy with the result which was mainly about “framing the face”. My crown was always thin, I haven’t been on fin recently, and I don’t think my hair has changed that much, but will hop back on fin before I get another transplant. The strip was done with a trichophatic closure, which worked perfectly, basically invisible, that coupled with lower transaction rates means I’m really keen to pursue FUT again rather than FUE. I haven’t ruled out Thailand again, just that the coun

I feel like my crown is thinning, Im 17 so I know it's unlikely and I'm probably paranoid, but I would like some input from people who know what they're talking about. I also know that this could just be temporary thinning, but I'm not sure.

INTRODUCTION Dear forumers, Greetings from a fellow forumer and former/recent ASMED patient. It's been a while since my last visit, but a lot of things have happened regarding my hair loss (problems) in the meantime. Some of you could remember me as I was posting about my 3200 FUE HT journey with ASMED a few years ago. Since my last forum post in January 2017, I've undergone second transplant with the same clinic (and third in total) in the January 2018. Almost a year passed since my second transplant with ASMED (and third in total), so I decided to open a new thread to sha

I am 23 and last year my mother noticed the hair near my crown thinning. I have been pretty paranoid since. I get a lot of conflicting opinions from people close to me, ranging from ‘everything is perfectly’ fine to ‘you will be bald within 2-3 years’. Thought I would get an opinion from more experienced people on here who have gone through similar journeys. I am currently taking daily: 10,000 mcg biotin pills, 500 mg Saw Palmetto pills, 350 mg beta-sitosterole and shampoo daily with either bitoin shampoo/alpecin (both which claim to block DHT, the latter using caffeine). And every 3-4 days I

Hi, I have been noticing some scalp showing on the back of my head and was wondering whether you think that it is normal or not. Also since I am 18, should I start getting some sort of medication or something or should I wait. Attached find some pics Thanks

I want to undergo hair transplantation surgery. Unfortunately, the donor area in the back of my head is weak and the baldness area in my head is large where I have the baldness stage of NW7. Therefore, extraction of grafts from my chest is a must. Therefore, I have been informed by the most hair transplantation clinics and advisory websites that covering the whole of my head is not possible, especially in one session. In the first session, which may also be the only session for me, it will be only possible to cover my hairline and the frontal area of my head, so that the crown and the bac

Some clinics have informed me that hairs extracted from the chest fall after being implanted in the head in 3-4 years. The chest's hair has a very different nature and anagen phases of the head hair. However, in many cases, it gets the same nature of the head hair and gets softer and longer in an only case opposite to the Orentreich’s theory that the transplanted organ keeps its original nature. Does the chest's hair fall from the head when it sometimes fails to take the same nature of the head hair, or may it fall even if it takes the same nature of the head hair? How long does

Hi, I am worried about a small patch at the whorl in my head. I am 18 and on a relatively healthy diet. I was wondering if this is normal whorl or beginning of hairloss. Thanks

I got a haircut after 8 months of hair transplant. My crown / vertex looked really thin after the cut. It was 2 months ago. Now I am waiting for my hair to grow up again, but confused on how to calculate my days / months about transplant. Should I say I am at 10 months or 2 months? Does hair grow faster after haircut?

It's actually a fairly common question, a lot of guys don't mind the hair loss at the hairline, but are pretty bothered by the bald spot on the crown. In my opinion, the hairline has a fare more dramatic cosmetic change. However, as someone who has a thin crown I can relate. I encourage everyone to take a few minutes to read this article and please share with anyone struggling with deciding. Should I Get A Hair Transplant For My Hairline Or Crown

I wanted to get the community's thoughts and comments on my FUE decision. Attached are before-FUE and post-FUE Day 7 pics. I decided to go for a conservative hairline - 1,250 grafts in the crown and another 1,250 in the front. I am 39 years old. I have not taken propecia or minoxidil. Donor area has mostly healed but still have some burning sensation (2or3 on a scale of 1 to 10). Hoping to go back to work in 2 days. Feel free to tell me what you think.

I wasn't sure if this was the correct section to post this in but I was wondering if I should be worried about my crown and my back cowlick. I like to think it seems pretty normal but i'm not sure and wanted others opinion. Here are two pictures under direct light and the other in normal room lighting.
