  3. Hello everyone, it’s been 9 months since I had my hair transplant procedure done at Eugenix Clinic in Gurgoan. With every passing month my hair is getting thicker and thicker , although normally it takes a year to achieve full results I’m noticing extremely good results in a pretty short time. It took me 3 long years to finalise the best surgeon but every second I spent in searching was worth it , I had consulted many doctors from Delhi , Hyderabad, Chandigarh but everyone told me I could never have head full of hair as I was a grade 7 patient and I needed around 7500 grafts to cover my entire baldness which could only be achieved using scalp grafts along with beard grafts and that it would be highly expensive , as beard grafts costs 2-3 times the cost of a normal scalp graft but by God’s grace I found Dr Pradeep and Dr Arika who not only gave me great results but also charged beard and scalp grafts at the same cost. I had many sleepless nights thinking about my baldness but these doctors came into my life like a candle in darkness, they are genuinely nice people who go out of their way to help their patients, each day I’m thankful to them for making my dream into a reality, sometimes what we need is not a push but rather a miracle to keep us going. I might have paid for my treatment but their kindness and personal care that they gave me i will always remain in their debt. Some memories remain forever, always vivid and heart warming. After meeting these Doctors I understood why a Doctor’s profession is a noble one! We never know the true value of moment until it becomes a reality. It’s time for me to thank these wonderful Doctors who touched my life and changed it forever. For people who are looking for hair transplant check out results achieved at Eugenix Clinic on YouTube and I am sure you will not think of any other place. .
  4. 50 year old patient with hairline recession. His age and slow rate of hair loss made him an ideal candidate for this type of dense restoration with complete temple closure. Photos and details can be seen here
  5. Hi All, I am 31 years old and soon going to be 32 in the next few months, have been losing hair for the past 5 years. I have tried using both Minoxidil and Finpecia for about a year together and then stopped about 6 months back, as I just couldn't see myself doing it any further for the rest of my life. I'm not sure if it did stop my hair loss or helped regrow some, as there was nothing noticeable to my eye. I've been following this forum for about 2 years as a silent spectator while deciding if I really needed a hair transplant (Parents being against it) or should I wait further or look for an alternate solution (Hair System?). I've really been stressed for the past few years due to the hair loss and it did impact my self confidence, with some individuals (friends/colleagues) making jokes in public about the balding spot didn't help either. Being unmarried and balding is not making it easier for me. The forum helped me reading through all the patient's reviews and their journeys. I then decided I do need a HT, so it finally came down between Dr Bhatti and Dr Lorenzo, but considering the cost (wasn't that important factor) and Chandigarh also being my home town, I opted for Dr Bhatti and fixed my appointment with him over email for the next month. After discussing with Dr Bhatti over the email, he mentioned I'm Norwood 3V and that I would need 1500 grafts for the front, 1000 grafts to cover my crown. My hair other than the balding spot is reasonably thick, I have attached the pictures to give a fair idea. Need everyones honest view on the frontal hairline, should I lower it further or continue with the same? Do you think 1000 grafts will be enough for the crown? How much density should I be aiming for at the front and the crown while making sure I do not waste my donor area (as I may at some time in future need it again, I hope not - but still) Should I consider transplanting my chest hair instead for the crown, instead of wasting the donor area at the back? If yes, will it look unnatural considering the hair surrounding it is thick and original hair (instead of the chest hair)? I will of course be discussing this with Dr Bhatti in person (didn't feel like bombarding him with so many questions over email), but I will be in a better situation if I have everyones view and I got almost a month to ponder over it. Would love everyones view PS: I'm suffering from Hypothyroidism (under control via pills).
  6. A 31 year old male with the history of hair loss presented to us. He had lost hair in the frontal and temple part. he used to tie turban earlier. He as diagnosed as a case of Traction alopecia. We suggested him Bio FUE procedure. He underwent Bio FUE procedure and 1220 grafts were transplanted. The whole surgery was uneventful. The patient is very happy and satisfied with his new hair line after 1.5 years.
  7. This 35-year-old patient came to Dr Rahal a Norwood 3, with the goal to restore his receded hairline and strengthen his temple points. Dr Rahal transplanted 2553 grafts using the FUE method. Surgery Type - FUE Recipient Area Treated - 50cm Grafts Transplanted - 2553 Recipient Graft Density - 51 grafts/cm Recipient Hair Density - 104 hairs/cm Graft Breakdown: Single Hair - 685 grafts Two Hair - 1135 grafts Three Hair - 687 grafts Four Hair - 46 grafts Total Grafts - 2553 Total Hairs - 5200 Hairs Per Graft - 2.04 Before: Post-op: 11 months: Below are some photos the patient sent us, three years after the procedure. He's extremely pleased with the result and his ability to try more styling options.
  8. Here we have a great example of an FUE patient receiving a relatively small number of grafts with maximum achievement. Dr Rahal designed a conservative hairline, reconstructing the lateral (temple) areas and adding density without lowering the front. This opens up a much greater range of styling options for the patient. 1233 grafts were used with a density that works out at 47 grafts per cm. The patient's donor area still has many grafts available for the future. Surgery Type: FUE Recipient Area Treated: 26cm Zones Treated: 1 & 2 Graft Breakdown: Single Hair - 385 grafts Two Hair - 542 grafts Three Hair - 276 grafts Four Hair - 30 grafts Average Hairs Per Graft - 1.95 Total Grafts - 1233 Total Hairs - 2408 Recipient Density - 47.42 grafts/cm Recipient Hair Density - 92.6 hairs/cm Pre-op: Post-op, showing graft placement: Final Result:
  9. Hello all, I will be 26 in a few weeks, and I am considering a hair transplant in January 2018 with Dr Tejinder Bhatti. I have found HRN to be quite informative, and there are obviously some very experienced members aboard! As I’ve read so many conflicting things on HTs online, I really don’t know what to do and would be grateful for any advice. Background Started receding at the age of around 19/20. Hair has always been naturally thin and fine (same for all males in my family). Crown area is controlled and it’s only really the temples/hairline which are evident. I use coconut oil about 3 times a week and caffeine shampoo only. I find this helps my hair to grow thicker and fuller, consistent usage = 5/6 years. Hair transplant 1500 grafts have been recommended by Dr Bhatti to restore the hairline. Issues At first it seemed like a no brainer. Receding hair with controlled crown area = small hairline transplant to fix up the overall look. Will look perfect. However, having read so many things online I’m unsure on whether HT is even worth at all? I understand Dr Bhatti’s hairlines have been questioned in the past also. Questions - pictures attached to assist 1) would I be making my overall remote hair worse by going through with a small hairline HT? Shock loss etc etc 2) Dr Bhattis preferred conservative approach widows peak hairline v my preferred straight rounded look ( I’m not necessarily saying low and aggressive, but surely a hairline is supposed to be straight and Symmetrical? This hasn’t been discussed with Dr Bhatti yet, but do others agree on my preferred hairline look? 3) do people think I would actually be able to hide the transplant area when I return to work after 2/3 weeks? Dr Bhatti has said I can grow my hair out quite a lot to cover it up. Has this worked for other people? I usually keep my hair short at the sides and back and long on top anyway. 4) is a hairline transplant at 26 really worth it, if your hair is going to bald further behind the transplanted hair as they say? The question I suppose is.. WHEN will it bald further?! , something which no one can predict. It could happen shortly after HT or it could happen when I’m 40! Who knows! ( the males in my familia all have full heads of hair) makes it even more confusing? Live for the now ? And worry about the future if we get there ? Any advice, comments or past experiences would be greatly appreciated. Cheers dudes. BennyB
  10. Hi all, I've been lurking on this forum for the past couple of months. Tremendous resource and I know so much more than I did just a few months ago. I have decided that I am going to get a hair transplant to restore density to my hairline and fill in some of my temple angles - although I would be interested if folks here think I am doing this at too young of an age/stage of hair loss... First the basics: Age: 29 Location: Virginia, USA (East Coast / Mid-Atlantic area) Age I started losing hair: Probably really started to notice it around 20 years old. Past Surgeries: None Treatment: Taken Propecia for the past 3 years. It definitely helped. I think it probably added some density in the crown and mid-scalp areas but the temples are still continuing to recede, albeit at a slower pace compared to when I wasn't on propecia. I've used Rogaine on and off but I never felt like it was doing much and it would sometimes give me an itchy scalp so I haven't used it in about 12 months. Ideally I'd like to get off Propecia because I don't like messing with my body's hormones like that and I've felt like the libido side effects have hit me at times (but never bad enough to stop taking the meds). But I am pretty sure that if I were ever to do that then my hair loss would come back with a vengeance...so I'm sort of on the fence about future propecia usage. Most likely procedure: I'm leaning towards FUT Strip at this point Based on a lot of research and consultations I've narrowed my list down to four top doctors (all prices have been converted to $USD so these prices will fluctuate a little bit with exchange rates). Also each doctor's treatment plan / pricing structure is slightly different but I assumed 2,500 grafts so that I could do an apples to apples comparison: All Prices converted to $USD: Dr. Pathomvanich in Thailand - $2.66 per graft for a total cost of $6,700 Drs. Hasson & Wong in Vancouver - $3.91 per graft. Total cost of $9,500 (this price factors in a $800 travel credit) Dr Rahal in Canada - $3.88 per graft. Total cost of $9,700 (this price factors in a $1,000 travel credit and $1,500 in taxes) Dr Gabel in Portland, OR USA - $4 per graft + $500 setup fee = total cost of $10,500 I'm basically looking to balance price with skill/quality. As far as I can tell all of these doctors are very skilled and widely respected. Dr Path is significantly cheaper than the other three (and I go to vacation in Thailand once a year so I was thinking I could kill two birds with one stone and do the surgery while I'm there anyways.) That being said, if the consensus is that one of the other three doctors is far and away a much better surgeon then perhaps I'd reconsider and spend the extra money... I'm leaning towards Dr Path and just scheduled a surgery date for mid Feb'17 (I still have ~10 days to cancel without any penalty though). The price is right and he seems to be quite well respected but I have some concerns: 1. It sounds like his nurses do all of the graft placement - he only handles the strip removal and lateral slit incisions. I would prefer that my doctor is involved in every step of the process (even though I understand it would be impossible for him to plant every single graft) 2. I came across this very negative HT experience that someone had: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/175559-dr-path-poor-results-stay-away-him-3.html 3. In that same thread there are a number of people chiming in saying that Dr Path's results have gone downhill in the past year or two. 4. On the other hand, I have gone through countless threads posted by both patients and by Dr Path himself and the results seem good so I may be allowing a few negative experience to stress me out too much 5. Dr Path received very strong endorsements from Dr Wong (2006) and Dr Parsley (2002) I'd love to get some feedback on (1) How appropriate a HT would be for me at this point in time (2) Which doctor to go with. Thanks everyone! Also, a quick guide to the photos: The ones with a buzzed head are from 2013 and 2014 - As you can see it looks like I'm destined to be a Norwood 6..but Propecia has been very helpful in halting and reversing some of this. Still, noticeable receding hairline and miniaturization of hairs in the front. The one taken outdoors in a grey t shirt was done with pretty wet hair to fully showcase my hair loss The ones outdoors/indoors in a brown jacket were taken at a BBQ so they are showing what the hair looks like in the wild when it is recently cut and styled (hair doesn't look nearly as bad in these angles). No concealers. The selfie style with a sweater on (taken while I'm seated) is probably the best representation of what my hair looks like these days when it is dry and styled normally (no concealers or anything else were used in this photo). The mid-scalp and crown are perfectly acceptable but the front third, hairline, and temples, are what bother me at this point. Lastly, the selfies with no shirt on are what the hair looks like when I comb the hair forward to illustrate the hair loss (I never style my hair like this though)
  11. In this video, I explain in detail the thought process that goes into designing the hairline and the various factors I take into consideration when determining the best approach to each individual's hair restoration. How low/high should the hairline be? How aggressive or conservative should I be? We have 8 different patients in this video and each of them with a different set of circumstances that lead to highly individualized approaches to their respective hair transplants. For more videos and live updates, follow us on Snapchat @drparsamohebi.
  12. This case is a patient with 59 y.o. She did a face lifting and got set back hairline after the procedure. FUT in 2013 with 2,546 F.U / 5,270 hairs and FUE in 2015 with 142 hairs.
  13. Patients are often pleasantly surprised to learn during their initial consultation that our practice does not require patients to shave their head for a follicular unit transplantation (FUT) procedure. As Dr. Wesley operates on only one patient per day, it is much easier to take the time to carefully navigate around the pre-existing hairs during recipient site creation. The benefit to patients occurs not only in the immediate short term (7-10 days) postoperatively when the redness can be better camouflaged by the longer native hairs, but also during the first few months of early growth when the transplanted hairs are just beginning to grow and provide coverage and density. Here is a recent example of a patient who underwent a session of over 2700 grafts to the caudal region of his scalp. You can see that by being able to comb his longer, pre-existing hairs over the incoming base of new hair, he is able to effectively camouflage the new growth and continue to lead a normal lifestyle.
  14. A 46-year-old man came to Dr. Carlos K. Wesley's surgical center in order to return the frontal hair fullness that he once had. A 2343-graft session to the frontal half of his scalp can be viewed before and 12 months later. One important aspect of achieving his results was the use of DFUs (double follicular units) as well as the combined use of PRP and ACell as storage solutions while the grafts were incubating out of the body.
  15. 29 yo man with AGA NW II/III, wanted to start the restoration of his hair line. He underwent a 2070 FUT procedure about two years ago and is very happy with his denser and natural looking hair line. Please Visit:http://www.dallashairloss.com/en/photos/albums/v/55
  16. hello, Today at 7am 1/4/2012 i will be getting a 1600 FUT done by Dr. Rahal, he will fix my hairline and hopefully make Bosely scar less noticeable by closing it off with the Tricho procedure. He stated that i may need future hairtranplants as i am only 21 yrs old. I made the mistake of choosing bosely and i Strongly recommend that NO ONE EVER CHOOSES Bosely for a hair transplant. Dr. Rahal cannot promise me that the scar will be better or worse since it is not of his doing, he has made me fully aware of this. I will post pictures up as soon as my procedure is over. I wish i would have seen this forum earlier, i was just young and desperate to get back my hairline and Bosely Lied to me...Hopefully Dr. Rahal can correct this
  17. I'm a 28yo male with a 9cm hairline and I'm seeking to lower it 2.5cm via grafting. I've consulted several surgeons in preparation for my transplant and all of them tell me that my desired hairline is too low. I have lived with the embarrassment of a large forehead since high school and anything less than 2.5cm will leave me feeling less than confident. I've actually come a long way since 4 months ago when I started considering HT; I originally wanted 3-4cm of lowering. After observing other guy's hairlines I came to realize that my concept of "average" was a bit off. The average non-receded hairline seems to be around 6.5-7cm. I understand that HT surgeons have years of experience and that a hairline needs to be appropriate for both the present and the future. However, I see gray-haired guys with 6cm foreheads all the time. Plus, if I'm paying for a new hairline, why wouldn't I place myself among the lucky minority of guys who never experience recession? So the big question is, who wins? Should I stick to my guns since I won't be happy any other way? Will a surgeon refuse to operate if he doesn't get his way? I don't think I'm being unrealistic here.
  18. This 34 year old gentleman came to me hopeful that I could rebuild his hairline and add more density to the frontal area of his scalp. After establishing his medical history and understanding the progression of his hair loss, I diagnosed his condition as Androgenetic Alopecia (male pattern baldness), ruling out any other possible dermatological or medical conditions which can cause hair loss. The patient’s goal was well suited to his needs and therefore I planned the surgery accordingly. A total of 3,232 grafts were used. The break down was as follows: 1,880 single hair grafts, 1,272 two hair grafts, and 80 three hair grafts. I used significantly more single hair follicular units which allowed me to create a very natural hairline. This action will allow him to expose his hairline without anyone detecting that he has had anything done. More grafts were packed into the frontal 1/3 and less packed farther back into the mid zone. These are his results 7 months post-op with more improvement to come over the next couple of months.
  19. This 56-year-old patient received 2160 FU throughout the frontal third of his scalp. Thickening the hairline and bringing to the temporal recessions to a level that they were at years ago was his stated goal. In addition, we rebuilt his temple anteriorly in order to provide a healthy "base" for the advanced hairline. This patient underwent a trichophytic closure due to the contrast between the color of his hair and his scalp. After pictures are taken 8 months postoperatively.
  20. Gents, I did a search first just to see if this has been covered. If it has, then apologies. You know how different people have different frontal hairlines, so one person might have that triangular 'widow's peak' (like Count Dracula!) or another might have a straightish 'rockabilly' hairline, or another where the temples go deep with the hairline coming out like a pier into the sea (like Bogart!). When you have your transplant, can you 'discuss' the style of the hairline you want? (I don't know what is possible you see). I guess it's almost like 'designing' a new hairline for yourself (so is that possible?). Regards, Campbell
  21. Before Surgery: Advanced androgenetic alopecia of NW 7 He’d shaved the rest of his head or wore a baseball cap to camouflage his baldness. He came to Dr. Umar knowing he did not have enough head donor hair to even attempt strip surgery, or to have a successful FUE procedure without the use of non-head hair. Surgery: This patient had a 2-phased surgery: Phase I: 8000 grafts using beard and some head hair, focusing on hairline design. Phase II: He had another 4000 grafts implanted (results to be posted as they become available). Surgery Results: The result from phase I surgery is hereby posted. The patient was amazed at how well Dr. Umar’s hairline design matched his natural hairline from 18 years prior—without Dr. Umar having ever seen old pictures of the patient. Already, the patient no longer shaves his head or hides under a baseball cap.
  22. This 53-year-old female desired to lower her hairline. Post-operative photographs were taken approximately 20 months after the 1802 FU session. Her stated objective was to "lessen her forehead." This required not only a lowering of her hairline, but also a subtle advancement of her temples so as to provide support for and blending of her newly-transplanted hairline. The profile images (illustrating the contour of her forehead) best demonstrate the positive impact of this advancement.
  23. This 54-year-old male desired filling of his temporal recessions and a subtle advancement of his hairline. With a total of 2172 FU, we were able to not only accomplish these goals as we reinforced the frontal third of his scalp, but also transplant into areas of future loss and temples. During the pre-operative consult, the patient emphasized a natural, "not too dense" appearance along the hairline. He returned 9 months postoperatively very pleased with the age-appropriate results.
  24. This 23-year-old male had a family history of Norwood Type VI pattern hair loss. Using 1854 FU, hairline was designed to not only reinforce his currently-receding hairline and temple, but also address areas of future loss in the lateral humps. He returned less than six months later very pleased with the natural-appearing thickness of his hairline.
