1. #BeforeAndAfterMondays In order to repair a poorly-executed transplant performed by another surgeon, this patient underwent a follicular unit transplantation (FUT) session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 4536 grafts were placed over two sessions. Three unique elements combined to help improve his experience: no-shave requirement for optimal discretion, enhanced graft storage measures, and rigid patient safety standards. As with all of Dr. Wesley’s patients, he was NOT required to cut his hair for the procedure. As a result, this patient was able to return comfortably to work and social activities within approximately 7-10 days of his procedure. The patient’s hair follicles were incubated in platelet rich plasma (PRP) throughout the duration of the procedure. This, combined with an ATP-containing storage solution has been shown to enhance survival of transplanted hairs. Finally, having his procedure performed in our office with the highest standards of COVID precautions helped ensure patient safety. Every patient of Dr. Wesley’s receives a rapid COVID test upon arrival to our office equipped with an ultraviolet air purification system. Measures such as reducing foot traffic by performing virtual consultations at no charge to patients, regular staff COVID testing and no-touch temperature checks of our team that avoids public transportation help preserve our clean and sanitary safe haven. Daily sterilization of the office coupled with the most rigid OR safety precautions further allay patient concerns in this sensitive time. The patient returned two years after his procedure and images of the patient can be seen below. This link illustrates the timing of hair growth after surgery. 3. #BeforeAndAfterMondays This patient underwent a follicular unit extraction (FUE) session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 2801 grafts were placed Three elements combined to help improve his experience: graft harvest, graft storage, and patient safety. Rather than a larger FUE punch used by a robotic approach, Dr. Wesley used a smaller caliber hand-held motorized punch to performed the donor harvest. This approach better enabled the capture of donor intact hair roots that are slightly curved beneath the skin surface. Upon completion of the harvest, the patient’s donor area was treated with PRP and ACell in order to not only minimize scar tissue formation, but also encourage partial regeneration of donor hair follicles. Graft storage was optimized as hair follicles were incubated in autologous (his own) platelet rich plasma (PRP) throughout the duration of the procedure. This, combined with an ATP-containing storage solution has been shown to enhance survival of transplanted hairs. 4. We hope that this series of images help clarify the surgical pattern that this patient experienced.

8. Actually this patient was not taking finasteride or any other medications so this is just from the procedure. This was a traditional FUT procedure
9. #BeforeAndAfterMondays This 33-year-old man underwent a follicular unit transplantation (FUT) session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 2633 grafts were placed. 11. #BeforeAndAfterMondays While all patients emphasize the importance of a natural-appearing hair transplant, this 33-year-old male was particularly adamant. This young man underwent a follicular unit transplantation FUT session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 2644 grafts were placed. The patient’s hair follicles were incubated in platelet rich plasma PRP throughout the duration of the procedure. This, combined with an ATP-containing storage solution has been shown to enhance survival of transplanted hairs. 12. #BeforeAndAfterMondays This dedicated 33-year-old did it! By painstakingly capturing images of his scalp each day following his 2453 graft follicular unit transplantation FUT session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley and team, he created a time lapse of his hair growth. The patient’s hair follicles were incubated in platelet rich plasma PRP throughout the duration of the procedure. Patients have heard of the possible "shock loss" of pre-existing hairs following the procedure as well as the recovery. This video helps illustrate the process. As with all of Dr. Wesley’s patients, he was NOT required to cut his hair for the procedure. As a result, this patient was able to return comfortably to work and social activities within approximately 7-10 days of his procedure. In addition to capturing this detailed series of images at home, the patient also returned to the United Sates one year after his procedure and images of the patient can be seen in the video.
