  1. 10/18/2020: Airport pickup and hotel drop-off Travelled from Chicago to Istanbul on 17th, Reached 18th October. Surgery was scheduled for 20th October. I had opted for the Exclusive Package. Landed Istanbul at 4:30 pm via direct Turkish Air flight. My brother also joined me from Stockholm to give me company. Got picked up from the airport and dropped off at the hotel (about 45 min drive). The overall pickup and drop off process was extremely smooth. Confirmed arrival via message to Meder (Clinic Rep). Had the next day to ourselves, which we spent discovering Istanbul. 10/20/2020 The Surgery Day: Picked up from the hotel at 0800. Was told to have a breakfast so made sure I ate slightly more than my appetite, was also instructed not to take any coffee. Arrived at the clinic with 3 other guys in the same transport van. Upon arrival our passports were taken and I was taken to a room for blood draw, the canula was left in the arm. Next I was taken upstairs to meet Dr. Cinik. The Doctor asked standard questions about medical history and then proceeded to check my hair. He drew the hair line which i was happy with and commented that my donor area looked good, and that we should expect good results. He said that the surgery will take 7 hours and that we will start soon. The doctor consultation was about 5 -6 minutes in total. Photographs were taken next , following which I was taken to another room for making the payment. Paid the amount in cash. Was taken to another room for the hair cut where I was given a 0 cut with a trimmer. All these steps were very well choreographed and everyone involved seemed to know what they were doing. I was then taken to the surgery room by the same guy and girl who did my haircut. Both looked really young and I wasn't expecting them to be a part of the process , more on that later. The room itself had a one of those massage beds and a side table with a few syringes and vials of medicine. I was given a gown(back open) to change into in place of my shirt, and was provided a pair of those hotel type sandals to wear. The process begins: At around 0900 the actual process started, with the same guy and girl mentioned above had me lie face down on the massage bed and told me that they will be administering the needle free pre anesthetic(had paid 250 EURO for that). I was a bit concerned as I was expecting someone more older to do this process, however both of them seemed to be in control. The pain free anesthetic, as other folks have also mentioned, is basically a contraption where they pull the plunger under pressure and then fire it with the medicine on your skin. It definitely has to have some type of a needle as it leaves a puncture mark on the skin. After what seemed like about 20-30 of these hits all around the back of my head this process was done. At this point I was a little concerned as each of the above mentioned hits caused me a considerable amount of pain and I kept thinking if this is painless , what would the next one be? It hurt certain areas more than the other such as the back of the ears which I feel sore even now. Once done with this step, they announced that they are now administering regular anesthesia and also something to the effect of telling me to control my pain 😝. What followed was the worst 25-30 minutes of the whole process. I don't know what the painless thing in the beginning did because I felt each puncture of the needle and then the liquid burning through my skin. I do have a low pain threshold and someone with a higher tolerance to pain might be ok with it but to me this was the worst pain that I endured for 30 minutes that seemed like forever. From their reaction it seemed like they were surprised that I still had pain and had to be given more anesthesia. Eventually it worked and I couldn't feel anything anymore. I had been lying on my face all this time and this was slightly uncomfortable at this point as your face is squished between the hole in the bed and you are not supposed to move. The team in the room was joined by another lady and they announced that they will be performing the harvesting process now. Again this process had to be continued with me facing down and they moved me around a couple of times during the next hour and a half that followed. I didn't feel any pain during this process, I could hear the motor humming continuously and every 10 minutes they would stop to pull out the hair that were extracted. Dr. Cinik came in for the next step and spent the next 50 minutes performing the channel opening. I was sitting upright and this part of the process was painless as well, infact i dozed off a few times during this process and time seemed to just fly by. I had an IV line in during this process which I was told was an antibiotic. I took a bathroom break after this step and then was provided with a quick lunch. The next step was the actual transplant process, which again was performed by the same 3 member team that started the process. The injections on the front side of the head weren't as bad as the back ones and was injected about 10 times before I started feeling the numbing effect. I was glad that I was not lying on my face at this stage and again dozed off a few times during this process. This process took another couple of hours and I was then bandaged up on the back of the head and assisted out of the room. The overall process took about 6.5 hours. I was given a bag with medicine , a file containing all the information, a hat, inflatable travel pillow and was informed on how to sleep. I was also told to come back the following day for check up and hair wash. Reached back to the hotel and slept early as I was very tired. Kept waking up during the night due to the unfamiliar sleeping position, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I also started seeing some swelling in the head. The next morning after breakfast I was again picked up dropped at the Clinic, the doctor took a look at the head and said that everything looked good but that he expected the swelling to move downwards. I was given a head wash and then given a very detailed briefing on what to do and how to take care of my head for the next weeks and months. I was also given a headband to wear after the wash and an extra one to wear the next day. I recorded all of the instructions on my phone in case I forgot any details. I was also told that I didn't need to come back the next day and was OK to fly without visiting the clinic again. The swelling continued to increase during the day and the next day. Flew back next day and reached home late at night. Today is the 6th day and the swelling has diminished quite a lot, thankfully it never crept down to the eyes and stayed above the band that I wore for 2 days. I will attach some pictures and keep posting the updates. I have also created a couple of youtube videos documenting my journey and plan to post updates there too. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
  2. Hello everyone, I am looking for your suggestions and recommendations for choosing a place for a HT I have been actively researching in different forums and been taking consultation from various clinic. Honestly, the more I research the more confused and indecisive I get. So I would greatly appreciate if you could pitch in your thoughts. Information about me: Age: 26 currently not on min or fin, but planning to start after the procedure. budget ~ 2,000€ (max 2,300) Offers I Have received from clinics. 1. Dr. Cinik- 4,000+ grafts; 2,090€(Fue)/ 2,340€ (sapphire fue); Consultation with doctor, Tech will do the entire procedure. 2. Cosmedica (Dr. Acar)- 4500+ grafts; 2,100€ (2,800 if more than 4500 graft is required because that will require mega session); Consultation with doctor, Tech will do the entire procedure. 3. Fuecap (Dr. Turan)- Denied, suggested it's too early for a HT, and recommend I take Fin and Min for 6-8 months to strengthen miniaturized hair and then they can revisit my case. 4. Dr Biçer- 3,000 grafts (although you need more than 4000 grafts. Because you are 26 and you have high risk to lose your current hair related with hormones. If that happens, you will need another sessions in the future. She wants to protect your donor area for the future and she wants to stop around 3000); 1.5 €/ grafts = 4,500€ + 350€ (hotel and transfer). Doctor will do most of the procedure. 5. Dr. Resul Yaman- 4,500 grafts; 2350$ (sapphire fue) / 3250$ (DHI); Doctor will do the incision, tech will do extraction and implantation. 6. Suzermed/Dr. Fatih Oztürk (through Qunomed)- 3,500-4,000 grafts; €1,850 (Fue); Doctor will do the incision, tech will do extraction and implantation. 7. Dr. Ziya Yavuz (through Qunomed)- 3,500-4,000grafts; €1,810 (Fue); Doctor will do the incision, tech will do extraction and implantation. 8. Smile Hair Clinic (through Qunomed)- €1,640(Fue); Consultation with doctor, Tech will do the entire procedure. 9. E&S Tetik: 4,000-4,500 grafts; €2,000 (DHI); Nurses will do the entire procedure. 10. Asmed/ Dr. Erdogan: 5,000 grafts; € 7,500(Tech) / €9,500 (tech+doc)/ €12,500(Doc). My thoughts, Fuecap was my first choice, but unfortunately they refused to do it. Dr. Resul Yaman quoted quite low (surprisingly) but I read quite a few bad reviews and not satisfied by his results. Same goes for Dr. Yavuz and Smile Hair clinic. Couldn't find much about suzermed/ Dr.Fatih ozturk Dr. Erdogan & Dr. Biçer are out of my budget. I am leaning towards Cinik/ Cosmedica based on the results on this and other forums, but since they are hairmill it could be a hit or miss, as I do not know which tech team will perform the surgery. (unfortunately beggers can't be choosers). I am also considering E&S tetik, they are 2 nurses who do most of the job and are not a Hair mill (does 3 patient per week), They are also pretty popular in the Turkish hair transplant forum. Please let me know if you any other clinic recommendations or suggestions.
  3. Hello Ladies and Gentlemen! After so many years, I am finally taking the gumption and undergoing an FUE procedure with Dr. Cinik. I have been umming and arring for too long and after seeing some amazing results I decided to pull the trigger! I originally wanted to go with Dr. Koray Erdoğan but due to finances I am going with Dr. Cinik. His work has been well represented on several other forums and I've seen a few pop up here. I've been loosing my hairline since I was 18 and after 12 years of postponing it, the universe lined up for me to be able to make it happen. As an English actor living in Los Angeles, I live in a town where looks sometimes overshadow talent, so I have decided that I am going to take the best of both worlds and make myself as marketable as possible (with versatile hair). As much as wigs and styling have helped in the past, I am a point where my hair is constantly on my mind...did the wind blow? How does it look when I get out the pool/ocean? Is the camera picking up the receding hairline?. ..pretty much the all the thoughts going through everyone's mind on this forum! I am scheduled for approx. 3500 grafts, to the frontal third of my head, on Tuesday Dec 12th in Istanbul and I am excited and nervous! Looking at the future I am excited to see what it brings me with a new full head of hair, even if it's just confidence in the wind haha! I'll keep you all updated over the course of the weeks so that people can use me as a resource if they want. Attached are the pics that I sent the doctor, so you can see where my progression started at. I am fortunate that I have very thick donor hair, so I am excited to see how the grafts to hair ratio!
  4. At the tender age of 44 and after many a year of feeling down at the fact I was loosing my hair I’ve finely decided it’s time to get a hair transplant. Around two months ago in the space of half a day I received two smart remarks about my lack of hair, one from a friend and the other a co-worker and thought that’s it enough is enough, but interestingly on the same day I seen an advertisement for Qunomedical who specialise in a number of different procedures with various Doctors worldwide. I would like to point out at this stage this is not an advertisement for either Qunomedical or Dr Cinik and I have not received any payment from either. I decided to contact Qunomedical via email and an hour later I got a call from Megan, now normally I would shy away from talking about my hair loss but to be honest Megan has the most calming Irish accent I have ever heard and the conversation between us just felt natural and flowed. Megan asked me to email her over photos of how I look (below) and said she’d be back in touch, three days later she got in touch to tell me that she had spoken to Dr Cinik and they could do approx 2500 grafts which would cover approx 60%. If I’m honest when I heard I could only get 2500 grafts I was a little disappointed and did consider forgetting about it. Megan then came back the next day and said that they had requested a second opinion from Dr Cinik and after reviewing my photos again he said that they could probably manage 3500 covering 80% but the likelihood is that I’d need two transplants, one year apart. I would say that the photos below are the photos I sent, I had just shaved the head and to be fair I do actually have some hair on the top of my head but the lighting/angles certainly have done me no favours, also over the last few years I’ve always felt that I should shave my head a number 2, in hindsight I kind of wish I never now as I’ve left my hair for the last month to grow prior to getting the HT and no longer do I feel or look so harsh like I did with a shaved head, clearly that look works for some but for me no! Wish I had realised that 3 years ago, never mind!!! So after many a question to Megan and the detail that she was providing me I think all in all this reassured my that going with Qunomedical would be the right thing to do as they have direct contact with the hospitals, they are fully audited and they know what questions to ask, so based on the above and after receiving a fully detailed quote, the flights were booked! ? The time has now finally arrived after booking my flights at the end of August, tomorrow is the 5th November and I will fly to Istanbul for my procedure, am I nervous, not really when it comes to the actual event, I’m more concerned about how I will look afterwards, and not flying home looking like the elephant man. I am fortunate enough that I can work from home for the first couple of weeks so by the end of that period I’m hopeful all will have calmed down. Over the last few months I’ve watched a number of videos on YouTube and read a number of posts on sites like this with people sharing their experiences of having FUE hair transplants, now I’m no actor so YouTube videos will not be happening, however I will keep this thread up to date so that people can see my progress and ask me any questions they may have if considering getting the same procedure done! As they say, I will see you on the other side!
  5. Hey all follicle fighters, Finally took the plunge and went to Turkey for my HT. All went well and got 3175 grafts FUE extraction with DHI insertion. Doctor Cinik was hesitant to touch crown and midscalp due to possible shock loss as my hair is thin and finasteride needs time to work as only been on it 2 months (this is also advice I got on this forum: Thank you!). The worst part by far was the initial anaesthesia injections hurt like a cunt. All the rest was easy tho and you do get used to it really quick, almost was fun! Lucky for me, we had very few extra grafts at the end of the session and I suggested to implant on crown area. Doubting when and if I should continue with Minoxidl after transplant as had kept getting excessive shed with it. What do others think? I had used it for 2 months prior. a little history for me: my hair has seen it all. First accutane at 15 years old caused thinning, then anabolic steroids (tren dianabol test) at 18 years old ruined what was left. I also have MPB in the family, even some woman loose their hair in their 70s so I will be on finasteride for life. I will update with pictures as the journey progressess. Before and after OP pics attached, I am very optimistic with this surgery! Thanks, Sam
  6. Hi all, Thanks to many of you posting your experiences and photos I have finally decided to have a hair transplant mostly for my receding hairline. When the number of days after a hair cut it took for my hair to look good increased from 5, to 10, to 14, to 30, I knew something had to be done, and I am truly appreciative of the amazing options we have available to us in this day and age. There is some thinning to the crown but I was not bothered by it (below photo is quite a harsh view of it) Of the 3 options available, I opted for the DHI method in which they use utilise choi pens to implant the hairs for a denser result. Apparently a DHI expert is flown in to conduct the operation. Grafts: 2800 Date: 1st September 2018 PRE operation pics These are all 'best hair' photos - hair grown long to hide the recession. I rarely allowed photos when my hair was short.
  7. Hi there, hoping you may be able to assist. I am confirmed to head to turkey to see dr Cinik early January 20 with him doing the canals and overseeing the procedure. i have been receding for a number of years, am almost 40 and the only reason I haven’t so far is the downtime required as am in a senior head of sales and marketing position with a conservative firm. I am quoted to have 2-2500 grafts through FUE method and sedation. my question is whether 6 weeks will be enough time for the redness and swelling to go as am client facing? the clinic has been very helpful however feel like I could lend some advice from people that have had it done rather than an attempted sales pitch. any pics of stages would be much appreciated and any tips for a speedy recovery Thanks I’m advance
  8. Hi, My name is Guy Chrust, 34 years old, happily married and father of two gorgeous girls. I have been bald for 14 years, and during my childhood, I always knew I'll be baled, as my alder brother and father are bald. It never bothered me i'm going to be a bald man, and on the age of 20, I started to shave my head and accept the baldness. My daughters know me only with a bald head. 4 Months ago during July 2018 I saw a post on one of the group pages I follow that was written by a special guy named Aviad Biton, telling his private story about the hair transplant he made at Dr Cinik clinic. For the first time that I actually see someone who really performed this procedure, and he is satisfied with the results, and it has been only a few months after the treatment. Now, as I wrote earlier, the baldness has never bothered, and I barely thought about it. Deep down, I have thought about it, cause I always tell everyone how much I missed moving my hand in my hair. After reading Aviad's post, with not a lot of believes that I'm suitable for the hair transplant, I sent Aviad photos of my head, Aviad forward the photos to Cinik's clinik and they replied him back with the first diagnosis, 3500 grafts with 70% cover. I realized that I must meet him and see the results in person, and so it happened. My wife and I met Aviad a few days later, it took only 5 minutes for me to understand that the hair transplant is something I want for the past 14 years without acknowledging it. On the way home after our meeting, we decided to start the procedure. Aviad organized a delegation from Israel to Turkey during October, I booked a flight for the samed dates, and from now it's all in Cinik's hands... We arrived Turkey on the 16th of October and EVERYTHING went as expected and as promised, there was a driver waiting for us at the airport, he took us to the hotel, which is located 2 minute walk to the hospital where the hair transplant is performed. On the next day, "The big day", I arrived to the hospital and met for the first time the Dr. Because most of my head was bald, Cinik and I agreed that we will meet for another session in one year, after Cinik will diagnose my head. And from there the long treatment day starts. I started the treatment very early in the morning and finished the transplant after 9 hours, luckily my father was with me the whole time and took care of me and my needs. I arrived the hotel after the treatment, and then realized how many bald man are doing this treatment. The next day, we arrived the clinik in order to be checked and removing the bandages, and from there directly to the airport. I can say that the decision to do a hair transplant changed my life, even though it has been only 19 days since. I feel much younger and full of self confidence. I will keep this post updated with photos every few weeks in order to see the progress. Attached photos of me before and after.
  9. Hi all, im 10 days post FUE 4200 grafts and was wondering what you guys think about my hair density? It seems thin to me but what do you think? I know it’s hard to tell results wise but what are your initial reactions? Cheers.
  10. Hi everyone. I have been lurking on these forums for some time now and decided to make an account. I have even thinning throughout my scalp (from receding hairline, to mid-scalp, to vertex). I am not on finasteride because I'm nervous about side effects but would be willing to try in the future. I have contacted a few doctors and have been quoted 3000-3500 grafts. I'm from the United States and am currently looking at doctors (Cinik, Erdogan, H&W, Diep, Alexander, etc...). 1) Is there a reason Dr. Cinik is not recommended by this website? All the reviews/cases I have seen from him seem excellent. 2) For H&W - do you get to choose which doctor does your procedure? They seem to be mainly FUT. I have not seen many large scale FUE procedures by them. Are they a reputable FUE option for 3000+ grafts? My favorite option is Dr. Erdogan due to his results, KEEP tactic, and relatively good price compared to FUE in the states. Dr. Cinik is a close 2nd behind him. Thanks for the responses in advanced!
