Personally tried to follow that link on my mobile using the app and it gives me an error. Tried to manually search it on the page and couldn't find it. I can't recall log in details so didn't want to sign in on desktop lol.

Might have to.

Yes, it gives me a grey static screen and error message. No way to rewind to the beginning of the video it seems.

Maybe my app just doesn't want to play nice.

I think my app needs updating. I have had it show up on the link using a browser but it only let me refresh a few times before asking me to sign up. Might try again soon. Interested to watch.

How did I not see this thread? My goodness Melvin you are a legend. How old are you and how much have you spent in total on your 4 surgeries? I'm just curious

36 enough to buy a brand new car. But a car depreciates in value, and my hair keeps appreciating 😆

Enjoyed the video. The immediate post op photos are extremely clean.

You get a good idea how things are turning out pretty quickly at the end of the video. The temple points are nice and flat, and blended perfectly with the side of your hair. It's not even been a month yet.

Now the waiting begins. Who else is excited?

Unfortunately science doesn’t work like that - you’re comparing apples to oranges.

I know MPMD claimed that this was the case for him not experiencing sides when he ran dutasteride and got had almost 99% of his serum DHT suppressed, however each and everyone of us are unique, some can get back by with reductions in DHT, others not so well. Equally, some can have higher levels of free test compensate for lower saturation levels of DHT, others can’t.

I've read conflicting research on this. DHT is the hormone for sex differentiation as a fetus, however testosteron is primarily responsible for the development of secondary male sex characteristics. I know there are studied on rats taking test with fin and test without fin showing that DHT was responsible for erectile function, but it humans it doesnt appear as straight forward.

There are studies showing that people with 5 AR deficiencies going through viralisation as a result of testosterone (as the DHT is virtually non existent). I think it depends on the type. There are also studied showing DHT therapy to increase penis length in micropenis patients before but not if prescribed after puberty. DHT doesnt seem to play as big of a role after puberty as before in this sense. Total testosterone levels appear to affect libido and erectile function though.

I had really noticeable side effects from fin, but my test was low for my age, I'm thinking of trying it for 3 months, and then seeing if hCG eliminates the side effects, all while measuring T, estradiol and dht.

How's that beard looking these days?

I just trimmed my beard to a #1 two days ago. So far, the only section that looks a bit shocked is right below where I normally shave. The actual beard looks identical to how it did before surgery. I feel I can get another 1500 easily.

I forgot that Eugenix live streamed my procedure on YouTube @NARMAK I know you had issues on Instagram, so check out the video here

Thanks Melvin. I caught some of the YouTube video that wasn't age restricted but that said, i actually managed to get the Instagram live link working again and watched it. Pretty solid breakdown of how the follicles are checked under magnification and i actually knew Dr Sethi in his Temple Point YouTube breakdown said how the hairs have to be lighter, less pigmented and slower growing but when i watched that video, i actually had an extra layer added.

Dr Sethi specifically mentioned how the single grafts at the outer edges are those slower growers and softer, but the actual inner parts get more strong and dense to help with the transition across the entire temple points.

I learned so much with just that little tidbit so that when hopefully i can get mine done, i know what to ensure the Dr is doing and talk that through.

So impressive how they managed the donor in all areas for you Melvin. That was a major requirement for you and Eugenix delivered big time! Your beard looks completely untouched. Magnificent work all around, with the best soon to come!!!

@Melvin- Moderator

I get your point of getting the FUE to avoid the scars and Eugenix only does FUE.

But I am not sure if you got a chance to ask Dr. Sethi, that it is always said, people with limited donor area, it is generally suggested to go with FUT,   FUT is like more grafts, can cover larger area, lesser grafts damaged and also preserve donor area. Is that true? Or just a myth

1st sitting ~4500-5000 grafts (FUT+FUE+chest), 1st June 2021, India

I'm not Melvin, but the idea of "maximising" your donor with FUT procedure is down to the idea that the strip they cut allows them to more accurately extract and dissect grafts. Then the closing of the strip let's them basically sew that huge area shut again, to a point where the density is almost looking 100% untouched. In many ways, having a clean linear scar be hidden amongst the density that still visually looks and probably is stronger.

FUE usually pokes out across a larger area, with the idea being that it's targeting uniform density by spreading it out over a larger area, that might be outside a "safe zone" at times which the FUT strips tend to target more.

Bear in mind that if you have a limited donor area in the first place, cutting a strip out and then sewing it together is going to shrink the way that safe donor area looks too.

So in either FUT or FUE, you're probably a bad candidate.

Going FUT, I do feel can maximize additional grafts, but there are risks and complications. Risk of scar stretching, hair changing directions in the incision, and the hair may even miniaturize and become unusable below and above the incision line. I weighed the pros and cons, and for me FUE was the right choice. But for others FUT may be a better alternative. There’s no right or wrong answer.

Interesting - didn't know about that. Do you mean the hair on either side of the scar can change direction?

Yes, it happens a lot in the tricophytic closure technique.82E8906D-09BC-4566-BA9D-B36972EEB44B.jpeg

Thanks for sharing Melvin.

What an excellent journey, from analysis to execution.

From the pictures it seems like there's no scarring in your beard. If you shaved, would you not be able to see any scarring at all? Would you recommend this procedure for those who prefer to be clean shaven?
