  1. Risk is still a risk and no one can predict if it happens to you or doesn’t. It can totally mess up the procedure if it happens. There are top surgeons that had patients document necrosis across forums. Goal is to detect it aoon so it can probably be treated effectively then to have it treated later. Best of luck.
  2. Sometimes it better to have a doctor that is a straight talker from the beginning and tell you realistically what he/she can do, instead of doctors, that lead you to believe things will be this and that through elaborate marketing and head nodding in consultation meetings when you mention your goals and concerns. Dr Feller is a straight talker, but i think he has limited powers to what he can say if few paying docs go against him. He doesnt post on here as much though. I have noticed that myself.
  3. Dr Wong is probably a good place to start when it comes to advanced repair techniques. Heard his Ethics are top notch. Good luck.
  4. Its the doctor that doesnt harm you, the one that does not do anything unethical. Doesn’t cause issues that are detrimental to your scalp. I personally heard Dr Wong is very ethical and will do what he can safely. Patient safety is key. Achieving yield without harm to scalp is key. Some peoples lives can ruin or folks can rethink life if “Priceless” grafts are wasted and scalp is damaged where it seems there is no return. Nothing matters until the scalp is fixed along with the goals reached. You dont want anyone to look at your scalp and tell you you are balding or question if you had a hair transplant after you actually had a transplant.
  5. Ok even if you use other hairs from other sources (beard, body, pube, ass, nape, whatever source) the surgeons procedure may fail. I would not take part in any type of surgical hair restoration because youll risk scarring. In fact you may end up with ridging or cobblestoning which may impact any hair system negativly. With FUE you can risk halos and permanent shockloss inclysive if dot scarring, with FUT same thing but with an unexpected scar. Be really careful, trust me. Fml
  6. Actually, there are more failures no one sees. I have gotten countless number of messages across multiple forums where folks went in more than once to correct or “Attempt” to correct a procedure. This is true for patients of some forum boosted praised doctors on some forums. Means some top docs. Most folks are afraid to speak up or have bad memories when posting. Its not about personal secrecy as it is about ramification. But there are multiple technicalities across numerous agreements that can make them null and void. You just have to document everything really good and write the right lines to protect yourself.
  7. Cobblestoning and ridging are probably the worst feeling things. Just be careful, folks say it can be temporary but it can also be permanent needing further surgery to correct it. Fml
  8. Lookin good man (looks natural)! Cant wait to see your updates. Wish you the best.
  9. Regardless if doctor is cheap or expensive, it may work for you, it may not. As long as a doctor has a proper surgical protocol, your chances of success may be better. You can go to a doctor that charges more and still be a repair patient. Certain expensive doctors do not even do all aspects of the surgery as techs and nurses may do surgical aspects. So, cheap vs expensive does not matter, what matters is the surgical protocol and ethics. Proceed carefully. Wish you the best and good luck.
  10. Id hold off and consider shaving head for now. Try meds under doc supervision. You would have a lot of real estate to cover with limited donor ammo. If something goes off, you can be in a far worse situation you are in. Trust me on that one. I am a sufferer. Proceed with caution. Best wishes.
  11. If the marines constitute it as a tatoo/or medical disqualifier, it can be an issue. Naturally, marines can have shaved hair, medium reg cuts, or high n tight cuts. Ive seen a captain with a shaved head and a nasty strip scar, but he probably got it before the service.
  12. You know this got me thinking. Whoever did his initial smp did a good job. If you get good smp like that you can always wear a hairpiece to give it that new york style fade/brooklyn look. When you take the hairpiece off you still have a clean cut stubble look. This would be good for high norwood cases hoping to get a good look. I am wondering if that type of smp can help repair patients with donor depletions to give them a solid fade look and to remove the halos all around the scalp? The second person to so call fix his smp clearly messed up big time. Those strange looking temples are disgusting. Some hair surgeons even create those types of temples thus the patient needs to go back fix them or try to.
  13. Dr Lindsey, so true. Those simulations always seem to make things better than they reallly will be. Even when it comes to seeing showcase results, they are showcase for a reason and it seems few end up that way. It makes the patient think that will be me. It is deceptive but that is how some marketing techniques are. Thanks for putting out great info on these topics.
  14. Wow, thats looks amazing. Dr Nadimi did an excellent job. So natural and it doesnt even give a tell tale sign that any surgery took place. It isnt see through. It is clearly a top notch result. Manual + fue clearly looks like a safer approach versus motorized, or robotic, or suction based options. I personally am thinking it is safer for most hair types to go manual versus the heat and torsion from other devices. Yield is phenomenal. Some folks wish they had it this way in the first place. Your doctor definitely did not let you down and clearly performed this procedure with a great safe surgical protocol. Congrats!
  15. One and done. Amazing density for the number of grafts. Doctor did a fantastic job and clearly looks natural. No one can think it is a hair transplant. Great work. You definitely did well and this is clearly a success. Very happy for you. Congrats.
  16. No you may not get enough density in second pass. It depends on how much damage you may have had as a result of the first pass. That scar tissue can be a major factor and how much you may have. It will probably be worse each time as the “soil” has been impacted. But if you still have good vascularization then a highly experienced repair doc may be able to help by angling and inserting grafts wisely. Trust me on that one. Approach it carefully, some folks shouldve gotten proper result in the first pass and should not have to suffer trying to get out of a very screwed up situation.
  17. Yea i think you are maxed out with growth at 8-10 months. I really do not think SIGNIFICANT hair changing growth occurs beyond that.
  18. The best doctor would be the one that extracts safely and prevents harms or long term harms to the patient. That includes keeping patient goals in mind and naturally creating a result that does not create questions from folks. You definitely do not want folks staring at your scalp after surgery, trust me on that one. It is good to go to a very ethical doctor that does not try to run away from his/her mistakes, and let a patient suffer. Ive spoken to numerous prospective patients and those who were harmed by surgery. Proceed with this carefully. I know quite a few patients of well known docs that were harmed and suffering with no recourse or help from the docs. Based on this knowledge, there are few docs that I feel truly have patient health, safety, interests in mind. Ill be more than glad to help. .
  19. Is there a lot of scar tissue or ridging or cobblestoning near the plugs?
  20. I am glad your repair was successful. It isn’t the same for many folks. It is the worst feeling to go through. I happen to know it all too well.
  21. This is a very tough sutuation. You will need to see an expert hairline repair doc. That hairline does send signals of a HT. Your hair behind it is too dense to support it. Now, depending on if you have ridging and cobblestoning in the recipient zone, you will have to approach this repair carefully. Trust me on that one. Since the area is already impacted, it may diminish your chances of getting very high density result. These are things I wasn’t aware of. I definitely hope you get this sorted and your goal is answered. Last thing I would want is for anyone to be a repair patient. Best wishes and vest of luck.
  22. If 3000 grafts yield at at least a 99% survival rate, it can help. But youll need more. It all depends on graft survivals, if you go for 3000 grafts but only 1500 survive, you will be chasing repairs and using up donor. You are basically taking a 50/50 shot at this. Trust me, if you really want to go through with this, you may want to do a small session first to see if any and the count number of grafts that actually grew. I know far too many repair patients that are stuck at the moment.
  23. Non surgical options at this point is probably the safest decision you are making. Looking at your coverage area and donor, you do not want to run into issues. If you do, you'll waste money and donor and cause damage to your recipient sites if things fail. Non surgical is the best way to go unless you are sure for certain a few more hairs will change you completely and if you feel surgery will absolutely transform you. I hope things turn out well for you, but be careful. Best of luck
  24. I wouldnt do anything right now. Save yourself the heartache and hassle. If you end up being a repair case, you will regret it as your supply of donor is low. This is a very dangerous game. All that marketing some docs use, honestly, i now can see it isnt really how it is for 95% of the folks that do this surgery (i might be being generous with that number as most docs will show you less than 1% of their clients online). Be really careful and trust me, it is very damaging physically and emotionally when docs do not deliver safely nor ethically.
  25. You will need a lot more via FUE to get better coverage. Tread wisely, it is very risky.
