  1. Hair did grow but may need refining in front. I’d approach with caution. Did they do any pro treatments and where did you go? in the meantime, you can get toppik and a pump applicator to fill in it to a point that may be comfortable for you. It can work since you have workable hair to create the illusion if and when you go to refine, some grafts with lat slit positioning may help. Do not have them use nape hairs. Beard hairs may be better for crown points vs midscalp. See if you can have manual extraction to extract hairs. May yield more viable grafts vs other techniques in most hands. now, hairsystems these days are pretty decent but obviously it is the maintenance factor. If for some reason you go that route, a natural frontal hairline by surgery with a system behind it can also be an option. age 30 is early, you can wait to see in 3-5 years how it progresses if it does. Normally, wait 18-24 months before a second procedure in sane zone so you can see how growth cycles play out
  2. How have things and efficacy improved today? Especially, with PRP injections? Have they gotten better and are results more distinct? has anyone gotten PRP injections esp more than once and what can they say about it?
  3. Davey, your repair is coming along well. I am trying to get mine repaired for the longest time and seeing this gives hope.
  4. This is a great approach. Take it nice and slow and see what type if yield is achievable on your scalp. Start with front half, but dont do the crown right away. Let meds fill it in and in any case you should keep surgeries at least 1 year or more apart so you can fully gauge results.
  5. Try meds for year first. Yes, breaking up procedures a 12-15 months apart not a bad idea. Less time grafts are out of body, and yes, every min counts. You can see without wasting too many grafts on how the yield comes out. Aside from that, if you need a repair (hopefully not), then you are really looking out for your limited grafts to make sure you have enough ammo later for any touch ups later
  6. Khanate, wait at least 8 months to a year id you started meds so you can let that hair that will regrow, manifest itself. Then you can see exactly what you will need. id say this was close to norwood 4/5 with vertex thinning/loss. The graft counts certainly seem lower, but again, this is dependent on your head size dimensions. For density, 3200 may be on the lower side. 4000-4500 grafts with proper frontal framing is more realistic (may even cover a little into the crown). Remember, a good lateral slit technique can make the hairline look much more natural and can amplify the illusion a bit more. Get more consults to see what different docs suggest. sirji zara dek kay
  7. Please research for at least a year before you make a decision. You got surgeons folks mentioned above. But dont let location be a factor. Consult with docs all over and see if they give similar graft estimates (this is key), you can even do virtual consults that provide estimates. Try to find patients that had the procedure with similar goals as you. You can ask surgeons if they have anyone that can meet in person. Ask for tons of examples with your hair type, texture, and similar goals. No ones wants to end up as a repair patient and this is coming from someone that needs a repair. Best wishes to you.
  8. Sepend97, dont worry just yet. Let it all grow out 9-12 months. Angulation is important but its hard to tell when hair is short. I am a guy in need of repair and im really hoping to get my happiness back. I wouldnt want anyone else to feel terrible . Id rather you not think negative about it and just let it grow without any added stress. Give it 9 months at the least before making a jusgement. Just take pics every month to keep track so you have a record. Best wishes and hope you get what you seek when this is all done.
  9. Proper Hairline creation is important. When patient says lateral slit, that is important too for hairline creation and a surgeon who says they can do lateral slit should know how to deliver it successfully. If someone can give you a natural result with lower number of grafts, that is very important. Aside from that, folks with extremely larger norwood scales that have no hope, should proceed with caution. If any person wanted to see in person, fue, nape and bht and how things look, well, I can meet in person if you are local. OP if you are local, I can show in person for a real example.
  10. Dr Mwamba seems to have natural looking hairlines. If you are going for a small procedure, he sure has the results to show for it. Based on my experiences with nape bht cal, I wasnt repaired successfully and still struggling.
  11. Bravo! Looks amazing. What a result. Amazing what this doctor did with 3600 grafts. Doctor, have you repaired other surgeons poor work? If the area has been scarred, can you still work on it? Do you have any results from repair patients as well you can share?
  12. Great post! Lighting matters for some folks indeed, but for folks with a failure or bad result, it looks really bad with it on or off. Even if you step in and out of a pool with lighting changes— can make some varying differences. Hair concealers can show more with there is more lighting vs lower light levels. Macho, Sean, Melvin, You guys above look great either way in light. I’d be happy to be in those shoes . Wish I can turn back time. Trying to still get repaired to get out of the situation. Even if I apply toppik, it looks unnatural due to shocked hairs, gaps, and some scarring. Left hanging but trying to survive this all.
  13. Hey Tim, this reminds me of me when starting my journey. Try meds for a full year first to see how they respond. And if you can tolerate them, continue to take them. I would not recommend surgery based on experience. I ended up being scarred and my goals were not addressed and it was utter failure. My loss wasn’t even that bad in the beginning but getting a lot of grafts in a frontal zone and what not led to issues. My frontal area may have been similar to yours and i wish I can turn back time but now left hanging trying to get repaired due to false promises. If you ever want to see it in person and in NY/NJ area, I am willing to show you exactly the issues and breakdowns. Oh and it doesnt matter how much supply you have. You can be told you have more than 10,000 grafts in your donor, but if done wrong, then it doesn’t make things better and you can have density losses in your donor that look bad even when you get a fade.
  14. If you get the temples done and you recede further you would be chasing and worrying about hair transplants over and over. it is way too risky and if something goes wrong, it may not match angulation and density. Right now, your natural ones look great and natural. Just giving you a heads up as i went to well known doc and i an struggling to get repaired still. It has been the most painful experience and nightmare. Would never want you to go through something similar. If your in NJ/NY area, I can actually show it in Person.
  15. With DUPA, you just have to be careful and you may be chasing transplants. Aside from that, if a doctor messes up, you will be put in bigger situation. Hold off if you can. Honestly, there are some hair systems that are really good options. These are not like the ones from back in the day. They look far more natural and better than some hair transplants. example: again, once your scalp is cut, you will have underlying scarring. This can vary and again, you just have to so with what you have safely. i can show you the grafts and design and scarring in person actually if your ever in NJ/NY area. Once you see what was done by known surgeon, you can see it is not as marketed and what issues arised.
  16. Vitamin D workuP, check potassium and minerals related labs by the doctor low vitamin d can cause miniaturization and random sheds by throwing your cycle off and preventing new hair growth. Can make you lose hair and sometimes it usually recovers when doctor recommended vitamin d doses are given many sources available on web regarding this, but here is a study: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6380979/
  17. Absolutely, not to be considered at this time. Here is why. You’ve been losing hair from early age of 16 you’ve been on finasteride but still noticed some loss in crown. you have yet to try minoxidil and ketoconazole you have lots of native hair in recipient zones you want to work in it would be wise to wait till 30+ to see how these meds further hold your hair before you make this major decision definitely tread carefully— please approach it carefully and get your blood levels checked for vitamin d and other concerns It would be risky to get a procedure now based on the current scenario- wait it out- good luck
  18. Honestly, the lesser the grafts the safer. It all depends on your hair caliber and density and what the doctor is able to extract in terms of hair groupings within those grafts. Will it be lots of ones twos or threes etc? You just do not know until the extractions occur. my scalp was put at risk and was damaged due to a 3000+ grafts high density frontal session in one day via FUE and due to inexperienced extractions. I am suffering today as a repair patient in need of repair as a result of the entire ordeal. I’d get multiple opinions from various doctors. If Canada, the best ones seem to be Hasson & Wong. Dr De Freitas, Dr Keser in Turkey may be other good ones to add for consult as well. You need to go to a hairline specialist that really excels in the lateral slit technique. That produces the most natural results and gives the area a true artistic natural feel. The doctor also must be ethical as well and not leave you hanging. Best wishes.
  19. Man, sorry to see this and see you go through this. They may have taken a lot of grafts, more than 2400. I am going through similar situation with the front area sparse and donor area impacted with some depletion halo and density loss. You need to tread carefully as folks can take advantage of the situation for repair. I am still trying to find An ethical repair surgeon that can fix this mess and it is not easy and caused me great suffering. You can try reaching out to Dr Bisanga, Dr Mwamba, Dr DeFreitas, Dr Cooley to see what they have to say. It is good to get multiple opinions from docs to see how they can tackle this issue.
  20. Stay on meds if you can. You can see some density loss in crown zone. If you were not on meds, maybe that area would not be with hair today. Do you take meds daily? Minoxidil may be a good addition to assist in healthier follicles in crown area. Nizoral shampoo may also help(every 3rd day application). i would tell you to hold off any transplant until you see how you last with meds alone until age 30+. You can use toppik or hair fibers to get by, do not go under the knife as your existing hairs can possibly be shocked permanently if you were bound to lose them without meds. stress does play a role as well. Try not to stress. Also, have your vitamin d levels in blood checked and labs done to make sure there is no underlying condition. I was in a similar position regarding forehead and the doctor has put me in a very bad position jeapordizing my scalp and by leaving me as a repair patient. I am still trying to get fixed and stuck in a very bad situation suffering quite a bit. He did not keep his word based on emails and agreements and broke the agreement. i do not want you to end up this way or be taken advantage of. Best wishes
  21. Avoid nape hair. The fragile the hair, the less likely it can survive extraction and these hairs have terrible cycles and most folks lose them as they age. Very low survival and can cause more issues. Medical treatments are your best bet right now. You definitely do not want to plant anything in heavy native hair zone either. It can cause shockloss to existing hairs as well. Be very cautious of any individual as they may have incentives to push you to surgery with their surgeon. Best of luck.
  22. 12 months is ideal time as it can show you how your grafts look when they fully mature and what to expect in crown as well. Remember, donor shockloss can also take a while to recover and your donor should be allowed to fully recover before you take transplant number 2. 6 months may not be enough time for donor to heal.
  23. Now that hairline looks natural and will not have eyes wonder and stare at it. Great work!
