  1. Couldn't agree more Balding bogger funny what your eyes want you to see I always saw your username as balding blogger but the George Michael avatar makes sense now I just linked to this thread as a probably the best advice on timescales that I have seen. Totally agree with Dr Karadeniz too.
  2. No problem. I do however think that these timelines are only a very rough guide and people should treat them as a guide. Over the years I have seen many patients at 6 months be well behind where they should be according to this types of timelines and it causes them a great deal of stress only for them to get much more growth after the 6 month stage. It also applies to patients who have had a tremendous improvement at 6 months and are so happy thinking that it is going to be twice as good by the 1 year mark. Usually in this case they end up a bit disappointed when they realize that they saw around 80% of their growth in the first 6 months.
  3. Thanks for the update Turtle, hair is looking great really happy for you.
  4. I like my hair, I am sorry that you have expressed you are not entirely happy with the density of your hairline. Unfortunately sometimes expectations and actual results of hair transplant surgery are not always aligned. I am not familiar with your case but will make myself so and provide some further feedback. In the meantime I see you have started a new thread asking for feedback I think it would be helpful for you to post the photos that Doug took following your meeting with Dr Wong this week on this thread rather than starting a new one.
  5. Sorry to hear of the issues you have been facing. When is your wedding can I firstly ask? You may not wish to hear it but I would start the fin/minox combo that you suggested before undergoing any procedure. Your crown is really opening up and creeping forward into the mid scalp. At 25 I hope you might have caught it early enough to see some improvements from this regime itself. Could save you some grafts and I doubt many surgeons would be happy placing grafts into this area at your age and not being stable on meds for a while. The hairline I understand why you would wish to fix this but it will take a lot of grafts to provide symmetry and you would have to bring the hairline down in the centre area to do this. You have thinning into that hairline and it probably extends into the mid scalp too. I personally feel it would be a bad idea to do this currently unless you have been able to stabilize your loss and seen some improvement in the crown. Of course you can do it and have a quick fix to restore the hairline and thicken things up but in my view it is not the right thing to do. Donor management and supply is a huge thing to consider when you are heading currently for an advanced Norwood. My first wedding I had to content with mini and micro grafts growing straight out of my hairline and a bald crown so I can appreciate you want to look your best. Some toppik or nanogen would help with deal with the crown.
  6. Congrats on your recent surgery. I can only echo what the others said that you have some incredible hair groupings and that should make for an excellent result. To have more 3's than 1's is amazing. Looking forward to following your progress.
  7. There was a recent thread on this topic. I agree with the comments in this post and typically what I see. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/177224-whats-general-expected-rate-hair-growth-transplants.html

  9. Happy to help and am really hoping for a great result for you and here if you need any support. The recipient looks quite red still, maybe it is just the light. You could try to some aloe vera on the scalp to try to take away that redness.
  10. When I was 21 and first saw I was really starting to loose my hair I went to see a trichologist for a couple of years and he had me sticking my head in a sink full of cold water 2-3 times a day. It was quite invigorating and woke me up but alas it did nothing for my hair loss.
  11. Dr Lorenzo works full time out of his clinic in Madrid. He was in the UK for his daughters education and worked out of the Farjo clinic whilst he was there I don't think it is the case that you can have him provide surgery in the UK anymore you would need to go to Madrid.
  12. Asking what we would do in your situation whilst is a good question will get you a whole variety of answers and maybe not what you want to hear. For a large % of guys on here they would see your recession and wish they could swap places with you. At 25 there is a lot of uncertainty about how your hair loss will progress add to that the fact that you cannot tolerate propecia and the risk increases ten fold. I think you hit the nail on the head you should monitor your loss for a while longer before you do anything. This of course will give you no guarantees as your loss may be slow now and can always accelerate as you hit your 30's or even 40's. If and when you do decide to do something you should seek a number of opinions in person to have your donor accessed and the rest of your scalp to see if there are markers that you might progress to a higher Norwood. If you start with restoring the hairline you need to make sure you have the donor to finish the job. One thing is certain that you will loose more hair how much at this stage in unknown from just looking at your hairline. Good luck.
  13. Baldietwo is spot on here that flash can mislead what the density looks like. I suspect from the photos that your density in the donor is below average but that is quite normal for the hair type that you have. Curly/wavy hair can get impressive results even when not placed at high density. As others say I would visit a few surgeons if possible for consultations. Good luck.
  14. Congrats PMA on your latest session with Dr Lorenzo. I look forward to seeing the results.
  15. I also think it is a whorl. Now be on your way and enjoy your great head of hair

  17. Decisions, Decisions! Three questions most of us would need to know before commenting. How old are you? Are you taking Propecia and or using Minoxidil? I am not sure I would be looking to lower the hairline in the centre, of course bringing the temple recession forward. What are your expectations here?
  18. As we are still over 1 month away I am bumping this thread for those that missed it. Some spaces still available for both days currently.
  19. You should really seek some in house consultations directly with several Doctors to assess your case. It is unsure how much the back of your scalp will yield much and you need hair to cover the scars. I think it would be a waste of scalp hair to fill them in at this stage. If they really bother you and you want to work a way of getting a shorter cut then beard hair might be the best option for you. Hopefully the sides would yield some grafts if the scarring is not so bad here? It's difficult to tell from the photos. You say how many grafts needed? It might be more a case of what you have left. What bother you the most? After so many surgeries you really need an experienced Doctor to give a verdict and they really need to see you in person.
  20. Congratulations and I am very interested to follow your results after all the problems that you had to get to this stage. Good luck and keep us all posted.
  21. Some great advice here already given. Close up shots will not reveal much as only a small percentage of hairs are breaking the surface. Very little to see at this stage. I think taking monthly photos from now in the same room, lighting, angles is the best way to review your progress.
  22. Sounds exciting to hear about this new technique so look forward to the teaser next week.
  23. You look to be a good candidate from the photos although it is difficult to tell because you have such long curly hair. I am not sure you should do the temples when you have signs of miniaturization throughout the top. I think if you stop styling your hair in the centre parting things look to be ok. You do have great donor hair for transplanting whatever you decide. How old are you?
