  1. Are you talking specifically in the first few weeks/months after surgery or in general once it has grown in? I have always towel dried my hair out of habit more than anything and I see no reason why you should not. Of course you need to be very careful in the first few weeks and more pat it dry.
  2. This patient came to us from Italy after research led him to Dr. Wong. His goal was to have maximum coverage in his first surgery. He was willing to give up some density in the front to ensure the crown could get reasonable coverage. He would then plan on a second procedure to add density to this area. 4461 grafts achieved his goal and he was quite pleased with the result. 925 were single hair grafts,3231 were 2's and 305 were 3-4 hair grafts. The strip was 31.2 cm x 1.5 cm. On this day of his second procedure, 3,000 grafts were added to the frontal zone and mid scalp which should complete his transformation. He will be featured on our website in a video and we hope to have updated photos in the future showing the final result of his most recent surgery. Free consultations with Hasson & Wong representatives in the following locations. Seattle April 7th-17th, Portland April 23rd-24th, San Francisco April 29th to May 1st, Calgary May 15th to 16th
  3. Looking very good so far pma congrats and thanks for posting.
  4. Just use a wash in wash out non permanent hair dye like Just For Men Autostop which says it contains no peroxide or amnonia. Is is not normal, it can make it easier if the patient has very white hair for sure but going from blond to black could look odd. If they insist then you should do the non permanent and it will have faded within a few weeks. I have used this before so speak from experience. Have they mentioned whether they need to shave the recipient area as you mentioned that you don't want short hair.
  5. Thanks for all your replies. Sorry should have mentioned he tried HRBR and was told they wouldn't see him as he was a patient of H&W. Seems most patients have to risk buying it off the net and it not getting stopped at customs. Spex if you Doctor has a contact in the future let me know please.
  6. Congratulations to you Blake I think it will be a great fit for a number of reasons and I am sure to be able to learn from Dr Feller has been a great benefit. I hope you will continue to pass on your knowledge and experience to the forums. I wish you all the best and I am sure you will do very well. And on a personal note WOW! Dr Feller you look great and have shed a lot of weight judging from the videos you were putting out last year. Well done to you.

  8. I have several patients in Ireland that are having trouble getting hold of Propecia/Proscar one in particular whose Doctor will not prescribe the medication for him. He has ordered online only to have the package confiscated at customs. Anyone from Ireland able to get hold of the medication and if so how.
  9. I have been getting a number of enquiries about the topical from patients in the EU and US. As mentioned it is available by prescription only we cannot simply license this for sale as it has to be made on an individual basis patient by patient. Dr Hasson recently followed up with this patient six months after starting the topical and he was very pleased with his progress so far.
  10. Megasesh, Appropriate name for sure! The number of grafts that you got is not something we hit very often in one session but every now and then when the requirement is there and the stars align with great density and laxity it can happen. Thanks for your kind words about your experience I was happy to have been able to help along the way. I really hope you stick around and document your results and look forward to following your progress and meeting with you in London to see how you are getting along in the near future.
  11. Great results and good planning from Dr Bisanga. Thanks for sticking around to share with us all.
  12. Winchester83, Sorry to hear that your are having concerns but at this stage it is too early to see any results from the surgery. The new transplanted hairs naturally shed between 2-4 weeks after surgery and take 3-4 months on average to start to re-appear. This process can go on until month 8-9 and that is why clinics suggest that patients wait the full 1 year mark to assess the final results. When the hair comes through initially it can be finer than your donor hair and needs time to go through that thickening stage which can take place after the 1 year mark but by that time your hairs should have all sprouted. It is a shame that the clinic has not been in contact or did not discuss this with you at the time, it can be a lonely place for the first few months after surgery and is good to have some contact with the clinic and others going through the same process. Hopefully you will start to see some new hairs popping through over the next couple of months. I wish you all the best.
  13. Se7en, Welcome to the forum and thanks for such a detailed write up. It has been a long journey for you to get to this stage and I look forward to sharing it with you over the next year. Attached are some of your photos pre op that were taken before and immediately after surgery with your face blocked out as requested. Please keep the forum posted of your progress.
  14. Hey Voxman, I'm officially jealous! I am loving the flowing locks so how long is this beautiful mane going to get? I can see you now.... the smoke clears Voxman stage right hair down to his shoulders cranks into the opening chords of.... Squatch- Hey maybe I should trademark that name not sure how The Clash would feel about me using the name of one of their songs though:)
  15. Yes you should if you are taking the medication now and not having any adverse reaction then why stop.
  16. You need to relax. How you can count five hairs new hairs in amongst areas where you had pre existing hair is beyond me and the photos can't tell us anything. 4 months is just the very start for most people so you shouldn't be concerned or talking of refunds. By 8-10 months you will have a much better idea of where you are at until then you need to be patient like others say. Keep us posted of your progress.
  17. Thanks for alerting the forum to this KO. As you may know we have been able to prescribe a topical version for the last couple of years to those patients local to Vancouver or past and present patients. This was through the pharmacy down the road from the clinic. As the blog post says it is now available to EU residents via a prescription from their own Doctor. If you would like more details drop me a email david@hassonandwong.com
  18. Quite normal to feel the odd twinge of pain every now and part of the healing process. It is not the signal for hair growth though. As you had fut you would have nerves cut and they are regenerating which will lead to this pain once in a while.
  19. The patient started on meds a few months before his surgery and judging from the crown photos has had a good deal of thickening of the hair shaft. Also attached is a photo of the scar up close.
  20. Sounds like you are all set and I am sure you be well looked after at that clinic. Keep the forum posted on your results.
  21. Happy to help. Yes I would have it done again in the crown as I liked the way it looked initially after getting it done. I am not sure I would have my scars treated again as it dropped out very quickly here and the pain was pretty hard going. If I could find a someone local to me it would make the whole thing much easier. Difficult to answer honestly if it looked better in person than in photos as it was in my crown and I could never see closely what it looked like, but it did what it was supposed to and took away some visibility of scalp which when you have pale skin and brown hair makes a big difference. I haven't rushed back to do it as I was disappointed about how quickly it faded but I have discussed why in my case that may well have been. My wife was really impressed with how it looked and she is the one that sees the back of my head more often that I do so I would say it looked good in real life.
  22. I was underwhelmed with how long it lasted for but it looked good for the first 6 months and amazing for the first 4 or so. I was buzzing about it when I got back from having it done. It dropped out of my donor scars quite quickly. I did only have one pass because of the large area of my crown and the time restraints I had at that time. I don't use rogaine, or swim but I do wash my hair most days as I play sports, run, cycle, play football and I sweat a lot when doing these. This would have been a factor. So I have mixed feelings about it from my experience looked great but faded quicker than I thought it would, I guess it would depend about how easy the clinic is for you to access for top ups and what the cost of these would be.
