My scar is getting better. I still feel like I have some redness in certain spots and hope it goes away soon. I use a #5 guard on he sides. Dr Cooley believes I can go down to a #2 but I don't think i could at this point. I'm curious if anyone else has had redness on there scar 9 months in? Thanks

I had my grafts split between my hairline and crown pretty evenly. The crown received the grafts with higher multiples.

It's been a long time since I've posted. I'm at 8.5 months and am pretty happy with my results so far. I may have had unrealistic expectations but I'm hoping for more in my crown specifically. I had 3648 grafts that were split between my crown and my hairline. As you saw about I had a great ratio of roughly 2.4 hairs per graft. I also had PRP as well. The lighting in the pictures below isn't great so I attached several. A few questions to the board..... 1. How much growth/thickness can I expect from here on out? I'm at 8.5 months 2. What do you think of the results? 3. How many additional grafts do you feel are needed to fill in remainder of crown? Feedback please!!

Dr Cooley was great and said that he felt everything looked excellent when i got my sutures out. He believes i will eventually be able to get to a number 2 I'm following instructions and am taking it easy since I'm still healing. I am on my laptop a lot for work and tilt my head down quite a bit. Could this be affecting the scarring. I feel like it's healing better around my ears than in the back. I could be a little paranoid as well. I m just looking for some honest feedback. I attached 5 pics below. The 4th one is most concerning to me. Thanks!

I am re-posting with my pre-op and post op pics. Please provide me feedback. I am 3 weeks removed from my procedure with DR Cooley and am extremely pleased so far. I went in for a 3500 FUT procedure with PRP. I have attached before pictures. Sorry about the quality. I had the grafts added to my front and to my crown area. All in all I received 3648 grafts. Here is the breakdown.... Please provide me feedback. 1's=501 2's=1838 3's=923 4's=278 5's=108

Is there a concealer that i can put on my suture line until these things come out that will mask the line? Also, is it healthy to put something on it or will it hurt the healing? Would Toppik work or would you recommend something else?

So here goes....I have posted some after pics but the quality isn't too good. I have been constantly keeping my hair wet with the topical solution Dr. Cooley provided. Of the 3648 grafts he put roughly 1800 on my frontal area and 1800 in the back. He used 1's and 2's in the front and the 3,4 and 5's in the back. I have requested he send me the before and after pics that he took because the quality is much better. That being said I have 2 questions for you all..... 1. What are your initial thoughts? 2. What can I do to control the itching in the recipient area? Thanks in advance!

I had never heard of 5 unit grafts either. He said they are rare and some Dr.s may break them down to 2 and 3 units grafts. He also said it was extremely rare to have more 3 units grafts than 1's. Obviously I was thrilled. I took some after pics but they don't look right because my hair is soaking wet from all of the vitamin healing solution. He put roughly 1800 in the front (Mostly 1s and 2s) and 1800 in the crown (3's, 4's and 5's) I hope to get better after pictures this week and I will post. Spanker- I'm not sure what a DFU is? Also, i would have no issue if Dr Cooley chimed in. He was a great guy and was extremely caring and thorough. i was there for over 13

Thanks for your feedback Joe. I am going to take some pictures of the aftermath and post them as well. o'll be curious to what you think. My ratio's seem to be very positive though. Having more 3's than 1's was awesome and having some 5's was an added bonus too!

I am having 3500 units done via FUT with Dr Jerry Cooley in 2 weeks. 1. I have used Toppik concealer on my crown and mid scalp for years. Is it safe to use after my surgery? If yes, how long should I wait? Procedure is May 27th and I have a work presentation June 9th is that long enough? 2. I have been told I can wear a hat after my surgery. Does it pose a risk to my sutures? I Any advice on this or specific types of hats would be appreciated. I'm really excited but am stressed at this point. Thanks for any help!

Looking to get FUT done with Dr Cooley in Charlotte. Can you give me some feedback on how many grafts you think I need for the following. 1. Crown- I'm looking to fill in my bald spot. I'm 38 years old and am on Finasteride 2. Frontal area- Not looking for my 18 year old hairline. Looking to fill in and have a solid age appropriate hairline. 3. How short can I cut my hair to avoid showing a visible scar. 2 guard? 3 guard/ Thanks for taking the time.
