Hmmm, not trying to be too critical. But it for the number of grafts I think his hair is too thin. Like really thin. I understand it is a large area, but even then I think it was possible to get more thickness upfront or sacrifice the crown area for more thickness. Anyway, still a solid result and patient should be happy

There are plenty of people showing it, but tbh I can understand why it is rare. You have a procedure, you are nice/courage enough to share it to the world for 12 month, 24 month. But at some point you are happy and you move on. For me, the lack of 5 years results is more of a positive sign, because I always assume if things go south patient will come back to ask about what happened or share their story again. That is why you will find many of those who share about their old HT, is doing it while they are planning for a new one.

Suspected dandruff in non-operated areas?
harry_potter1 replied to Yaro's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
A quick question, but do dandruff that has been there for long time affect me as a potential HT patient? I had this issue for 18 years or so and whatever shampoo I use it won't last long before it loses its effect, currently my doctor prescribed me isotretinoin to treat it. -
I've Vitamin D deficiency that has been persistent for some time now. Obviously I am losing hair and I may attribute it to that but... There seem to be a "wave" of blaming everything in Vit.D deficiency. And there has been many papers disputing that and saying its effect is overblown. But it is always obvious to keep it in its range, currently I am at the point of taking injections to reach a certain level.

The Finasteride dilemma
harry_potter1 replied to Torgeir's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Yeah. I went to arguably the top dermatologist in my country (which luckily is couple of buildings away from me) and asked about which drug to use. She prescribed minoxidil and when I asked her about fin she basically laughed at me. Saying no one here prescribes it any more due to frequent side effects. I have to say I was surprised. I knew about side effects but thought it is too rare for doctors to avoid it all together. But it seems here it is actually the case -
Nadimi vs H&W vs Rahal - Consults

Neat and clean result, not extraordinary one but few are. As long as you are happy I think it was good option for you. And loved the dating app comment -
Depends on your definition of balding and how you interpret it, age and everyone's personal look etc.For example, some people I know looks awesome with little hair rather than non. Think of Iain Glen for example, Jude Law back before HT etc. I know many who consider them really good looking men. Many of whom I know in their 30's or older look that way. Some other are the opposite for sure. I know a friend who looks way better shaving his head, than when he even had a full head of hair. And he isn't your typical description of those folks who are supposed to look like that as you know many thinks guys who have darker skin, tall muscular etc will rock it with shaved head. In contrary he is overweight , 5'6 Caucasian. Human variety is just huge. For me I looked much better up to 3 years ago with balding hair rather than shaving. But I was worried then just like I am worried today. I never fully shaved my head. But put it razor 2 for a year during army services. Never liked it even when I tried to accept it. Even my friends told me you better looking with hair With that being said, I think with good surgeon and couple of surgeries you can in many cases -not all- achieve more than that. you know turning into a guy whose hair isn't thick but isn't balding if you get what I mean. Or at worst achieve a good and neat balding view.

Hmmm, what other aspects in "obsession" do you have other than taking 20 minutes to prepare it? For me I don't obsess with hair that much when I am combing it. At least since my mid-20's. But at some point I hated looking at the mirror at all (may be that is why I don't comb it for so long) and stopped feeling good about my look. It affects me approaching a lot of things. Like approaching women, presentations and even social events since I started hating being in photos. I think this is one of the reasons I would say that my wait isn't bad, because right now I would take more realistic result that frame my face and take me back from being "bald" into "balding" which actually a huge difference look-wise. OTOH, 10 years ago when I was 22, I would go mad about having a recessed temple if I went to HT. So I hope if I get a HT (I am planning to do it around 2021) I will get over that mostly.

Best Doctors Not Recommended Here
harry_potter1 replied to Melvin- Admin's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Yeah, the world is just too big to know them all. -
FUT is still probably the way to go IMO. Just because it isn't the popular option it doesn't mean it is inferior. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages, that us why both are widely used and non of them are dead (yet) I think for your case you should absolutely starts with FUT then go for FUE later. Good luck

Best Doctors Not Recommended Here
harry_potter1 replied to Melvin- Admin's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Hattingen is the one I really consider that isn't recommended here. Patient results in German forums are amazing although it is a pain in you know what to register there and see it (Apparently German laws doesn't allow sharing results in forum that doesn't require registration) Same for Couto. There are some decent Arabic clinic that isn't a top notch but produce solid results for the cost. Like Dr.Ahmed Adel NourEldin in Giza, Maghraby clinic in Cairo. There is a Jordanian doctor here that seems very good. Dr.Khaled in Tunisia too Even well known Turkish doctors in middle east aren't known at all in English Speaking world and vice versa -
Good looking results. But how is your crown area look like? I doubt it is fully covered, and that would be the right thing to do (i.e to not fully cover the crown) But How natural it is left bald is important IMO. Nevertheless, great result and great hairline framing your face. Congratulations

Yaman only 1 euro per graft?
harry_potter1 replied to baldblonde's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
There have been many patient reviews here, and also some of the results posted by the clinic. He is one of those you feel you are playing a lottery, some of his results are superb, on par with any FUE doctor out there. But some results are also really bad. -
If you were considering FUT I would have said H&W is an easy answer. But while they are solid in FUE without doubt, they aren't above anyone else like they almost do with FUT. That said between all 3 they would be my choice (think Dr.Wong also is a tad better than Hasson in FUE, but don't take my word for it) ASMED produced some amazing results for some comparable cases, some other solid cases. But they also have underwhelming results too. Rahal is great, but there have been some recent complains IIRC. Are those your only options? I think if you can afford H&W FUE you might consider someone like Dr.Diep? I do really like his FUE work with high norwood patients.

I think it differs due to lack of concrete solid evidence from research, most likely due to lack of research. HT isn't the common to start with, and most patients are -relatively speaking-well endowed and value their privacy. Very unlikely you will get so many of them to accept working with research institutes to work about such fine details. Never mind it is actually hard at times to get which thing is right with hundreds of human factors that affects success of the procedures. This lead to suggestion being based on doctor experience and theoretical knowledge. For example, look at the thread about gym after HT, clinic like Dr Blake Bloxham recommend 2 weeks off and this is just it, others like Hattingen recommend up to 6 months. And those are 2 of the top -if not the top- young doctors in FUT

I am not sure if women plastic surgery isn't stigma tbh, here it seems stigma. But in many cases women surgeries are covered with their clothes and can relatively hide them (or show what they want) from them. Anyway, I've seen around 5 men who had HT in Cairo. 2 of them were just walking in the street, 2 of them were sitting in front of me waiting for our turn in a Bank, and an old friend of mine. 4 of them I recognized it due to FUT scar, one of them was clearly fresh from FUE surgery I approached one of them before (surprisingly not my friend) and he was really open about it, embraced it a lot and didn't have that stigma on him at all. Probably because I was clearly balding so he was talking to a fellow "bald" man Many men don't care about it and open about it tbh. But many women or men who don't suffer it still don't get i. Which put us in bad situations sometimes. You never hear the end of the jokes about our lack of hair at times, or jokes about HT if you do it

Speaking of footballers (soccer players if you are American) is it me or Rakitic did a HT?
