  1. It is great result. But can't deny that this is a weird photos thanks to the glasses. Sun glasses made him look more youthful than normal ones after the HT. 🤣
  2. Yeah, Path work seem underrated though as you say there is few of patient posted results
  3. Hahaha Yeah, I am not a dentist, and the doctors in the quote I brought aren't a dentist, and your dentist who tells you it is safe isn't a dentist. And everyone who doesn't validate your concern isn't a dentist. I mean, hey. Let's assume I am a troll and not a dentist as you claim (I can confirm my degrees to melvin btw), but what about your dentist? And the names I brought? Some of those are known worldwide in the field. Read the quote I brought, google the names of those Dentist and try for once to understand what they are saying. I mean if you think standard is safe, why did you even make this thread? if 18 is standard then it is safe by your logic? And just for the record, I didn't say standard isn't safe but again you fail to understand that. Do the math, you get exposed to radiation on daily basis equal to 1 periapical X-ray mate. And everyone in this forum told you they have never heard of 16-18 X-Ray being standard, even those in USA. And it is the country that is well known for overdoing tests. Thing being safe doesn't warrant its overuse. As health practitioner you always prefer to be conservative as much as you can. If you can 5 instead on 10 you do that. No, it means if you didn't ask a question don't complain about not getting an answer. It means if you don't say your health issue don't complain that I didn't take them into account. It means you need to ask the right question to get the right answer. I am not a Nostradamus to know your health issue if you don't tell them in advance. You call me crazy for not taking into your account a health issue you didn't say? By what logic is that? There is no suggestive evidence of hair loss due to dental X-Rays. You are making a claim without evidence. There is neither a suggestive evidence of its effect on nerves. There is a weak -albeit significant- correlation of it in cases of overuse (like if you are doing your 18 x-rays on annual/biannual basis for long time) with some oral cancers like salivary gland cancer. If you are smoking, drinking, having HPV or eat spicy foods you will have more important factors to worry than this repeated xrays. In general X-Ray are avoidable in any dose with woman as precautionary, there are 100 of other things that we take exception to pregnant women and we deem it safe But you won't even try to even process this information , so do whatever makes you feel comfortable. This is my last post in this thread, I came here with good intentions but you don't want to listen and obviously my advice isn't welcome. The one last thing I would say, and I would say it as an honest advice: There is an actual strong evidence of correlation between Psychological factors and oral cancer/ cancer in general (this was actually my master thesis, done in prestigious UK university) among infinite number of health issues. You are obviously dealing with some stress/anxiety that I hope you will try to tackle, I know it is easier said than done. So at the end I can only wish you luck with your teeth and hair
  4. There is difference between safe, and standard. -I've never said it is standard. -For RCT (root canal treatment) we do like 2-4 depending on technique, you didn't even tell what type of treatment you are undergoing. I questioned that and all you said "it is the standard everywhere you go". -From your answers it was clear you are from US and you guys are known for doing extensive tests over clinical experience. No offense to any american doctor/dentist in this forum. -You never even answered what type of X-Rays they are. -You have said you worry about your hair, You didn't give any medical history. Your question is about your hair, that is what I have answered. Don't bring new health issues to the argument and be mad that you didn't get the answer you like. -And yes, even then there is no evidence that support your claim of being unsafe. Even for unhealthy. Pregnant women being exception. Will leave you with this info. I answered you as I thought I can help you with my knowledge, I gain nothing from this conversation or whatever you do. oh, wait I get being deemed crazy. SMH
  5. Yes, Keser is the one. The guy is NW3 so someone conservative for hairline is what he look for atm. I like Diep, but I feel I am missing something as there is many complains recently on his work. Regarding Devroye I kind of agree with you, but still put him because of limited number for FUE type of doctors for that criteria,.
  6. FUT or FUE, that is an important question. I think with each of those options you will head to different doctors. For FUT: In US I would go for Konior, I think he is obviously elite. Canada I think Wong is successful with that more than Dr.Hasson. Europe I do really really like Hattingen, their results with FUT is wow and they barely go further than 6K in total, only one bad FUT result I've seen from them. couple of dozen brilliant ones at least. FUE: I think there are some good surgeons in Turkey like Cinik, there is also another guy but I don't remember his name, but was known to be very conservative with number of grafts he do. Rarely mega sessions. Like Diep too. Belgium has great surgeons like Devroye & Bisanga Don't like Hattingen or H&W as FUE surgeons, they are good but they aren't as standout as they are in FUT But I agree with @JayLDD, FUT is the best way for what you want.
  7. You didn't provide any source actually. You provided two links and they are saying something different than what you think they are, actually they are denying what you say. As I said, one is a patient being paranoid and doctors dismiss what she says. Patient question isn't a source, the answer is. other speaking about radiotherapy, not X-Ray. You realize that those aren't anywhere similar in their effect? This supposed to be common knowledge nowadays I've been very clear, go for it, it is safe. As long as you do it and move on without getting paranoid about it and blaming anything that happen for it. If you will still feel anxious (which seem your type of personality tbh) don't do it. Will be unfair to you and your dentist Your dentist, this forum, the physicians in the first link you brought are all agreeing on it being safe. Bottom line: relax and do it.
  8. Up till now you didn't cite a single source that says that. And I answered you very clearly, I can't clear something that I didn't read or provided a link for.
  9. Can't help you tbh, I had a full thick beard since I was 14. Was weird back then.
  10. I think sooner or later you will need another HT. If your result from this one is good -hopefully- I think you can get a good result if you have a decent donor area (let's say another 3-4K grafts between FUT & FUE)
  11. Quick question I asked in another thread. If you are taking some other medication for the shedding, would I've to continue using it for life (along Minoxidil) or is it for few months? My dermatologist gave my a nanogen serum/mask/shampoo and they are all expensive here in Egypt. All together cost round 40 times the Minoxidil and has annoying schedule for me. I have no problem with the shampoo but knowing myself I won't continue with others more than a year at most.
  12. I've edited 3rd point, X-Rays won't go through your hair. Bad typo from my behalf I didn't say you will lose your hair, I said if you get cancer; treatment might cause hair loss. Chemotherapy do that. Was pointing out how ridiculous to make a statement like "Don't care if I get cancer. Just dont want my hair affected AT ALL" Because -god forbid- if you get it (cancer), you will care and you will lose hair among other things.
  13. 1-First article, the doctor dismiss her reasoning. 2-Second one, it is for radiations treating cancer which is totally different than diagnostic X-Rays in terms of effect. 3-You will care if you get cancer, and you will lose hair if you get it thanks to treatment at least. Not trying to be rude but beware of what you are saying man. 4-I assume that those X-Rays are Periapical, may be bite-wing/panoramic x-ray? All won't go through your hair anyway. 5-If you are gonna be paranoid about it, don't do it. You will blame yourself, your doctor and anyone who told you to go for it if you lost any hair in the future.
  14. Depends on you. Some people will hate themselves with it, I personally met 3 patients with clear FUT scar at street/bank etc and in all cases I didn't feel that the scar looked that bad. Approached one of them and looked confident and honest about it. If you embrace it then I don't think it is a problem at all. If you are gonna worry about it then don't do HT
  15. As a dentist myself (although specialized in more academic/research field and don't do clinical work for half decade now) I can tell you it is safe. X-Ray is more of an issue for dentist/radiologist than for patients. Though that number of X-Rays is unusual I've to say.
  16. Interesting. Are you doing it all the way or just in the 1st few months? My dermatologist has prescribed me over 3 medications as growth factor for the shedding (along minoxidil) , a serum, a mask and a shampoo. All are actually expensive and it is a bit of a disturbing routine. I've started minoxidil today, I think I can do the "twice per day" thing regularly but I doubt I will do it with the others more than few months. I don't know if I will ever stick to that and wondering if I should have started it in the 1st place.
  17. Will start using it in couple of days (in addition to nanogen serum) and I've to say this is making me nervous.
  18. Don't know in US, but I think Hattingen do all their FUT without patient shaving their head.
