Hi "everybaldy", after almost 4 weeks from my surgery, I've decided to show my case. I'm from Spain, so sorry in advance for any spelling or grammar mistake. I'm 41 years old and since I was 35, after my 2nd child was born, I started to lose hair until I reached an N-V. I started to see results of friends who had gone with good results and in November, after watching a video I had prepared for my wife's brithday with memories of the past 20 years, I realized that I did not recognize myself in the photos and how my appearance had changed at this time, looking 10 years older than 5 years

I understand that body hair's main disadvantage for transplanting is that it has a short anagen (growth) phase and very long telogen (resting) phase. But in the past, when I have had my back hair waxed at a salon, it always started growing back in only 7 to 10 days. I also have a lot of annoying hairs in my ears and on my ****. I pluck them, and they are always growing again in 1 to 2 weeks. I realize that, possibly, the new growth is hairs that were in invisible telogen, and not the same hairs that I plucked. If that's the case, I must have zillions of latent telogen hairs

Can anyone share their own personal experience with beard to head hair transplant? What are some things to watch out for? Does the hair look natural? Thx

I will undergo hair transplantation operation using the technique of FUE. Because I have the last pattern of baldness, NW7, only the frontline of my head, zone A, and zone B will be both transplanted with a density of 40-50 hairs/cm2 by grafts taken from the back of my head. I have been recommended not to perform both FUE and BHT at one operation. Therefore, the second operation applying BHT to cover my crown, zone D, with a hair taken from my chest will be performed one year later or may not be performed at all. My question if I shave my hair after the transplantation, will any scars app

I want to undergo hair transplantation surgery. Unfortunately, the donor area in the back of my head is weak and the baldness area in my head is large where I have the baldness stage of NW7. Therefore, extraction of grafts from my chest is a must. Therefore, I have been informed by the most hair transplantation clinics and advisory websites that covering the whole of my head is not possible, especially in one session. In the first session, which may also be the only session for me, it will be only possible to cover my hairline and the frontal area of my head, so that the crown and the bac

Some clinics have informed me that hairs extracted from the chest fall after being implanted in the head in 3-4 years. The chest's hair has a very different nature and anagen phases of the head hair. However, in many cases, it gets the same nature of the head hair and gets softer and longer in an only case opposite to the Orentreich’s theory that the transplanted organ keeps its original nature. Does the chest's hair fall from the head when it sometimes fails to take the same nature of the head hair, or may it fall even if it takes the same nature of the head hair? How long does

I want to undergo hair transplantation. I have NW7 stage of baldness and unfortunately, the donor area in the back of my head is weak. Therefore, grafts have to be extracted from my body, especially from my beard and chest. The clinics in Turkey which I was in contact with have informed me that the maximum grafts to be extracted from the body are sequentially 1000 grafts from the chest and 500 grafts from the chin. However, I have been informed that the extraction of grafts from the chest causes health damage for the chest even if just 1000 grafts are extracted. In my case, I need th

A 45 years old hotelier with advanced grade of baldness approached us for a look change hair restoration along with his hotelier friend. Both of them had the expectations of complete coverage of the bald scalp. The index patient had a big size scalp to be covered. Our experience revealed that he needs close to 10,000 odd grafts for a complete job. We started with covering the front, mid and the anterior part of the crown area. Close to 7890 grafts were planted (from both scalp and beard) over 3 consecutive days. He was informed that the crown would be done later. We had to ensure that the scal

Hi all. Would appreciate advice of some knowledgeable members. Long story short, had a few hts in the 80s and 90s which left me linear scars, depleted donor area and with the need to wear a piece. Had a mega bht session in 2004 which didn’t produce anything mega but still left me me some additional hair. In 2011, had some bht transplanted into the linear scar. This seemed to work pretty well meaning I could cut my remaining scalp hair shorter before the scar becomes noticeable. This allows me to also have the piece cut shorter which I prefer. I’ve been reading a bit about mic

Hello folks, Firstly thanks to everyone who provide their opinions regularly on this forum, although this is my first post many of you have provided me with a lot of useful information over the past couple of years. My story: Currently 22 years old male from London, started losing my hair at a very young age, got an FUE transplant at the age of 21!! In this thread I do not want to say who was my chosen surgeon, as I am going to write a full thread on my experience and before/after pictures etc. So at the time of my transplant I was on propecia, but unfortunately I had to

A 54 year old gentleman with NH Grd VII baldness presented to us for hair restoration after having undergone 4 unsuccessful surgeries outside ( 1 FUT; 2 FUE scalp; 1 FUE - body plus scalp; - One of the surgeries included hair being extracted from body as well.) The donor area of the scalp was depleted and only body hair could be taken out for transplantation. So, we extracted body hair from different areas. We did 3395 grafts over 2 days. The distribution of the same was as follows: Beard- 2176 grafts; Chest - 620 grafts; Pubic - 160 grafts; Leg- 336 grafts; Underarms -103 grafts. The surgery w

Hi all, I'm 23 years old and probably sitting at a NW5. I am on meds, but they aren't exactly miracle pills. Realistically it is going to be a struggle to get sufficient coverage with an average donor area. This is why I ask the question why not try BHT? The results I've seen are cosmetically good (also I'd be content with a buzz cut). I understand that there are some issues about transplanted body hair being rejected? I'd be willing to take that risk as I don't have many other options. Any thoughts on BHT and particularly about the appropriateness of it for a young man at the hi

Dr. U’s patient, also known as “Sofarsogood” (on the hair transplant forums) is the world’s first recorded case where leg hair was transplanted as grafts for hairline restoration. He had undergone strip surgery at another clinic. Due to the thickness of hair that was used, the edge of his hairline developed a very pluggy looking appearance. He attempted to keep this hidden by growing the front layers of his hair long and keeping it combed forward. Ultimately he decided to undergo a hair transplant repair surgery and chose Dr. U as his surgeon. Using his signature UGraft technology, Dr. U

Went to the Derm Hair Clinic to have my first HT with Dr. Umar and staff in Redondo Beach, California. 4600 grafts in total. 500 from chest, rest from scalp + beard. At this time I do not have the breakdown between head and beard donor. Surgery took place over four days. Had to add a fourth day because of issues with extracting some of my donor hairs from side of head that were not straight. The first half of the procedure was spent filling out my balding area in the crown using donor from beard and scalp, and the last two days on filling out my receding temples and lowering the hairli

I was wondering who the most reputable leg hair transplant doctors in the US were. I'm aware that leg hair transplants are a shaky thing, with failure a high probability, so I do not have high expectations. But I'd be willing to do a trial. I've heard of a Dr. Umar though don't know much about him. What doctors in the US do leg hair transplants, and which ones are the most experienced/have the best reputations?

Folks.. I am looking for recommendations regarding doctors in NJ/NY that would perform Hair transplant using beard or body hair in case donor supply is insufficient. I have read a lot about Dr Umar but he practices in West Coast. I visited Dr Dorin a year back and he mentioned that I might not be a good candidate and recommended that I should try medications first. I used Rogaine for a year. Do not see a significant change. (But I would recommend anyone who is reading this and is in early stage of balding to try it. Worst case scenario is that it won't work! Haven't observed any major

been suffering with losing my hair for so long. such a simple thing, so hard to get over right? anyways… these days, i'm shaving my head down to a zero every few days… i use a bit of caboki in the small bald patch i have in the front in back and i'm feeling a little better overall. the minoxidil i'd been using for a decade finally started to stop working. i don't want to get a hair transplant. it seems like it is a bit of a never ending road… needing new procedures as you lose more hair over the years. but… i realized that i would consider having the patches in my beard filled in and the

Many, if not all, on here know that Dr. Umar is top notch for BHT's. I have tried looking at as many results and procedures as possible (been bored past couple of days). I noticed beard and chest are the areas of the body used to extract hair but I was wondering if anyone has heard of patients using leg hair? I am just curious... as a middle eastern man I have a thick beard and ironically barely any chest and arm hair (both upper and lower, weird I know) however I do have a lot of upper and lower leg hair. In my opinion, not thinking as a Doctor/surgeon, I assume I could use my excessive leg

Greetings all I am new to the forums & been reading for awhile now...anyway I am a veteran HT patient going back to the 80's with plugs from Bosley then double flap surgery at Fleming/Mayer so consequently I have extensive scarring and slightly better than horrific results. Last week I underwent a 1200 graft strip surgery (last one) to rebuild temple points and try to soften the bold hairline however the surgeon really wants no part in scar/lump or FUE repair where the flaps were rotated into place...the lumps actually make the divits from the scars look much deeper and the hair always pa

Hi there, I was wondering if there is any latest news on the efficacy of BHT (Body Hair Transplant in case I got my acronym wrong). I dont have a great deal of donar hair left (dont have a great deal of hair period) but do have plenty of body hair. The latest information I could find is about 3-4 years old. Does anyone know if this is becoming a safer/more reliable or better documented procedure. Any info would be great, thanks guys

Guys check this out. i had seen in the past a video from this guy but this is after 2 years from his last BHT repair with dr Umar. the guy was messed up, completeley butchered and depleted from strips and scalp reductions and look at the repair work. Unbelievable
