Very High Density forehead reduction (3361 grafts)

Had my FUE hair transplant almost 2 weeks ago.  I had no balding but a large forehead and mature hairline. I had a forehead reduction with very high density (self counted 75, 76, and 81 grafts/cm2 on 3 separate spots).  The temporal points are a bit lower density to match the density I have there originally.

How does it look to you guys so far?  First picture is 7 days in, second picture is 10 days in.

Just to add, I had a bit over 3300 grafts for this area (like my username). I had zero hair in the transplanted area (again, this was to lower hairline, my natural hairline was higher, and I didn’t use to have hair there).

Putting such high density is risky in a single procedure due to all the grafts competing for blood supply. Hopefully you’ll be fine, but it’s entirely possible you could end up with the same amount growing as if you’d done half the amount. Hopefully I’m wrong. I’d put a guess in that it’s Rahal?

@Aftermath Either way, I honestly shouldn't ever need a 2nd hair transplant if first one is a success, so using extra grafts should not be that big of an issue compared to someone with progressive alopecia.  But yeah, would suck to lose half of them.  Though I'm not worried, as I've seen past patients he has had that have ended up with similar density and great end results.  Here's hoping I turn out the same.

That said, by when would I know if some of the grafts are failing?  What does that look like?  Are there any signs?

Wow . . I've not came across any internationally accredited surgeons who are able to perform  75/80FUcm2 transplant in one pass - in fact, in Dr Konior's most recent interview with Melvin, he jokes that he would like to meet someone capable of this feat, as it is still unable to have been successfully performed as far as he was aware.

Your post ops look good, the work looks clean, and I like the design. If those numbers of density really have been transplanted, I hope as much as possible survives. Your native hair looks to be very dense, hence the requirement for a higher density required in your new hairline design.

Good luck

I also hope most of the grafts survive.  Only time will tell.  But if they don't, it won't be from me doing anything wrong.  I'm following post op advice to the letter.

What did rahal (😜) say about graft survival with the amount per square cm?

What do you guys think?  I've definitely lost more than half the hair so far.

Will be interesting to see your case, you are some weeks ahead of me. But I had a similiar procedure design wise, I am a little bit worried about my temples since they are extremely difficult to get right after reading abit. Hopefully it will turn out good for both of us 🙂

From the pics so far the , the procedure seems clean. I do not see any reason why the survival rate will be specially low. Maybe a little bit here and there.

Since you do not have MPB , it seems  you went with more aggressive hair line than a lot of us MPBs would dare.

Happy growing.

Not much to report, most of it has shed.  Skin is looking better every week but still pink.

Only small concern is that some of the grafts are not growing yet and look similar size as day 1 of implant, but I assume that’s normal, though I wouldn’t mind having a confirmation on that.

Here is a pic of right now:

and here is a pic I took a day or two ago (higher definition)... do you think those tiny short grafts that haven’t started growing or shedding yet are normal?:

Those short grafts normal for 1 month post op? Or is there a chance they’re dead, hence not growing/shedding?

I’ve found a few others online who have the same thing but I’m still not sure if they are dead grafts. While other hairs initially grew out for a few weeks then shed, these ones have neither grown nor shed. One of mine came out easily when I tweezed it, and it appears to have broken off from the base.

Let’s hope they grow out.
