Well, the difference between 80 and 100 is a big difference.

do you think? I'd say not really, when 80-100 is 'native density' and you're inside that band.

I've been thinking I wonder if there's some sort of free / more natural concoction people could take which wouldn't have the potential side effect profile of viagra / cialis / oral minox. I'm thinking maybe something like a raw garlic clove once a day, beetroot powder, and topical minox.

25% increase in density is massive.

Think about the difference between 40 fu/cm2 vs 50fu/cm2.  That's the same difference between 80 and 100.

@mark91 There aren't many natural alternatives to the Cialis, Viagra, and Minox combination, aside from exercise, which has been shown to somewhat boost blood flow. In streets Cialis and Viagra often come in 60mg, but when taking small doses of 2.5mg, there's a buildup of tolerance and a minimal side effect profile. I can vouch for this, as I take it daily and quickly build tolerance.

Hmm not sure we looking at the same math. If your native density was 100cm2 and your transplant was 81cm2, native density is 19% more. But that's assuming your native density is on the upper end - if its middle of the line, its only 9% more. Not sure that would be detectable with the human eye, definitely wouldn't call it massive.

One way to tell though... wanna shave to a 0 and take photos? 😂

Interesting. Do you know where I could buy such a thing for our purposes?

I'm not sure about your maths there.

20% more would be 16.2cm2 = 97.2cm2.

25% of 81 is 20.  That's 101.  And my density implanted was between 76 and 81.  You're doing the math backwards.  100 - 19% = 81.  But 81 + 25% = 101.

Basically, let's use 80:

100 fu/cm2 is 25% more than 80 fu/cm2.
80 fu/cm2 is 20% less than 100 fu/cm2.

It just depends on what you're saying, less than, or more.

I think donor densities are around 80-100FU, while hairline densities are on average around 50FU. There’s been studies on hairline densities and I’m pretty sure 70 fu was the highest seen meaning @Fue3361results are at the upper limits. I don't think transplanting anymore is necessary. There's a Konior patient on reddit who had a super dense hairline procedure at 90-100fu/sq cm but they  had to remove some of it. I’d personally be ok with 40-45 in the hairline. Would look good today & as you age

It varies between individuals. The average is just that, an average. Many people are above, especially for those with low Norwoods who does not have much thinning. Myself included. 40-45 in the hairline could look OK if you have the same density behind it. For @Fue3361 and myself such 'low' density would not have been sufficient.

It doesn’t have to be the same density behind it. A 50 fu hairline is def. More than enough. Balding doesn’t become noticeable until thinning reaches 50% of native density

I disagree.  It doesn’t become noticeable under favorable circumstances.  But put someone under harsh light at lets say 40% thinning and you’ll see their hair is thinning easily.

This is true.

Non-balding people have high densities that they don’t look thin or balding under wet conditions or harsh lighting or anything you can throw at them. They look the same.

Oh thats super interesting, where did you hear the hairline density is 50FU? That sounds a lot less. I wonder if this is because of balding starting there, or if its naturally lower even during puberty before balding. I guess since there are more singles in the hairline naturally, it would look less dense than other areas anyway - but I suppose this wouldn't explain why the FU count is lower.

Do you know why they had to remove some of the hairs the guy got at 90-100fu?
