Also - the majority of hair transplant candidates don’t have the luxury to be able to implant at this density, as the ratio between available grafts in the donor vs. the recipient zone area (and future recipient zone areas) is a mathematical battle that usually allows for a max of 30cm2 - 50cm2 available density. 
 

OP has stated he wasn’t affected by MPB, he was just correcting a high hairline, therefore the Dr clearly felt there was no issue with regards to risking exhausting the donor zone.

Good question.  First of all, there are actual risks with doing very high density transplants.  Biggest risk is necrosis of tissue.  Other risk is that due to the fact that it is believed that grafts fight over bloodflow, so if there are too many grafts in too small an area, some won't survive, and you lose grafts for no reason.  Another issue is surgeon skills.  A density of 80+ requires very pricese pre-incisions, and if the incisions are too close, they can tear into each other and make big holes, and that's a serious problem.

Furthermore, most cases should NOT be doing densities this high.  A density of 55 per cm2 is usually more than enough for anyone's hairline.  You want to reserve grafts for future hair loss.  It's rarely a good idea to blow your entire donor zone on one surgery if you'll need another in the next 10+ years.

Lastly, not everyone's skin is healthy enough to deal with this kind of density.  I'd argue someone with diabetes, or other similar condition would be silly to attempt it.

All that said, it's definitely doable with the right skill and right pre + post op strategy.

I think the graft choice might be better on the right one (above^), it looks a bit softer.  Not to say I don’t think the left one is good. I somewhat prefer the angle of the left temple being more acute.  But both ended up looking very natural to me.

Fantastic! One of the best one time hairline results in the net in terms of density IMO. Most GOAT like results are 2-3 surgeries. 

Would like to see more pics with the hair free flowing, but what I see is amazing.

Phenomenal result. I remember you saying you would stop the Oral minoxidil 12 months after surgery. Just wondering If you have stopped and have you seen any changes in your hair?

I've only started it post surgery but plan on stopping after 6-12 months and only continuing with my DUT & FIN

My hair is slightly thinner (I think) after having stopped Minoxidil, but I think that's to be expected.  The oral minoxidil probably made my hair thicker than it naturally is.

Because I never needed it in the first place.  I've had no hair loss during my entire life (just born with a large forehead).  I spoke to my Dr. about this, and he still recommended oral minoxidil for the first few months, as it would help the new grafts take.

Keep in mind, my implant density was 80+ grafts/cm2.  I was taking a pill that has a blend of Minoxidil, Cialis, Viagra and Arginine, all to increase bloodflow to the skin and with the objective of making graft survival as high as possible in such a densely packed procedure.

On my 1 year checkup, he told me that I'm looking great, and that he would recommend me getting on Minoxidil/Dutest or Fin, in the case where I see any thinning starting to happen.  As that hasn't happend yet though, I don't see a reason to get back on the Minoxidil.  

When I say my hair might be slightly thinner, it's just slightly thinner than my peak density (at the 1 year mark), but I don't think it's any thinner than it was before the HT.  I just lost the Minoxidil gains I got (which I don't think were really necessary, as my density was pretty high to begin with).

EDIT:  I would obviously get on the main meds if in the future I started thinning to any significant degree.

Lol!  There are pharmacies that do custom meds, and Dr. has those pills custom made for him.  He gave me the 3 month worth of pills as I was leaving the clinic day of transplant.

I don’t know why doctors don’t do this more often. It would probably help any nocebo effect with patients who finasteride. In Spain they have to compound minoxidil. I’m gonna ask why they don’t compound it with cialis, it makes sense they’re vasodilators. Any negative effects from fin or dut would be alleviated too.

If anything, regardless of fin sides; they’d probably have better performance due to the low cialis dose.

200 IQ doctor.

I did something similar and got a hand written authorization by my family doctor to get oral minoxidil compounded by a local pharmacy in case of Loniten shortage (which happens a lot). It has to be renovated once per year but is great to know that, regardless of what happens to Loniten supply, I'll always have it.

I've managed to know about it because it was impossible to get Loniten due to the shortage and the pharmacy stuff instructed me to do it that way, sometimes the stars align I guess.

interestingly, even 81 grafts seems a lot less than your native density. Which is weird, as native density is usually 80-100 grafts. Unless you just have extremely high native density? or perhaps its just becuase the hairs look shorter in this photo or something. your actual result looks incredible, congrats man.

Well, the difference between 80 and 100 is a big difference.
