Hair's contribution

I have seen many men suffer the agony of hairloss. You look at their eyes and see a fragile person who wants to stop the mental anguish from losing what they seem to think is their identity. If there is one thing that men should know is that we have to do what makes us happy. The problem that I face is getting older and not knowing where my degree of hairloss might extend. I help people with their hairloss but I still have to come to grips with my own. I enjoy the positive atmosphere of thi

Sean's hair transplant blog

Just had a hair transplant today with Dr. Scott Alexander. I had 2646 grafts put in. I can't emphasize what a great experience it was. He is so detailed with everything. I will post updated photos as I go thru the process so you can share it with me. I was his only patient today, which is the norm. He only sees one client a day because of how precise his technique is. He spent time early in AM to look at my scalp and strategize what I was looking for. Then he spent about four hou

Where is the best place in the world to get a Hair Transplant? India? Who is the doctor for the job?

Where is the best place in the world to get a Hair Transplant? India? Who is the doctor for the job? So these are the questions I asked myself when I began considering getting a hair transplant done. The FUE method stood out as a clear winner to me and so all I had to figure out who was the best doctor for me and where he would be located. I wanted a Doctor who had experience... LOTS of it! I wanted to know that he knew what he was doing and that he was the best period. I refused to compro

My Story so far

My story so far:- Started losing hair at around 24 years of age. Had my first procedure in the UK with Dr Peter William for 1000grafts to address receding hair line, but my hair loss continued, didn't want to use medication due to side effect horrors i heard. I then discovered Nanogen fibres which worked a miracle. Started to use Dermamatch and nanogen fibres to get the best results. I am now 34 years old and feel prisoner to these cosmetic products. I will never leave home without them on. My h

Help!!

I have had two surgeries . 1500 grafts each time. I am currently 12 months post op . I think it looks terrible and regret ever doing it. I just went to a new clinic to see what they would do for me. They said the only thing they would do is take the grafts out at $8 a graft . They said I may need laser resurfacing after the removal as well. According to them my hairline was set too low. Does anyone have a suggestion?

My Hair Loss Adventure with Dr. William Lindsey (2461 Grafts)

Hello, I recently had a hair transplant with Dr. William Lindsey and I thought I'd share my experience and upcoming journey. First off, I don't see many African American posts so I'm hoping that I can provide some insight to others who are curious or skeptical about taking the plunge. I'll start with a brief history about my hair loss: I started to go bald at age 16. It was devastating for me. I tried many options before my first hair transplant including the hair club for men. I h

Scalp MicroPigmentation

Anyone have successful results with SMP in the San Diego area? I am very interested in getting this procedure done on my scalp but I first want to see an actual patient in person. Any recommendations on where to go to in San Diego, CA or Orange County to get it done?

2013-11-25 Seven Months After

Not a whole lot has changed since last month -- at least not to my eye. I am really liking my hairline though the more I see it. Again, I wish it were a bit denser, but it's still very nice to have it (and not the receeding hairline of 7 months ago). As mentioned previously, when it's dry it looks pretty decent -- decent enough I've even added a full face/head photo in this blog. And if you're gonna go, you might as well go big or go home, so I even sprouted some facial hair for the whole "Movem

3300 fut grafts

Hello all, Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I am currently 4 months post op a 3,300 FUT HT from Dr Feller. I am posting some pics as I would appreciate some feedback on how you think I am progressing. Comparing month 3 and 4 I would like to think I am making some good progress. However, I still understand that it is early days and hope that there is alot more to come. I have taken some pics in different settings as you can see. I think the pics that I have taken just after a show

2 weeks into FUT HT

I'm two weeks into my HT and just had my stitches removed. My surgeon recommended that I rub the receipient site with KY jelly and comb off my existing scabs. After doing so tonight, I noticed that there were a few blood spots. Not bleeding as in running down my head, but a few small fresh blood spots. Is this normal? Like any first-timer i'm extremely paranoid about losing grafts. Again, I'm two weeks in so I'm hoping my "blood spots" aren't serious and tnat I didn't do anything wrong. Can anyo

finally bit the bullet!

Well after about a year of researching and debating on whether or not to have a hair transplant, I finally went through with it yesterday. I feel like I should share my journey with everyone on here because of all the reassurance that was provided to me through this site. After narrowing my potential doctors down to just three, it was a touch decision but the lucky winner goes to.........Dr. Cooley.lol In all seriousness, I couldn't be happier with my decision. The whole day was very pleas

2013-11-13 Six and A Half Months After (haircut)

I got tired of doing the comb-forward and I was also tired of wearing my hair brushed back like a guido, plus it was getting so bushy. Not to mention those damn waves were really bugging the shit out of me. So I got a wild hair (pun intended) and decided to go get my 2nd haircut since the HT. This time I went a bit more radical and told the girl to go shorter (with the intent of spiking it using gel like I used to do) and using some thinning sheers on the back to try and match the density a litt

2013-10-24 Six Months After

Well this is the magic six month mark. The day I planned way back in April 24th when I got this done. Two days before my 44th birthday (October 26th) -- this was my birthday gift to myself. The day I was told I'd really see the effects... I have to say I am a little dissapointed. I have this feeling in my gut that I'm looking at about all the density I'm going to see for the most part and honestly I'm not loving it. If my hair is dry, then it certainly does look fuller -- but that's not how I

New member experience

I will put in new photos later but just wanted to share how impressed I was with Dr. Cooley. I was nervous at first and couldn't sleep before the transplant. There really was not any need to be anxious as the whole process was painless and so pleasant.. Everything went smoothly. After starting at 8 am, he stayed until 8 pm as he is in the room almost 90% of the time putting the implants in himself. He is a perfectionist and drives the staff to produce great grafts. He gives them feedback

Here we go

Growing up, I was blessed with a great head of blonde hair. In high school and college it was especially awesome. The girls loved it. My friends would tease me because I would wear it shaggy and would say that I was trying out for parts in shampoo commercials. But all good things must come to an end. Around 23-24 my hair started to recede around the temples. I always had a high hairline, but I had a lot of hair so it never mattered. Now at 32, the temples have receded far enough that it is n

Need advice…please

Hi All, I started noticing I was going then on my crown nearly 8 yrs ago, this was shortly followed by a reseeding hairline. My hair has now generally thinned throughout the top of my scalp compared to what I used to have and I have a very thin crown. I have dark hair so my crown stands out a mile. I can still do my hair but I'm contiuely frustrated at how thin it's got at the front and how i have to try cover up the reseeding temples. I could go on but as i'm sure you all know way it feels like
