How many grafts were placed?

It was 2010 grafts listed on the board but i lost a graft i believe due to the bump on the head. So probably 2009. I'm honestly more inclined to just round it down and say 2k grafts.

I asked the doctor how much more she thought i had and thought i could maybe get another 5k or so. That's pretty neat to know. She also said she thinks the medication will be the most beneficial to my crown area for trying to regrow but she also confirmed i have a central whorl in my crown and that's adding to the feeling of it being thinner than it is compared to the whorl patterns which are more offset to the right or left.

That made a lot of sense on why i guess it felt like that to me.

I’m scared to fill in my temples cuz I’ll likely lose more down the road, and that will look funny.

Honestly, it's a case by case basis on whether to go for it or not. For me imo it was 100% necessary as i never had them. Therefore having them again would frame my face better and on top of that, reinforcing the hairline back to where it was but not dropping it too low should keep it looking good when i get older fingers crossed.

I've never been a fan of low hairlines when the temple points look shorter. So i would something with a bit more height and temple point aesthetic balance and i think Dr Das discussing with me, taking everything i asked for into account knocked it out of the part with a few tweaks suggested by me for the overall hairline design.

It's one near perfect  to start with when grown out hopefully i will probably be extremely happy with and probably not even need to refine any further. I genuinely think its got that right balance of hairline height to temple height and length i wanted.

Dr Das did check for me and said 1 was lost and the others were dislodged and i think placed back where they should be.

So, i do not have the official pictures pre-op and post-op from Eugenix just yet but they have been requested and hopefully i will get them soon. I'm also going to put a mote through write up of Day 2 as we did end up splitting the procedure up.

For now though, here's a few pictures of the temple points, the frontal hairline and also the board with the final graft count. It was 400 for the left temple, 330 for the Right Temple. The total graft count ended up being 2010 including the lost graft i believe. So the frontal hairline was restored with nearly 1280ish.

This is under the 2200 originally we thought it could be but i think Dr Das was probably impeccable in drawing it out and packing it densely enough just below where my current hairline used to be to frame the temples and hairline will.

I kept it more shallow and flat than a deeper M shape and i kind of prefer it that way.

I also got my wish on having the temple points extend out a bit further to help narrow the forehead but not to the point it looks way too boxed.

Well, hopefully these tide you guys over for now.

@NARMAK Do you have any photos with the hair grown out pre-op? This thread only starts with post-op. Would be a good barometer for when it grows in to compare to.

Thanks Digi. I am definitely looking forwards to seeing it all grown out again. The bald look with the beard i have and the framing of the new hairline, especially with the temple points looks solid i think but because of the swelling, i'm sure i'll get an even better idea probably after the first headwash and scabs are taken off as with the swelling i don't feel i'm still getting a true reflection of it all just yet.

Hey bud, yeah, sorry about that. I think the jet lag etc. made it so that i could give the write up, get my pre-op pictures professionally done and then give the post-op pictures from Eugenix. However i completely know it's good to show off the pre-op, so for now, i have attached the best pre-op i could from by Dutasteride thread. The pictures Eugenix have will be similar but higher quality hopefully.

Thanks a lot Melvin. Yeah, the graft was unfortunate and i feel that it was probably a small evil for the better good and Dr Das was able to get it sorted by looking at the area and i believe she said she readjusted the other grafts that had dislodged back into place.

I am also very eager and now hoping to see it all grow back and see how it looks. Then also i think i'm hoping to really show off the recovery in the donor area.

So far, i think because i've lived without temple points all my adult life and from like 15/16, it's a LOT to take in the new framing it has given me. However, i'm also excited to see it all eventually as the months roll by.

Great write up - damn you had a tough start to things! Hope it all goes well

Thanks a lot. The procedure got split up into two days and hoping to post that up alongside the pictures once i receive them from the clinic and things definitely started off rough but i feel like they're heading towards a good direction and i just need to observe time and patience now in recovery and waiting for things to settle down with swelling. It feels very difficult due to it to raise the frontalis muscle areas etc. as normal as i used to but i am excited to see thinks shake out from here towards that 12+ month mark.

PRE-OP AND POST OP PICTURES!

Hello All!

I had the pre-op and post-op photos just sent through by the Eugenix Post Care team via WhatsApp and wanted to share them. I'm also hoping to get the full high resolution images a bit later because i do think the very fine up close quality isn't showing as clearly as it should with the lower compression.

So, i hope to share the pics again soon but here's what i have right now :)

One thing i have certainly realised having gone through this and buzzed my entire head, i could technically go bald BUT i don't like the head shape at the back personally for it. It's a little too flat to my liking and i'd prefer to keep the hair on my head fingers crossed

Looking great! I’m surprised you had this amount of hair pre-op! What Norwood are you?…….or “were you” 🤪

I was classed as a Norwood 2. I guess technically if i had my complete temple points like some people do, it would have been a Norwood 1.5 at the most although technically that's not a class so they'd bump it.

The temple points were the #1 goal restoration and Dr Priyadarshani Das has completely knocked the design out of the park working with me on it and everything i had said i want. Couldn't be happier to praise her for this collaboration and then truly bringing it to life alongside all the other great people i've met at @Eugenix Hair Scienceslike Anil, Rajat, Satyam, Gaurav, Dr Somesh (hopefully spelt that right) and all the others who i didn't quite get a name for but were part of the technicians team bringing this altogether for me.

I haven't seen my temple points since i was probably 15 years old really because they washed out and even before then i don't really have pictures or anything to remember seeing them, so now as an adult finally able to restore them with the help of Eugenix. I just cannot wait for the exciting journey ahead and seeing the hair come in adding that definition to the face.

I think i am keeping myself in check, but it's also a little overwhelming in many ways having finally got to here and knowing how deeply i felt about having them back.

I also have to praise whatever it is Eugenix do as part of their procedures because despite being a bit more of a bleeder, the donor area has done incredibly well over the last two days with minimal blood imo. My swelling has been there but not as massively bloated as some i have seen elsewhere.

It's been a heck of a journey to get here and i still haven't even really begun. This is still a start like but i'm excited and it all started by sitting down and really choosing the place i felt was right for me. That's @Eugenix Hair Sciencesand the little things here and there will be a distant memory based on how quickly time does tend to pass even if it seems to hold for an eternity when you're in it waiting.

Dear NARMAK,

Dang, it doesn't appear as though the Norwood reaper came for you. You seem to have a maturing hairline. Even if you do experience balding, it would not appear to be an issue for you - thick hair, low contrast between hair color and scalp color and thick beard too.

I might post my review with Eugenix too since you posted yours so I can get some feedback.Tempting...

I hear good things about Dr Das on this forum. She seems to be an up and coming surgeon. You are on your way to having a nice hairline and temporal points.

Since you're in India, you can go to a pharmacy and purchase medicine such as dutasteride, finasteride or whatever you want without any prescription. Also, it is very inexpensive there. Lastly, presciption glasses are not costly at all.

Thanks for commenting and yes, great tips. Luckily the Eugenix clinic staff were very great and a great guy called Rajat went with me to go find some emergency contact lenses in the event anything happened which i got relatively cheap as a backup option should i need it. I also purchased Finasteride from the clinic itself which is helping tide me over for now.

Thanks for the kind comments on the hairline. Yes, i have been incredibly fortunate that in terms of the hairline that it wasn't significantly affected from when i was around 21, but the Norwood reaper most definitely ripped away my temple points at like 15/16, so i'd say its been an almost fair exchange it didn't rip much else away from me till now. Luckily long enough for me to educate myself much more and get on medication and now find a clinic that truly specialised in temple point reconstructions and i'm not left without them until i save up a ridiculously high amount to go to the absolute elites which are out of my budget.

I cannot give enough praise for Dr Das and how comforting it was to be in her presence and hands. She's a consummate professional and really a credit to the industry imo.

When is your procedure?

Hey guys, thanks everybody who has chosen to follow or read this thread so far!

Today was my first full day post-op after the procedure was split over two days. I went to the clinic in the afternoon for a scheduled headwash with @mkr and its always so friendly when you get there and hospitable.

We were done really quickly and whilst there ran into Anil who is absolutely fantastic to talk with and has such great energy. We connected via videocall with Dr Pradeep whilst he was visiting the UK and had a good quick chat. He very kindly invited us to come to the Farmhouse in the evening. Anil made all the arrangements and let us know in the evening.

We returned to the hotel and went to rest up and later again i had a great day catching lunch with @mkrwho will be on his way home soon but we were going to make the most of the final full day he was going to be here.

Later in the evening i got the call from Anil, a driver was sent and we were taken to the Farmhouse. Unfortunately it was raining at this time and had gone dark when we arrived so i can't share any pictures of the outside but it's fantastic splendour on the inside was honestly a sight to see. The outside is fully front and centre in the Eugenix YouTube video showcasing their 13th Anniversary for those wishing to see it. We were shown around and taken upstairs by Anil where the pool table and fooze ball table were located. I think we can all agree men with their sticks out are competitive and so began our pool duel! :D. @mkrdefinitely gave me a run for my money but i came out on top. Thanks for running me close pal! ;)

We were provided with a delicious home made meal after and again, the hospitality was simply incomparable to any prior sort of experience you can typically expect from anywhere else. Anil joined us with his wife and child. He's truly ever a "little (cute) monster" as Anil calls him lol and was a pleasure to meet his wife who it seemed truly has become "victim" to him also beginning to live and breathe the work of Eugenix into his home life. She asked us about our grafts and genuinely was amazing to be able to see that.

I can say that my time here has been great and i credit @Eugenix Hair Sciencesfor making that happen as well as meeting great people like @mkrwho i hope to remain in touch with and see his journey unfold too! Without this forum to create that nexus point of connecting me and him, we probably never would have interacted at all.

I also want to share a genuine appreciation for @MazABand @Bandit90 who have been really supportive and instrumental in me also making it this far with their constant motivation and assistance.

I am going to be leaving late Sunday evening to get to the airport for a really early morning flight back and although i am nervous travelling with the procedure i'm grateful for all the tips and tricks people shared here and elsewhere on the forum.

Dr Pradeep is in the UK and i hope upon mu return to London to visit with him.

Very clean work. This should be a layup for Eugenix considering your situation.

Also your lower scalp...I mean beard, looks pretty solid if you want to harvest that thing.

Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the laugh and kind words.

I definitely feel like the fact it's thick coarse hair could help with the crown area where they usually tend to mix with scalp hair to maximise coverage.

Dr Das said i should still have around maybe 5K grafts for the future if needed. Fingers crossed i won't have a significant progression of hair loss given i'm on Dutasteride now, everything grows in as intended but i do think as people usually say, the first pass doesn't always quite grab the density so only time will tell how that side of things shake out.

The old wisdom appears to be "Don't expect to be one and done" and so i am hopeful but trying to be realistic. Its difficult though as you can imagine.

Hello once again guys. So, just a little bit of an update to recap the days events

Alas, my time in India is up and i am at the airport as i type this waiting for my early morning flight. I made sure to allow plenty of time to get through check in, airport security and allow myself to request to board earlier per the great tip from @Berba11

I was messaged by @vancanwho had just arrived to the hotel early in the morning and we were planning to meet at the breakfast dining area. We had a funny mistaken identity when the actual person sat alone at the table number was somebody completely different :D

It turned out he had already been able to eat breakfast whilst i carefully navigated getting showered and trying not to wash away all the grafts. We then managed to sit down and had a great little chat and once again always a pleasure to have met another person undergoing this journey. I bid Sai (Vancan) farewell as he was due to actually undergo his procedure that very morning. I returned to my room and took my morning medications and because i made the error of staying awake too late and not getting enough sleep, i thought i'd also make the mistake of having coffee at breakfast :D so unlike the original plan to nap again, i kind of just decided to watch some TV and pass the time whilst i arranged to go to the clinic for my final donor wash.

I arrived at the clinic and once again met with Satyam, Rajat, Gaurav, Dr Das who was (rightly) disappointed i had been a little lazy with my forehead massaging (Which also in fareness the pre-op team technically didn't message until listed as Day 3 post-op) and also had a great chat with Dr Somesh(sic?) who's awesome and he also helped write me a new prescription as i decided to take some additional Finasteride back with me to the UK.

I also had a very nice sit down with Dr Arika who so kindly looked over my hair transplant too and felt very reassured by her words that everything looks good and with my situation going into the transplant appeared favourable. Ever the professional we talked about hair transplants in general and her expertise shines through to discuss what makes a transplant favourable and the realistic limitations of the various type of hair calibres on the final outcomes depending on where things are transplanted. I also felt quite reassured again when i did mention my hair being a more medium calibre and she was receptive that it's usually a hair calibre which does well to balance coverage and i also joked with her about you guys saying i look like i've got another scalps worth of donor just on the beard lol.

She's a very busy person and i truly appreciated her taking time to sit with me and talk. I can honestly say the people i've had the pleasure of interacting with @Eugenix Hair Scienceshave made this trip absolutely smooth and even if i wasn't able to name all the people who had helped me, they're all a great bunch always helping you in any way they can. I don't usually feel like the hair transplant journey would make you feel a sense of kinship, but that's genuinely how it did feel with all the great interactions i've had in my short time here. I always wanted to visit India as a tourist and i would most certainly love to stop by and see the people of Eugenix again who were so great to talk to.

As i now sit in the airport lounge, i'm firmly focused on how to navigate the privacy aspects of being able to apply the Saline Spray regularly during the flight and more importantly imo avoiding all the potential hazards. The check in desk said i can request to board earlier but they stated the flight was full and couldn't place me anywhere alone.

As a final note for this post. My leg as some of you will recall met with an almost catastrophic start to this entire journey and whilst in my final days here i have seen much improvement and positive signs, having walked and stood up in the airport queues, it's obvious it will need attention when i return to the UK and is hopefully going to hold up fine as i'll mostly be sitting during the flight and minimal movement until i get to the UK airport.

This opening chapter of my journey in India may be closing but the larger journey and exciting times are still ahead.

Once again, thanks to all the people like @mkr and @vancanfor reaching out and making it a great experience to meet fellow members whilst here.

A special shout out to @Bandit90 and also to @MazABfor their constant support and motivation whilst here in India. Also @drawdownfxhas been great as we've been in touch a lot and also to all you other great members who have been nothing but supportive and complimentary of the work so far which i cannot really take credit for, but is the great effort of Dr Das and all the technicians who have helped bring me this far.

Once i return to the UK, Dr Pradeep is in London and i have been kindly asked to come see him and he's such a great guy, i couldn't refuse such an offer. So hopefully i will have another exciting update in the UK.
