Spoke to them on the phone today

First available date for a consultation is January 2025 and first date for the procedure is 1 year after the consultation :S

Wow.

Although this is what you would expect once such a meticulous surgeon gains mainstream attention due to producing results, given he maintains his surgical strategy.

There’s two ways popular surgeons can handle their increase in demand,

1) recruit a team of alternate dr’s and techs who will perform surgeries under the clinics protocols and name, which is the infamous route ASMED’s Koray Erdogan went down circa 2016/2017

2) Maintain their current operation, but raise prices and inevitably subject prospective patients to longer wait times

I think we need to induct @HugoX into the forum’s hall of fame. Like if you agree.

I second this. The way how booked Dr. Zarev is just means that he has plenty of patients. Out of those patients, only Hugo took his time to give us review of his experiences, answer questions and gave us a glimpse on what to expect and showed us the outcome of an adept surgeon. I mean if he didn’t even post here, we would have still been wondering and looking for a first hand account testimony of Dr. Zarev’s patients.

I saw a post of another patient about his experience but it was on another forum. In the comments section, he was asked to post here but declined. His case is different though as he is not as high Norwood as Hugo.

We are lucky that Hugo posted his detailed first hand account as his case was more complicated. The only results we have seen by Dr. Z is from his youtube and IG account but those are just before and after. With Hugo’s post, he filled in the “in between” of that before and after and that my friends should qualify him for the forum’s hall of fame 👏🏼

I want to thank you, Hugo, for this topic. It helped me in my journey.
This month I will be having my second surgery with Dr Zarev.
The first procedure is, so far, a phenomenal result.
I just opened an account to thank you for sharing your results with the rest of the world.

I started doing research in 2017 and looked at many physicians funny thing is that I am a physician myself.
My biggest problem was that I was a diffuse thinner, so I needed an HT specialist to get the maximum out of my donor.
I considered Couto, Lorenzo and Freitas back then, but my hair loss was progressive, so I was delaying it. Then in early 2021, a friend of mine who is a dentist was also researching and found a doctor called Zarev with phenomenal results on his website. His results blew me away, the best in the world. I never saw that kind of results before. So I immediately contacted him in early 2021 and did my consultation in September 2021. While I was waiting for my consultation, Hugo opened a thread about Zarev with a phenomenal result, this encouraged me much more.
The consultation with Dr Zarev was very detailed. I had my surgery last July in 2 days he was able to extract 7235 grafts.
The best money I ever spend!

Any before and after photos? It would really help the community if you shared your results for all of us.

I might do that after the second procedure.
For personal reasons, I don't feel comfortable yet putting my pictures on the internet.
However, I understand others can benefit from it, especially by deciding to choose a surgeon.
Dr Zarev put a lot of examples on his website.

My hair type and diffuse thinning looks a little bit like this case
https://www.hairtransplantation.bg/index.php/bg/event/4450-Grafts

I have curly dark brown hair with an average donor density of 65 grafts per cm2, Mediterranean.

@HugoX or the others: How would you rate the Norwood status after the operation?

I recently got my second procedure (2465 grafts).
Before my first surgery (7235 grafts), I was between a Norwood 5A and 6.
Looking nowadays in the mirror, I see a Norwood 1 with phenomenal donor management.
His experience and technique allow him to extract significantly more grafts from the donor without any visual appearance.
This gives him a huge competitive advantage compared to other doctors.
He can make life-changing results for people who are NW 5,6 or 7 without even using beard grafts.

How good are those scalp donors that Dr Zarev chooses in his high Norwood cases?

no different than any average donors.

He can get 9000 from mine & mine isnt  good at all. I have had about 3000 taken out.

I saw results where he took 80% of donor on very poor donor area's.

He rarely needs to use body hair. He repaired 2 guys with an awful donor's very thin bot in 60's with NW 7's humps gone. High hairline but complete coverage it was incredible

Difficult how to rate, but visually I feel a have the hair I had when I was 20,but of course not same density.

He showed me some tough cases in which I can assure you no other doctor could reach a similar result.
It's a different league.

Zarev mostly has bulgarian patients with good hair characteristics (curvy, probably thick, and >3 hairs per folicle).

Hopefully the user mtb will also have good results with his thin hair.

When I saw Zarev's results for the first time, I thought it can't be real.

I am a diffuse NW 5 now, probably will end like my father (NW 6).

Unfortunately I have very fine blond hair. I would be very satisfied with a dense NW 3 result. But I don't know if that's possible with thin hair.

That’s difficult even with thick hair. As a Norwood 6, most people have to accept having overall less density/ thin crown.

Most of the time, there will be some trade-offs in hair transplant surgery.

For example, I have curly hair with an average graft density of 65 per cm2. The curly hair helps with the coverage, but my hair-to-skin contrast is very high.
I have dark curly hair, but as a trade-off, my skin, especially my face, is white for a Mediterranean/North African guy.

If you are, for example, Scandinavian blond, your hair-to-skin contrast is lower, which can help you get a nice visual appearance.

We should actually have a hall of fame sticky topic somewhere...

My vote to create a sticker "Hall of Fame" 😉

This is totally going there!

I contact him on his website. When he answered you? 3-4 days after contacting?

Maybe I call him. I think it would be faster.
