  1. Tbh the yield is something you need to consider for FUE. Every patient is different and in some patients there is a lot of transection of follicles leading to wasted grafts. No doctor can predict how much transection you will get, hence some perform a test of a few grafts first. My advice is research on this forum. Both methods have their place. FUE in my opinion is better suited to people with minor hair loss who will not experience extensive hair loss. If you have a family history of extensive hair loss I would go for strip surgery since with FUT you can generally get more grafts since when the dr removes the strip you can use all the grafts on the strip. Hope it helps.
  2. Your scar looks better than last month for sure. It's just a bit of shockloss which is quite common. Rahal is a great doctor and it will come good in a few months. I would suggest using some naogen or dermatch to cover the areas of concern just now.
  3. Hey, this surgeon basically just visits tons of clinics across the UK to do hair transplant procedures. I booked a procedure with him at the west regent street clinic in Glasgow. He didnt even want to meet me to speak to me or answer any of my questions. I researched him online and found he had done botched jobs. He said I would need 700 grafts but it was more like 2000!! Don't trust this guy! I got my ?1000 deposit refunded because I sent them a letter (and the wimpole climic where he was based) and said I would take them to a small claims court if they didn't. Your best bet is to research properly for at least 6 months and get a recommended surgeon. Michael May is just waiting to pounce on naive young guys in a desparate situation. Good luck.
  4. Hey mate it's ur hair so it's ur choice. There's no proven evidence it doesn't cause hairloss and with it being a steroid there is ALWAYS a chance of it causing hair loss, regardless of the THEORY - thats why drug companies arent allowed to release drugs based on theory - they need clinical evidence from trials in thousands of people.
  5. It's still a steroid and will still raise testosterone and therefore DHT levels. If you are experiencing hairloss or have a family history of it, taking any anabolic steroid will most likely accelerate male hair loss. Just get in the gym and work hard. U dont need to juice!
  6. If u think FUE is superior to FUT in every way you are sadly mistaken. Read this article by Shapiro medical group on the benefits and limitations of FUE: Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) Note that they say that you may only be able to obtain HALF the grafts from FUE as you can from strip as the donor may become noticeably thinner otherwise. In addition: DISADVANTAGES • Maximum graft yield, if used exclusively, is lower that with FUT (due to the inability to harvest all the hair from the mid-permanent zone) • Distortion from initial FUE makes subsequent FUE difficult • Greater potential for follicular transaction (damage) than FUT • Grafts harvested outside the permanent area may be lost in future • Potential for spotty scarring in the donor area after a larger number of grafts have been harvested • Takes longer and is therefore more expensive • Grafts are finer with less tissue protection and therefore more susceptible to trauma, and there is a potential for less yield • Capping or buried grafts may occur with certain techniques • So much attention and time is given to the donor area that the recipient area sometimes does not get the attention it deserves The reality is that both procedures DO have their place in treating hair loss, but FUE is IMO sold as having no disadvantages.
  7. There's no question that Dr Rahal is one of the worlds best, however if you research well you will see that generally FUE surgeons advise against so called FUE mega sessions. The reason is due to the yield with FUE being lower that FUT, also certain patients follicles may be more sensitive to the damage and transaction caused during a FUE procedure, which can lower the yield further. Physician fatigue with large numbers of extractions plays a part in yields to, since FUE is highly labour intensive, hence the high cost. The reality is that FUE has been touted for years as a wonder procedure. In reality, it should only be used for minor work up to 1500 grafts IMO, I know this is what Dr Feller preaches. So, if you need a large number of grafts, or are likely to in the future due to your family history. FUT is the way to go. You just have to look at how skilled Dr Armani was with FUT, then he started doing FUE mega sessions and his Yields were ridiculous.
  8. This is the most Pathetic law ever! surely governing bodies want to protect patients!!! By not allowing patients to research and choose the best surgeons, there will be more patients being butchered!
  9. This is an excellent result Dr!! I have a few questions though: 1. What was the pre operative management of this patient given his psoriasis? Did you you just ensure he had a course of topical steroids to prevent the condition from flaring up post op? 2. do you come across many patients with scalp conditions like se?or their dermatitis of the scalp? what do you do with these patients? many thanks, Hussein
  10. Hi Osris, is that the Pre op of you in your Avatar?? you seem to have good coverage for the number of grafts used. How do you feel about the density? will you be getting another procedure to fill in the crown? Are you on Propecia to prevent further hair loss Thanks, Hussein
  11. Good to see Dr Farjo doing Larger sessions!! Hopefully this will be another top result Hussein
  12. Best of luck Raphael!! I've been following your story for several years now. Dr Rahal is one of the best surgeons around. Do you know how many grafts you will be getting?? have you agreed on a hairline placement?? all the best, Hussein
  13. Hi, SMG are a top clinic. There are a few things that you need to bear in mind: 1. 1400 grafts is considered a fairly small session, so there will not be a dramatic transformation. 2. Going off Propecia is the reason why you lost so much native hair. This would have added body to your transplanted hair and therefore it appears that despite having a transplant, you have gone backwards. I am glad you are back on Propecia. It is important to remember that erection problems whilst you are on Propecia can most definately be caused by your own anxiety about the fear of experiencing them. Speak to SMG, stay on Propecia and take things from there. All the best, Hussein
  14. Hi, it's still very early days in your hair transplant journey. Do you have any further information like how many grafts you had? Do you have any post op pics so we can see where the grafts were placed? Also, are you taking propecia to prevent further hairloss? Regards,Hussein
  15. I would advise you to start the propecia right away. There is a lot of talk online about shedding initially when starting propecia, but in actual fact a significant shed is quite rare. It is more common with Avodart. However, it should be remembered that if you do shed the hairs will grow back in stronger. Best of luck on your journey
  16. Another great result by Dr Feller!! You must be thrilled! Congratulations, you clearly did plenty research!
  17. Tbh l'oreal have been selling anti-wrinkle creams that don't work for years, so they have zero credibility.
  18. Having had a look at your pics, for 2500 grafts, they were placed over quite a large area, so the growth looks about right. That sort of area would need 3500 grafts to get a good density. Dr Rahal obviously didn't transplant this many grafts since you have already used 2000 grafts in your previous transplant.
  19. This is really interesting. Hopefully it won't be too long since the drug Diclofenac (Voltarol) is an anti inflammatory that inhibits PGD2 already exists so they can test it. In addition it comes as a topical gel for the treatment of muscular and joint pain. Maybe they will trial it??
  20. Ok you just need to calm down a bit. As a young guy experiencing hairloss I know how you feel. So you don't want strip surgery, that's fine but I seriously think you should reconsider your clinic choices. Armani has some very poor results, and Hasci, Altho they claim you get donor regeneration this is unproven and I'm certain the regrowth percentages are likely very low. For FUE my top two clinics would be Rahal and Shapiro medical group. Rahals hairlines are the best around, probably as good as armanis seeing as they worked together. Although Rahals results are reliable. Being a young guy who is likely to experience advanced hair loss it would be best considering strip as you can get say 7000 grafts this way and then say 2000 from FUE. If you just do FUE, then you will only get 4000 grafts. Take a look at Rahals strip work aswell IMO his scars are very good even at grade 3 clippers. You have plenty of options so don't despair. I would urge you to reconsider your clinic choices. Good luck.
  21. Tbh, if you need 3000 grafts you would be a lot better of with a strip procedure. Obviously you chose FUE because you don't want a scar and I feel the same way. But take a look at Rahals scars they are the best around and are virtually undetectable!

  23. This has been a major concern of mine with dr hassons work. To see examples look at the patient websites!!! They would argue that they don't go that high on most of their cases, however I've see a lot of cases where they have. Yes you can take into account family history, use of Meds and PREDICTED future loss, but this is risky. I always used to think why do they get more grafts than other clinics - well it's because they take the scar higher and that also allows them to get better quality hair. If the patient is aware of these risks and they are CLEARLY told that the transplanted hair could fall out, then I guess it's ok. Tbh I wouldn't take the risk, especially after all the hassle and expense.
  24. First off acell is being studied n 3 main areas: healing of donor scars which so far it seems as though it improves the feel of scars but not the look, 2 for injecting into thinning areas but there is little data on this, and 3 for hair duplication (formerly known as autocloning). Don't believe the link you just posted there is no way they can make those claims by injecting acell as there is no data. The pic is misleading and loss is trying to be hidden on the after pic. IMO acell is very promising in hair duplication (autocloning) Jerry Cooley and dr Rassman as investigating this ATM. Do a few searches and have a look at the presentation on this but it's still in its infancy.
  25. Hi well FUE reduces your donor density as such. FUE can yield less than strip surgery as hair has to be left where grafts are taken from. The reduced density makes strip less effective in the future since u get less grafts for removing the same amount of skin. The best way to go is strip first until you have no more laxity then FUE after that. I would only recommend FUE if u are unlikely to experience further loss. Some clinics can transplant with minimal shaving and scars are generally good. Take a look at work by Ron Shapiro who does strip and FUE get a consult and discuss your issues also they don't always need to shave down for strip. Good luck.
