  1. Has anyone heard of or tried this shampoo: L’Oreal Paris' Elvive Fibrology hair thickening shampoo? If so would you recommend it? It’s marketed towards women but I imagine men can use it too. Apparently, It uses the same process as the glass and car industry use to repair cracked windscreens. There’s an article about it here: http://fashion.telegraph.co.uk/beauty/news-features/TMG10574448/Is-LOreal-Paris-Elvive-Fibrology-going-to-thicken-our-hair.html I have no connection to the company selling it by the way, and so this post is not intended as an advert.
  2. Thanks. Yes, though I will feel even better after a second one.
  3. Thanks. Compared to what I started out with, literally no hair on top, it’s great improvement. I’ll definitely aim for a second transplant, though.
  4. You might be right. The way I have it now does draw attention.
  5. Well, I feel less naked. Baldness for some reason made me feel “exposed” in some way. As if I were going out without putting any clothes on. I know that sounds stupid.
  6. Thanks. Considering the lack of hair I had on top to begin with, I can’t complain.
  7. The density looks better in these more recent photos, though. Hair Restoration Journal for osris - 16 months after surgery – March 2013
  8. I went into it knowing I would need two transplants, so I’m not under any illusions about the stage I’m currently at.
  9. Here are some photos taken 16 months after surgery at my home: http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/journal.asp?CopyID=9530&WebID=2404 The lighting conditions are such that there is a dramatic illusion of hair density than in the photos taken at the Farjo clinic two months ago. I find that under most everyday lighting conditions (including outdoor daylight) my hair looks denser than it does under direct overhead artificial lighting. At some stage, I will need to get a second transplant to add more real density, but at this point I’m satisfied. 11. Hi Hussein, yes the avatar is me pre-op. At the moment, the density differs under different lighting conditions. I should have explained, that these photos were taken in July of this year and so are not recent. The reason I posted them now was that I was waiting for them to be emailed to me from the Farjo clinic where they were taken. The most recent ones of me can be found here: Hair Restoration Journal for osris - 9 months after surgery - August 2012 These were taken in August by me at home. As you can see, the hair appears denser, due to the lighting conditions in the room where the photos were taken. The room has a lot of natural daylight coming in, which gives the appearance of more density. There might even be actual density there, since these photos are more recent than the ones from the Farjo clinic. My digital camera is broke, so I can’t take any photos of my hair as it currently is, to post here. When I get a new camera I will be able to continue my photo updates. The density now when I look in the mirror of my bathroom, which has very harsh lighting, is slightly better than in the Farjo clinic photos. This might be due to an actual increase in density or the shingling effect of the way I comb my hair. When my hair is combed straight back from my forehead there is less density, which I expect is normal for most HTs on men who had the amount of baldness I had to cover. I can see a few tiny hairs beginning to grow at the hairline, so hopefully more density will come. At any rate, I’m happy with the results so far, and have realistic expectations about the eventual results. I hope to get another procedure for the crown once my finances are sorted out. No, I don’t take Propecia to prevent further hair loss as I am 49, and expect that further hair loss will be minimal. My father had the same pattern of hair loss as me until his death at the age of 80, and he stopped losing it around the age of 50.
  12. These photos were taken on July 12 by Dr Farjo. One of which is a back view of my head, which has yet to have a HT done. I’m hoping to get this done at some stage.
