Thanks shera for the insight .. n nope not in my 20’s .. I’m almost 40 soon ? Been blessed with a youthful face n nice hair for most my life .. its the stupid hairline recession .. creeping up Norwood 3 n it’s freaking me out .. I’m lucky to still be able to hide it right now .. but give it another year if I don’t get a good transplant ,, it’s time to pack up my bags cuz my good looking days will be leaving me .. Heheheh

I was expecting more .. he had a lot of triples n doubles in his graft count .. n his hair micron seems good too .. an execellent candidate .. with average results .. don’t go the smp route .. take a moment n time for itself before u hop back on another hair transplant .. remember u still have good donor hair left .. kinda sux most ur triples were wasted on this transplant though ..

Hi guys ,, so how much of my donor hair can be used before it starts looking thin , or over harvested ? 50/60 percent ? I never buzz my hair .. always cut with scissors only .. im also confused when people say they have around 6000 -7000 grafts left they can use from their donor .. do u mean that’s how much donor hair u have total ? Or that’s the amount u still have left before it’s overharvested ? What u guys think of my donor ? Will that be enough to cover my head if I ever bald completely ? I think I might end up being a Norwood 4-5 in as I get older .. what u guys think? U guys think I should trim the back ? It’s getting kinda long .. was planning on keeping it long till I get a hair transplant so the doctor diep will know what he got to work with ..

I really could care less if u go on finasteride or not . But it seems like you’ve done ur research . N know the facts .. if ur hair is thinning .. what choice do u have to prevent it from thinning even more .. if u take medication to slow the progression of hairloss .. u still going to be balding eventually, how soon u want that to happen depends on u ,, finasteride is no poison .. poison don’t make a . Company billions of dollars .. unless it’s safe n effective for the majority of people ., if not they won’t make no profits because of lawsuits .. it’s not a poison unless u want to believe it to be .. the real poison is natural supplements n shampooos that makes claims to prevent hairloss n regrow hair thAt has no scientific data or research to back up their claims.. or Unless ur hairloss is too aggressive for anything to help .. the people that complain most of finasteride are the ones that let their hairloss get to the point that no medication , or apple cider vinegar can no longer help them ..

Is it really that bad ? Sorry u going thru this .. get a checkup with the doctors n see what ur options are .. hows ur family history with baldness ? A hair system is an option if u getting that bald do ur research on it n see if that’s the route u want to go .. but wait till u in college with a new environment so people won’t be the wiser .. there’s some nice systems out there.. N don’t feel too down on urself.. u didn’t do nothing wrong .. everyone starts balding eventually , some at an earlier age .. just got to deal with it n make the most of it ..

Hey Sean ,, how u doing ,, how come u not doing well ? I know u had 2 surgeries that wasn’t good .. u haven’t gotten it repaired ? Can u give us an update on ur status .. worries bout u man .. read some of ur threads .. hopefully things will work out for u .. u always been helpful around here .. n the op,, hop on fin if u want to retain some hair .. it’s not a miracle drug .. but it helps the root of the hair follicle from miniaturizing so ur hair won’t fall out as easy .. don’t over think it .

I think having nice hair is a lot better than being bald .. especially if u have thick dense hair again .. lots of people getting ht don’t get results like bill ., compare him to tillman, who had 9 transplants, n his hair still looks thin with a high hairline .. i take bills results any day ..

U need u to do ur research n understand what each medication does .. n see how it reacts to u.. basically minoxidAl works best to strengthen thin miniaturized hairs .. it makes them thicker n longer by giving it a boost of blood supply ,, which works really good on a balding crown Like u have .. because it’s easier to apply on the crown .. it penetrates the scalp better .. on balding areas .. so That’s what it’s job is .. making those mini hairs stronger n longer .. finasteride gets to the root of the problem , it inhibits the dht from shrinking the root of ur hair follicle , so ur hair won’t fall out as easy ., that’s why it works well together ..

Everyone has their own personalities n perspective which makes it fun to check out the forum when I’m working .. N also learning n educate myself n help others.. but what I like most is this forum stands by their doctors n patients n forum members . Makes me feel comfortable losing my hair .. n not feel lost on what to do bout it ., I was pretty scared losing my hair .. hairloss is a personal issue that u cant really talk to ur friends or family n u can only google so much n not know what’s true or not .. or which clinic are good or not .. this is the forum to start the baseline of educating urself about hairloss n have some support .. thanks

I’m sure u n ur doctor discussed a game plan for u.. the graft count is low for a high Norwood .. but hey u already said there’s potential for a future transplant next year, to add density n address and maybe address the crown also .. - n also what gas was saying wasn’t too negative or anything , he had good intentions .. it just made the op feel uncomfortable, he just had surgery , last thing he wants is to second guess his doctor .. keep us updated on ur progress.. thanks

Don’t u know to never criticize a mans hair.. bills hair looks great , as u can clearly see on the photo with decent lighting his hairline looks natural n dense .. people have different taste is hairline .. Melvin’s hair is top notch , agreed.. he went to dr diep .. he’s a hairline specialist.. that’s what diep does well ..

U should get evaluated by a doctor .. but usually ur general practitioner probably won’t know much about hair .. u can google search HIMS , I’ve been hearing there adverstising a lot.. for like $25 u can get an online evaluation from their doctors , n then u just sign a monthly subscription with HIMS n they send u generic propecia, for around $20 .. i would use that service myself but I have excellent health insurance thru Kaiser.. my personal experience I’ve been on finasteride for almost a year now .. my hairline is still receding from a Norwood 2 almost 3 .. I let my hair gotten too thin,, I fukked up .. it was just 2 years ago I was a Norwood 1 with a lot of hair .. really dense hair that I had to cut every month .. but my hair caliber was thinning n I didn’t notice it .. once ur hair starts thinning hair enough,, the receding begins .. so u still pretty lucky ,, u still have dense hair ,, so do ur best to maintain .. if u do nothing u get balder n balder .. n nope I have no side effects .. at first I thought I did, but nope I didn’t ..

U better get on finasteride ASAP ... u have miniaturization on ur hairline just like me .. ur hairloss is similar to mines .. but I enjoyed great hair till I was about 37 .. at first I thought the recession will just stop by itself .. but it doesn’t ,., and since U r experiencing this at an early age , ur hairloss is going to be more aggressive .. start to worry if u notice more miniaturization throughout ur scalp ,, then u really need to hop on meds .. if ur current hair right now feels thick n not fine n brittle then finasteride should help u ,, n slow down ur hairloss .. so don’t wait till ur hair becomes too thin / smaller Diameter .. then meds won’t be too successful .. so don’t get started too late .. as for the bald areas on ur hairline ,, nothing u can do about it .. it’s gone .. should of went on meds before it went bald ..

Yeah I know what u mean . Those thin hairs they going away .: n if u shaved them .. they probably won’t be growing back .. I know u trying to save as many of ur native hairs as u can .. I think the clinic did the best they can for u .. they weren’t aggressive on ur hairline n tried to spread out as many grafts as possible pertaining to ur aggressive hairloss .. . n u should get an improvement, .. keep us updated .. n don’t worry too much .. depending on ur expectations, u should better off than u were..

I wouldn’t of consider no shave recipient area In ur case .. those are usually for smaller operations .. do u really want the doc to be extra careful n not transplant near those hairs for fear of damaging it ? Those hairs are on its way out .. it’s thin n old n ready to go .. that’s why it’s best to just shave ur recipient area , u barely had any hair there .. hopefully things turn out well ,, u probably will get coverage, but densed packed not so much ,, sometimes u have to think logical ..

New hair n Melvin is exactly right .. what u seeing is rows of densely packed single hairs in the front followed by doubles n triples towards the back giving it an illusion of thickness , without the doll hair effect .. n the see thru effect that u see in a lot of transplants .. that’s what a hairline specialist surgeon does that extracts the grafts themselves .. it’s somethig a technician usually won’t always be able to accomplish .. that’s why his results are consistent .. n don’t require a boatload of grafts to achieve that kind of density .. it’s whats I’ve noticed from dieps work ..

Don’t worry man ,, everyone has the same insecurities n tenseness getting their first transplant .. I do too .. but once u get tired of worrying about ur hair , n losing confidence .. those fears become less and u just want to get it done .. once u arrive at that point . Then u know u are ready to take the plunge,. The surgery , the money , the ugly duckling phase ,, all that don’t mean much anymore once u know u are committed .. u just go along with it .. so no worries .. good luck ..

It’s called dense packing ,, medium tight hairline.. if there was a lot of doubles n so forth it would look doll like . It’s dense packed so it’s not see through .. . dude has a full head of thick hair with under 3000 grafts .. u saw how bald he was ? I pay for his hair .. u know how many people I see on here have to do two sessions a year later to get dense packed results like that.. n I don’t see bumpiness of the skin or prolonged redness .. that to me is a great transplant ..
