  1. In Europe: Hattingen, especially for bigger cases. Canada: H&W (even though I heard rumours that they prefer FUE nowadays). US: Konior ... the clinics mentioned before.
  2. Ok, I really got your point and I hope you believe that I do not want to be rude, but just help you. By the way, in the end I have chosen a clinic myself which is "around the corner". The owner/surgeon lives actually in the same city like me. But: I knew it is a top clinic, and it got the best feeling with him out of the 3 top clinics I have visited. Googleing for the clinic next door or just book surgery at the typical celebrity is the straight pathway to a disaster. Again my take on it: - You are not ready to make a decision about a clinic YET, cause you know nothing about hairtransplants or the industry (and I am saying that, believing you are a smart guy) - The right approach is: present your case here and some users will recommend some clinics to you Use the time to look into the the clinics which are recommended to you and in the meantime, review results from patients in here and read some of the "Top clinics" threads in here. Do this for at least 3 month In parallel make appointments with some of your preferred clinics (good clinics usually have a waiting time for consultations with fits the 3 month timeline). Like said before: Good clinics typically respond slower than poor ones, but in case you get no response this could be due to the current COVID situation. In this case: Just call the office of your preferred clinics. I had to do this with the Konior (who is kind of a legend in here) as my mail was obviously blocked by the SPAM filter. P.S. Many top clinics use techs as a part of the surgery. A tech doing the entire (!) clinic is very unusual. Actually, none of the top clinics I know does this and I am aware of only one(!) clinic in the second tier clinic doing this. How big is the chance that you found a hidden champion using this approach?
  3. I am trying to be very honest: - It looks like you have a great result, especially as we you are only at month 5. - If the hairline is appropriate or not is not possible to tell from the pic one (!) pic you have presented, which by the way gives the impression that the hairline suits you. If you really ask for advice and not just: "Nahh, you have to wait until month 12" or "Just go for it bro", we need pics from several angles (frontal, both sides etc.) focusing on the front and some pics from the status of your donor and crown.
  4. Sorry, this first post sounds "lazy"! It does imply that you are not "researching" at all, but want confirmation to proceed. And we do not reject this clinic purely because it is "local", we do cause this is the typical first sentence (incl. description of the clinic which wrings all alarm bells) of a new members, who went to the first clinic around the corner. Pure statistics tells us: This clinic is with a 99.5 % probability a bad one. Cause 99 % or all clinics are horrible and your description makes it even more likely that this clinic is bad. A few more comments to help you: - Also in here not every clinic is on the same level. The list is just a starting point. - There are certain clinics better for smaller and other more for bigger cases. Some are specialist for hairlines - There is almost a negative correlation between clinic quality and how fast they react - Maybe you have not given enough info to answer your request or the clinics do not consider it serious - Maybe you are not even a candidate - Maybe some clinics have reduced staff as the business is going down due to COVID ... no one knows 😉 My recommendation: The typical path is to present your case in here to the forum (pics, family history, age, meds). I am sure then a lot of guy can guide you in the right direction.
  5. I agree...sounds like a bad plan. HT is for life, do not be lazy...do your research.
  6. If 1) is true than something is wrong with the picture you shared. Maybe the angles changes the proportions? This could be the reason for the reaction you receive here. Of course growth is not affected. But the question is, if this may lead to stronger blooding which makes it more difficult to place the grafts and might effect the body reconnecting the graft. This game is a lifelong fight. Nothing has to be done as soon as possible.
  7. I agree with what was recommended: 1. I understand you want your juvenile hairline back, but: The hairline you drew is way lower than the 1/3 rule. 2. Factor 9 deficiency may affect growth, therefore it is wise t start with a small test case. 3. Most important is risk/benefit ratio: Such a low hairline might give you a small (!) cosmetic benefit when you are young and the results is super dense. But if the result is less dense it would look unnatural and much worse than now. A higher hairline which is less dense is much more common.
  8. Vertex takes longer - no one knows why, and I did not believe it myself...until it happened to me too. Anyway: Already on your month 4 pic you were far (!) above baseline and you comment was "Nothing relevant to see really." If this was "nothing" for month 4 for you, than you are doomed from your own expectations. Everything is right on track. Trust the process. By the way: The short thick hairs are IMO broken ones...new hair sprouts tiny, wispy and with a fine tip usually.
  9. You missing the point. Of course Youtube, facebook and instagram are marketing just like a clinic posting results in here. It is the patient posted results which separates this forum from youtube. This might be self marketing from the patient but it is not pre-selected by the clinic (even though some are, but they can be recognized quickly). This is the most valuable info, as it is not cherry picked. Which way of marketing they clinic use will depend on many factors. As @JayLDD said: Age is one aspect. Another beeing the cultural background and the type of clients a clinic wants to attract. The typical 20 year old might not be able to afford a "Konior" (and he would not perform surgery on him), but might be attracted from Turkish "all inclusive" clinics on instagram. The traditional Konior patient might not even have an instagram account. Also, there is a clear "follower" aspect as "social behaviour" is infectious: The spanish/portugese clinics seems to focus more on youtube, so do the turkish. The US clinics or the belgium clinics not so much. The spanish/portugese clincis also "all" share the same methods (Implanter Pen) as well... Last but not least: The acceptance of plastic surgery is much higher in certain cultures than in others. In many countries you will have a hard time convincing patients to agree to videos of themselves on youtube. Last but not least: Of course a pic can be deceive. Just look at the crown pic in my signature. BUT, a video can be deceive too. Lightning etc. has the same effect. And Couto is the (!) master in using this to his advantage. He is using perfect lightning, pseudo wet hair (while combing with a fine comb in the direction of the swirl), patients with great hair characteristics etc. His result are great, but he cannot do wonders as a HT is pure math. The best results from all top clinics are all the same (density wise): ~30-50 % of the original density depending on the area transplanted with 90+ % growth (as only this results are presented). If you based on videos think that one clinic is way better than all others, you have already fallen to the trap.
  10. What are the pro and con using slits and forceps versus implanter pens (DHI)?
  11. As my second procedure is almost fully grown out I can say: Even though I am not looking like my 15 year old me, it has changed my life in a great way. I do safe 10 to 15 minutes a day styling to hide my crown and most importantly: I am not afraid of someone standing behind me staring at my bald spot and I do not fear wind and rain anymore. It is such a relief. @Sean, we all feel with you. You are in this state for a (too) long time. Are there no options or what is holding you back?
  12. Strange question. The reason many (!) clinics recommend FUT for larger sessions has nothing (!) to do with damaging surrounding follicles. Not even the biggest FUT supporter I know (Dr. Feller) mentioned this as a reason.
  13. You should present you case in here in proper manner (info, pics etc). Otherwise one cannot give great advice. Anyhow: You loss is severe and the clinics you chose are not really high end in my opinion. Do not be cheap with your own head.
  14. This is a strange thread...you found this forum. Get honest feedback and ask for a clinic in Boston. Why do you not use this forum for your own sake? Several other mentioned it before: The first transplant was poor in all regards: Design of hairline, amount of grafts and donor treatment. I would not go to this clinic even if the pay me 100 k€. If you cannot afford the better US/Canada clinics: There is a thread with a lot of names from Europe/Turkey in here (best FUE clinics or so). A lot of clinics like HLC, Ferreira, ... will give you a way better result with probably lower prices than a no-name hairmill in the US.
  15. Feriduni post op care kit says 4 weeks (30 days) too. But if you unsure...stay away until the pink is gone.
  16. Seems like I missed it too... Did Feller reincarnate the FUE vs. FUT Thread? 😉
  17. In general I agree, that conservative is the best way to go forward (just see my own case as a reference :-)) But I think you are over critical here and you are using a very aggressive language ("very weak", "not ethical"): If someone is a low NW (like this patient) with a strong Donor, no signs of further thinning at the age of 28 (which is not really young) and a positive family history, then how high is the risk that he will end up a NW5+ and run out of grafts? I think it is very low, especially if you accept a thinner crown when being over 50. That said: I myself would have not gone that aggressive in one step, but I understand that not everyone is like me 😉
  18. You do not usually get FUE scars on the neck.
  19. Please refer to other threads and show proper pre intra and post op pics.
  20. Without pics there is nth we can say but this clinic having a bad reputation.
  21. Wow, this is a great result. I understand hair greed as I suffer from it myself, but I really wonder where you want to fit 1800 FU? Do you have pics with the new design drawn? I laughed so hard reading this, as I had exactly the same look from Jake as goal. Unfortunately my hair on the side donor is so thick and poorly angled: In this length even with the strongest styling options it sticks straight up. Then my head is wider than it is high^^ Had to shave it down... EDIT: you were quicker than me 🙂
  22. The first question: Are you talking about Stick&Place with slit and forceps or DHI with implanter pen? If the first is what you are talking about, then the mentioned benefits are + Less out of body time of the grafts --> Better survival. + Smaller slits possible --> Higher theoretical density. No ones knows if this is really true though. - Takes much longer -->more taxing on the patient and the clinic team Only smaller cases possible. - Much more difficult to select which graft have to go where, as you cannot pre-select them. - More difficult to create an complete area evenly (this is what a clinic told me)
  23. Mmh, I do not know if they do exclusively stick&place, maybe someone who was there can confirm. But stick&place is not DHI, it is still slits with a blade. And I think it is not only the method you use it is also the experience you have. And she cannot have that much. And more importantly, the artistry in hairline and swirl design is also very important not only the method. I have not seen enough to make an evaluation of her artistry. What I have seen: Because of her methods she limits the amount of grafts per session below what I think is appropriate for the case. I understand you love for the newcomers using the "right" method, but there is no proof that DHI and/or stick&place lead to better results. An "method" is not "skill". A heart surgeon with a tremor in his hand can have the best "protocol", he still would kill the patient 😉 In the end for me: The proof is in the pudding. And Nadimi is far away from having "proof" IMO.
