  1. I'd highly recommend Hasson & Wong any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Feller is solid, but I think H&W consistently produce outstanding results and are best in the field. Other recommendations are Dr Ron Shapiro and Dr Rahal. Those were my final 3.
  2. Amazing transformation so far, and the 2nd procedure should work wonders. My advice would be to go light on the crown, and make sure the focus is on filling the gaps 1st before using using the rest on the crown.
  3. My own extensive research led me to the conclusion not to pick a surgeon based on location. I did that for my 1st procedure where I chose a surgeon in New York near where I lived and worked. It was a mistake. For my 2nd procedure I traveled to Ottawa for who I concluded was the best surgeon for me. My 2nd choice was in Vancuover and I would have traveled there too. Hopefully this will be the single best piece of advice I can give you. From my own research, didn't find a surgeon in VA I liked, but have heard great things about Cooley in Charlotte.
  4. Yes it is a mistake, Bosley is a joke. Stop right where you are and do a lot more research. Luckily you found the right forum. You need to start researching who the top HT surgeons are, and do online or in person consultations with all of them. My favourite so are: Dr Ron Shapiro, Dr Victor Hasson, Dr Rahal, Dr Konior, Dr Wong, and Dr Feriduni.
  5. Sounds about right Dutchie, just shockloss. I had the exact same problem, and it only corrected itself at the 3.5 month mark when I got back to my pre-op look
  6. I'd like to say it's ingrown hairs or just hairs trying to break through the surface, but seems to look more sever than that. I would e-mail those pics directly to the clinic and have Dr Hasson take a look.
  7. The best is actually the fill-in powder. Works great. I never seemed to master dermmatch and Couvre is more like paint.
  8. Well that former member who used to work for H&W and Rahal recently had heard of him and took him on as a client.
  9. The post-op instructions I have seen all say no direct sun exposure for the 1st 6 months.
  10. I had the same problem until 3 and a half months which is when I hit the exact same look I had immediately pre-op. I think it's because of temp shockloss to the existing hair, especially in our cases where the surgeon transplanted into an area with existing hairs.
  11. Agreed, if the post-op instructions say no direct exposure to sunlight for 6 months, then you wear a hat for 6 months FULLSTOP. Toppic won't protect like a hat will
  12. Oh geeze, I should have checked with her, I held off until the 3 month mark because it wasn't in the instructions. I definitely would have applied it sooner if I knew. Actually just found out that Kamila has moved on, it's a real shame as she was very good.
  13. Applying Aloe Vero gel helps big time with the redness. It's not in Dr Rahal's post-op instructions, so I only started applying it a few weeks ago and it helped big time.
  14. I think it's looking really good compared with where you started. Definitely more to come though, hang in there bud and remember to manage your expectations - worse case scenario is you go for a touch up.
  15. Okay, I am now exactly at the 3 month and approx 21 days post op point, and am now exactly back to where I was immediately pre-op. It definitely took a lot of time and patience, and I will admit that there were moments where I wondered if I had royally screwed up and just made things worse by getting the 2nd procedure, but now I can breathe a sigh of relief. I also see a hive of activity with the transplanted hairs breaking the surface, so only good times lie ahead. Will post pictures at the 4.5 month mark. Also the redness has finally subsided. It really wasn't noticible until I started applying Rogaine again at the 2 week mark, but a few weeks ago I also started applying Aloe Vero gel which has made a huge difference in eliminating the redness.
  16. Definitely go with Dr Ron over Paul, and I rate Shapiro as one of the better FUE surgeons in the US, you really can't go wrong with him. Did you consider Lorenzo, Feriduni and Erdogan in Europe? Lorenzo is probably one of the best FUE surgeons out there.
  17. Yeah, unfortunately it will take time. I can't tell you exactly how long, but can only share my experience with you, and that was I only started to notice significant improvements and traction in getting back to where I was pre-op at the 60 day mark onwards, and at 3 months and 1 week post-op I am still not quite there yet, close though. Best not to panic, just close your eyes for the next few months and hope for the best.
