  1. Looking good Dutchie, its amazing how quickly things start to progress and then accelerate. Just enjoy the transformation as it happens, I know I am with mine!
  2. Just to compare, these are my pre-op pictures before my very 1st procedure with the NY surgeon that will remain nameless. The one of the hairline is about 2 months post-op from that 1st procedure. You can see the initial design of the 1st hairline of which I actually think he did a great job of. What a transformation huh?
  3. Hi All, So just hit the 5 month mark yesterday and something great is happening up there - oh boy, oh BOY, OH BOY - is she in trouble tonight!!!! - OH BOY. I tell you this, it's looking real good Still early stages and much more still to come, but if this continues, I am going to be one happy fella.
  4. Maybe even give Dorin a try, he designs very nice hairlines, but goes very low on the dense packing.
  5. Don't do Armani, try Dr Ron Shapiro - he also does great hairline work - more conservative than Rahal though.
  6. I highly doubt it. Those offices are just for consultations when he is in one of those cities. He wasn't even able to provide me with a perscription script for Propecia in the States. In addition he would have to bring his team with him to the States every time.
  7. Thanks everyone for the words of support. I actually had a haircut at the end of last week, and this week I am finally actually noticing the improvements myself. There are still gaps in the hairline, but its definitely not as see-through as it was. I also was able to apply significantly less Toppik for my hot date on on Sat night than I had to just a few weeks ago. The corners on the side behind the hairline are now much more dense thereby making the hairline prop-up more much easier and with less need for styling products than it used to require. Bottom line is that it gets better and better every week. I am very confident that the hairline gaps will decrease as the hair matures. All in all, I look just a little bit younger, I feel younger, I can achieve the appearance of a full head of hair with just a few sprays of Toppik, and am starting to grow in confidence slowly but surely. Just 2 months ago I was starting to feel as if I would never even get back to just my pre-op look. I have 3 big takeaways from the 2nd procedure - 1) shockloss to the existing hair is very very very real; 2) it takes a long long time to regain that pre-op look when you have your head shaved and get a transplant inbetween existing hairs; 3) it corrects itself and the hair does grow back again - eventually. Like I said, the donor region looked like a war zone at one point with the redness, as well as the hair on the sides growing back 6x faster than the top/donor region.
  8. Thanks buddy, its amazing how sometimes we tend to be our own harshest critic. I swear that when I compare the current pictures with pre-op pics, they look the exact same to my eyes. Really glad to hear you and others say that you are starting to see improvements.
  9. Why won't you travel to Europe? Lorenzo, Feriduni, and Erdogan are three of the best FUE guys on the planet, and will be much cheaper than getting FUE in North America, even after you factor into flights and hotels. For North America, look into Ron Shapiro, Konior, and Rahal.
  10. Thanks David, appreciate it. I was trying to attach via my iphone and I am technology challenged it seems. Definitely still very early, and I am just so relieved I got back to where I was pre-op, so looking forward to seeing what the next couple of months brings.
  11. When I was 20, a hairdresser told me my hair was thinning and that I should use Nioxin as it is the cure. For the next 12 years I used the stuff along with the Nioxin hair follicle booster, and it did nothing but make me think I am good because it's preventing me from going bald. 3 years ago, I got dumped by a now ex girlfriend after a long-term relationship, and when I had to start dating again, I looked in the mirror and realized oh f#ck, I am going bald, and going bald quickly. Only after my first consultations with Bosley and Zeiring did I learn about Propecia. When they asked me why I used Nioxin and not Rogaine, I actually answered that I thought Nioxin was better than Rogaine because it is way more expensive. Did the doctor have himself a good laugh. I wasted at least $50 a month on that rubbish.
  12. Oh man, reading that sentence above stung. Kinda like the Bon Jovi song " Shot through the heart" I guess they all have poor results
  13. Agree with Shampoo, why not ask to consult with both of the and choose the one who resunates the most with you? They may hay different game plans for you. I am a Hasson guy myself, but Wong does incredible crown work. Shampoo, regarding the picture, I would bet you that those technicians are only one team for either Dr Wong or Dr Hasson
  14. Is there a way to post multiple pics in one post via the iPhone?
  15. Yes sir, at the 4.5 month mark. I got back to the pre-op look at month the 3 month and 3 quarter mark. Definitely seeing some activity and new hairs sprouting, but I think it's still to early to see an aesthetic change just yet. I will post some pics this week.
  16. Good job selecting H&W. I would check with Hasson and follow his advice regarding Dutasteride. I know he is a fan of Fin. I would think that's it not a smart move to change up medication at this stage as you don't want to interfere with the cycles around the surgery date. This was the feedback I got from Dr Rahal when I enquired about switching from Propecia to cut-up Proscar (both brand names) which is essentially the exact same thing. His rationale was that I should wait until 6 or so months after surgery before switching this us as our bodies can react to even the slightest change in routine/dosage. I am also sticking to Fin until it starts to lose its effectiveness on me, and then at that time I will switch to Dutasteride. Call it a plan B in my back pocket for the future.
  17. Per the Rahal website, Dr Ross is a she, and looks like her background is not quite hair restoration.
  18. When I log on to the H&W site from my computer in the U.S. the price is in US Dollars and my quote was in US dollars (from last year). I actually called the H&W rep out on this when I was considering Dr Hasson for my procedure and I tried my luck and asked if I could pay the same in Canadian dollars. He mentioned that they have to charge American's in US Dollars due to indemnity insurance for American's or something like that. I personally thought it was nonsense, and regret not asking him why they then charge other internationals in US dollars too. Dr Rahal actually did the same thing where they initially quoted me in US dollars. They did revise that policy a few weeks before my procedure, and the quote changed to the same value in Canadian dollars giving me a massive discount. I don't think there is anything wrong with the practice, and clinics are well within their right to price their services/product however they choose. However, they do run the risk of patients talking to each other and thereby upsetting the one that got the higher quote if there pricing structure discriminates against or favors a particular demographic. I think this is why Rahal changed their pricing structure and made it consistent. I talked to a lot of Hasson and Rahal patients when I was researching, and I always asked them straight-out what they were quoted and whether it was in US or Canadian dollars. That's partly how I caught onto the practice. I also think we should all be way more transparent with each other on these types of forums, but a lot of members get so sensitive when it comes to sharing anything dollar related.
  19. Had no idea another doctor was practicing out of his clinic. I would just stick to Dr Rahal himself.
  20. You need to have as many online consultations with these clinics as possible. I suggest you use google to find the websites of Hasson & Wong, Cooley, Rahal, Shapiro medical group, and Raymond Konior. All have online forms where you fill out a form and submit some pictures of your hair - all online. The clinic will then get back to you with assessments and you can then speak to the doctors and reps over the phone. These over the phone sessions are great, and you will get a ton of information. I especially recommend doing this for Dr Ron Shapiro. Their rep Matt Zupan will call you, and he will give you an hour where he throws so much valuble info your way.
  21. Hang in there mate, you will turn the corner soon. Patience, I know it's tough, but things can only get better
