  1. I flew across country a few days after my procedure, and kept spaying with the ATP Liposomal every hour. People must have though I was nuts, but nobody said or asked anything. Also, my head looked like a war zone, so I doubt they even wanted to ask. I stayed in my seat, just be careful not to spray to aggressively where it goes into the person behind you. Otherwise it was no big deal. Also, I believe the cabin pressure dries out the grafts quicker, so it is important to keep spraying often.
  2. After my surgery with Rahal, I connected through Toronto back to the states. Whilst going through US immigration at Toronto Pearson airport with my black surgical hat supplied by the clinic, an immigration officer asked something like "you are coming from that hair doctor in Ottawa aren't you?"
  3. It's looking real good Ernie, already an improvement from pre-op and your Rahal hairline is taking shape nicely. Looks like you are also an early grower. A lot more to come, especially more growth and then the maturing of those new hairs. Enjoy the transformation over the next few months.
  4. You should be pumped up Ernie, month 4.5 was my sweetspot when things started to happen and the transformation started. I think I am an early grower too, so don't panic if it's slower for you, but now is the fun part my friend, enjoy it. Congrats on exiting the ugly duckling phase.
  5. I would also like to thank Pat, Bill and Dave for this amazing forum which gave me the platform to perform all my research and connect with other members and the veterans. Without this forum, I probably would have been butchered by Bosely or Zeiring. Would also like to thank that former H&W and Rahal patient advisor who now runs his own website for the contribution he made and advice he gave me in assisting me in my surgeon selection. Sorry Dave and Bill, I know I am not allowed to reference his existence, but had to try sneak this in hope you understand.
  6. Hi Everyone, So am less than 10 days away from the 6 month mark, and it's just getting better and better by the week. I absolutely adore my new hairline, and it is looking less and less see through by the day. I had a haircut today and after staring at myself in the mirror during the cut, I realized I am at the point where if it stopped now, then I would be more than happy with the result and my goals leading in would have been met as this is exactly what I was looking for. I also feel that my hair looks great without having to put any Toppic in it. Don't get me wrong, Toppic is amazing and I still find that a few shakes and sprays into the hairline makes me look even better. The best thing is that on close inspection, there are still tons and tons of very thin wirey new hairs that are not having an impact just yet, and that will need me to mature, and once they do, I am going to look even better. I would guess that I am probably at 75% of the final result (maybe even less), so this remaining 25% excites the hell out of me. I have also gone on a dating blitz this last month, and what a difference this new hairline and hair is having on my dating life. Just 2 and a bit years ago when I got dumped by a long-term sweetheart, I was having horrible luck with the girls on dates. I'd say 9 out 10 girls never returned my call after the 1st date. In the last 6 weeks I have been on a lot of first dates, and 90% were interested in a 2nd date. I had to eliminate some of them myself, but am now juggling 3 of them with more 1st dates lined up. And these are very pretty ladies. Granted my confidence has gone through the roof, but I think the physical appearance is making the difference. I will post some more pics at the 6 month mark which is June 22nd. I would also like to praise Dr Rahal. I know that the result is not final, but I am calling this a success, and would call this a success if this was the final result. He managed my expectations at the get-go, and although he was quietly confident, he kept my expectations in check. He has delivered a knock-out result that has now met my expectations going in and is on track to knocking them out of the park. Looking back, I am now sure I made he correct decision to go with him. I spent hours and hours researching the top surgeons, and can't stress it enough how much of a difference going to a tried and tested surgeon like Dr Rahal really does make. I can't believe Dr Hasson, Dr Konior, or Dr Ron Shapiro could have done better than this - and everyone here knows how much I rate all of them. I have seen a lot of very average results from other surgeons, and am so glad that I am not one of them. I have been advocating how important it is to choose one of the best of the best, and will continue to do so. Dr Rahal is one of them, and hopefully this proves that all that talk about a lower quality of results coming out of his clinic recently is a load of complete and utter garbage. This man has transformed my life, and I am very grateful for that. At this time, I think I also deserve to give credit to my 1st HT surgeon. I think I was overly critical of my results at the time. He was the one who designed the initial hairline I see today, and laid the foundations for this transformation. Over time I now realize he did an outstanding job with a limited amount of grafts he got for the 1st pass (approximately 2,000 grafts). It's not fair for me to exclude him from contributing to what is currently an outstanding transformation. I was very upset with myself that I never went for a mega-session the 1st time round to get my current results in a single pass, but can now fully appreciate the benefit of splitting it up into two smaller passes, as well appriciate the quality of his work. More to come ladies and gents, but raising a glass to the hairline King Dr Rahal!
  7. How was your procedure Shampoo? My swelling actually hit the very next day after surgery, although I suspect I was the exception rather than the norm.
  8. Thanks for the video Dr Blake. I have a coupon comments: 1) the first guy in the video looks absolutely ridiculous with half his head shaved. Don't understand why he didn't just get the whole head buzz at that point, especially if he got FUT, it's a lot easier to clean the sutured area and apply the ointment with that area shaved than with hair no? 2) don't underestimate the redness. It's real, and it lingers. My redness was a lot redder than what was shown in the video. Mine only started to fade after 4 months. 3) what is not shown in the video is what the donor area from where the strip was taken looks like. I am very surprised this was missed as most patients really care about what tha looks like 10, 20, 30 days after surgery with a buzz cut. Dr Blake, perhaps you can create another video showing how this looks. To be honest, I think hiding the donor area is way more relevant when going back to work.
  9. Paleo, Can we get an update on your progress and some pictures? You must be at the 1 year mark no?
  10. That sounds awesome - please post some pics so we can monitor the progress. I am very confused as to why he got more grafts. FUE is so precise, so did he lose count and go over or did he just decide to get extra?
  11. Dr Hasson makes it mandatory to shave the recipient area - non negotiable
  12. My friend, that is life. It's not just the big Corporations and Hair clinics that do this, don't we all do this in some way or form in our everyday lives? I.e. On a first date we get all formal and dressed up, same with a job interview where we try and sell ourselves by presenting our best side. Why is this any different? If you ever do online dating, we would only post our best pictures no? It's not deceiving, it's just presenting the best. I don't think what the hair clinics are doing is deceiving at all. It would b deceiving if the pictures were fake like the folks at Zeiring did last year in an ad campaign.
  13. Dr Jerry Cooley is a big proponent of PRP, as is Dr Ron Shapiro I believe.
  14. Looking real good Danny boy!!!!
  15. I hear you buddy, I really do, but what's the solution other than trying to educate prospective patients? My favorite is when veterans advise patients to ask the surgeons for a couple of patient's phone numbers and call them up. I always laugh at his one, because obviously the clinics are only going to give out numbers for hand picked happy patients. I think it was Murray Campbell, a rep for Dr Rahal who offered to give me 5 patient numbers to call and I told him to f#ck off politely. These mean nothing. Next time, I am going to ask for 5 numbers of the most unhappy or unsatisfied patients. It's the same as walking into a Best Buy shopping for a new TV. Ever notice how they calibrate the TV's with very bright vivid pictures showing specific content in dark areas. That's not how those TVs are going to look playing SD content in a living room with bright light shining in. The smart customers will ask them to pop in a SD DVD or something and turn the lights to be very bright
  16. Ontop, obviously the clinics are going to cherry pick their best results - I am yet to see many clinics post bad ones, and why in the world would they, that's just plain stupidity. That's why I always take the presented cases with a grain of salt. The key are patients posting their results, that's how you really get a good feel for it. There are some recommended surgeons with very few patient presented cases. That's when the red flags should start being noted. Goodness, it were the patient results that got Doganay suspended as a recommended surgeon. Okay maybe that was due to Paleo - but still. With regards to Dr Wesley, I agree with Home on this one - I think Matt has a lot of deep hate towards the good Dr, and it's unnecessary to tear apart such an outstanding result. Although he focuses on smaller cases at a time, I have been very impressed with what I have seen come out of this clinic at late. Definitely still waiting to see a higher NW being transformed, but I would betcha he has those. In addition, I consulted with Dr Wesley myself and he is one of the nicest guys around, plus out of all the surgeons I consulted with, he gave out the most information. He never uttered a negative word about any surgeon even though I was pressing him. A true professional and a true gentleman, so Matt27, I suggest you find someone else to tear apart.
  17. I would go for it. It may not make a significant diffirence, but I have heard it helps speed up the recovery and growth. I would go for it, esp for only 300 euros (relative to amount you are paying for the whole surgery). Also, if you skip it, then I bet you will wonder "what if....). I asked Dr Rahall if he offered it, and he told me he doesn't because in his opinion it doesn't make a difference and views it as stealing money from patients. Dr Cooley, Wesley and Shapiro have different opinions, and believe it does make a difference.
  18. I believe Erdogan will accept payment in US dollars cash (read this in another thread). It's scary how the staff at his clinic must all know patients are flying in carrying so much cash - definitely open up the door for gangs and syndicates. Regardless, check with the clinic if they accept US dollars and that cash in your underpants or something
  19. Great to see Dr Hasson performing such a large FUE procedure. Please keep us posted as I am very interested to see if the bad man can achieve the same success with FUE that he nails with FUT. You picked one of the best surgeons in the world and you are in really good hands my friend. I shat my pants before both procedures, but once you get through the numbing injections you won't feel any pain. Just ask for Valium and try relax and let the master do his thing. Good luck
  20. Yup, looks like shockloss to me, I had the same problem in my donor.m It corrected itself a month and a bit ago.
  21. Thanks Voxman - yeah it was definitely a very dark and lonely phase where a slight degree of panic starts to creep in.
  22. Looking good Chris - amazing transformation from where you were at the 4 month mark. More to come!
  23. Hey hey - nothing wrong with Goose, he was banging Meg Ryan whilst Mav was banging Kelly McGillis. Have you seen what Kelly looks like today? I'd say Goose got the better deal with that. Now if I could get hair like Iceman.
  24. Thank you gentlemen, I'm over the moon with what I see happening. I really do look and feel years younger than when I first started. The best part is that there is still more to come.
  25. I use the foam in the morning, and the liquid at night. Honestly, I find the liquid easier to apply to my scalp whilst I get the feeling that the foam is being absorbed by the hair and not reaching the scalp, let alone penetrate it. Bill, how do you get the 2% Nizoral, or did you just get a prescription?
