  1. What about this topic Dr, you ever going to answer? http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/181941-%2Aphotos%2A-patient-didnt-pay-his-hair-worth-feller-bloxham.html
  2. Wow, y"all are more insecure than I thought. After my procedure with Rahal, I connected through Toronto, and when I was going through security they first asked me to push down the surgical cap I was wearing or take it off. I told him due to the surgery I couldn't do the former but would oblige with taking it off. I did warn him that it would be gross as hell. When I took it off he was grossed out and flinched. There were people on the line, and folks in front of me had stopped to turn around and watch my demonstration. They also seemed grossed out, but once the show was over everyone just moved on and I highly doubt I will ever see these people again. If I do, they won't even recognize me with my new hair. I say don't worry about it, and if they do ask you to take it off, just have fun with it by watching everyone's reaction. I certainly did. I was kinda dissapointed they never asked me to take it off when I went through U.S immigration ( you go through U.s imm in Toronto). When the border officer looked at me, before I even handed anything over to him, said "are you coming from the hair doctor in Ottawa?" No idea how he knew, but he just did. Maybe the black surgical cap was the giveaway.
  3. This just reminded me of Homeland from two seasons ago. Remember when Quinn was back in the States getting drunk at his apartment building throwing beer cans into the swimming pool, and this fat ugly women who was the super comes over to yell at him - the look on his face as he checks her out and then the next thing you know he is banging her - absolutely loved that, especially that look in his eyes as he was checking her out - absolutely priceless. I think we have all been in that situation once in our lives. http://www.xojane.com/issues/homeland-fat-woman-sex
  4. Were you guys going to give us the answer to this thread you created? http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/181941-%2Aphotos%2A-patient-didnt-pay-his-hair-worth-feller-bloxham.html
  5. I'll be honest Dutchie, that's the first I heard of that. Isn't the safe area called the safe area for a reason, I.e. Is the same area for a NW 2 as a NW7? I know the NW7 will need a crap load of grafts to ever get coverage, but the donor supply isn't at a disadvantage?
  6. Dutchie, I don't think NW number drives the donor supply of grafts. It depends on size of the safe zone, caliber/thickness of donor grafts, density ect ect. Some NW7s are blessed with above average donor . My boss is a NW7 with absolutely nothing on top, but he has an abundance of thick hair on the sides. I always stare when he walks past as I would guess he can easily get 10,000 grafts out of that donor.
  7. Totally depends on the laxity and size of prior strip procedures. You must ask Dr Hasson his estimate for you. I was told by Dr Rahal I have 1 more left which would be my 3rd, and my laxity is average. He did say that I can still get FUE grafts after that. If I wanted to push the limit, I bet I could get a 4th, but I'll be risking a stretched scar, so will use my 3rd and final strip wisely when the time comes.
  8. Sure I will snap some pictures this week. Basically the side hair is now covering about 80% of the scar, you have to be standing very close to notice it now. The top of my head is looking exactly what it would look like 4 weeks after a buzz cut. It is messy as I hit this stage where it's still growing out so it looks like it needs to be styled but the length is not long enough to allow for styling. Basically there is nothing you can really do but let it grow-in some more. The recepient area is slightly redder now than it was at the two week mark, and that's because I started using Minoxadal at that point. I am only using it once a day for now.
  9. If this is the case then the only FUE surgeons left standing would be Dr Konior and I think Dr Vories. The rest all use techs to perform extractions and graft placements.
  10. It differs per surgeon. When I consulted with Hasson he told me he would be okay with me flying from Vancouver to New York the next day. With Rahal, his post-op instructions prohibit air travel of under 5 hours for 3 days, and air travel above 5 hours for 5 days post-op as he believes long flights can cause the new grafts to dehydrate and effect the outcome of the surgery. I saw a post on this forum by Feller stating that flying is actually beneficial to the new grafts due to something about the cabin pressure. I have also seen clinics advise flying the day after surgery before the swelling starts which usually occurs on the 2nd day post-op. So go figure, my advice is to just follow the recommendation of your clinic. If H&W give you the okay to fly the next day then go for it. I do agree with Esrec though, you may want to stay in Vancouver a day or 2 to take advantage of the daily cleaning/check-up they can give you. I believe H&W put you up in the Sheraton Wall Centre which is in the heart of downtown - not a bad place to kill time for a few days whilst you recover. I couldn't wait to get out of Ottawa though - well because its Ottawa.
  11. Dear Dr Feller, In respect of the list of doctors you referenced in your last post, i consulted with Dr Ron Shapiro and Dr True. When dealing with Shapiro medical, I made it clear to Matt Zupan that I wanted Dr Ron Shapiro only. He had no objections to my preference. When I consulted with True & Dorin, I specifically asked for Dr Dorin, and had no objections from Peter. Although not on your list, when I consulted with Hasson & Wong, I also specifically asked for Dr Hasson only, and got no objections. I know for a fact these three clinics will accommodate a patient's preference for a particular surgeon, so I disagree with your comparison.

  13. Was just reading Feller's website. Not once is the name Dr Blake Bloxham mentioned anywhere. In addition, this is an extract from the website: "On the day of the surgery you would arrive to the clinic early at 7am. You would then discuss with Dr Feller the expectations and final design of where the transplanted hair will be received. Before pictures will be taken and the final expectations agreed with both the patient and the doctor. You are then taken into a room where your donor area will be anaesthetised along the area where the donor supply will be taken from. Once the area has been numbed you will then be taken into the actual transplant room where you will be made to feel comfortable. Your scalp will be tested to make sure your are free from pain, The donor area will then be removed whilst you watch TV or a selection of videos to help keep your mind at rest. The experience really is very calm and pain free. When the donor supply has been harvested, the transplant team take the follicles and then begin trimming them and organizing them into 1,2,3 and 4 hair grafts for strategic placement into the recipient sites. Whilst the technicians are looking after the grafts Dr feller will then create the recipient holes for the grafts to be placed"
  14. So I spent a good 6 months researching and researching and researching the best HT surgeon for me and landed on Dr Rahal. After choosing Dr Rahal and paying over $10k for a procedure with him, planning time off work and then the excitement I felt, when I flew out for my procedure, not once did I even think to specifically ask him to confirm that Dr Rahal and only Dr Rahal would be cutting my strip and making the incisions. When I signed the pages and pages of consent forms, I'll be honest and state that I skimmed over the verbiage and never really read much of anything. If there was anything in writing stating that a newly qualified apprentice could be performing the surgery, I would have probably completely missed it. Now I shudder to even comprehend being in that chair having the strip cut out only to find that the critical aspects of the procedure is being performed by anyone other than Dr Rahal. Thank heaven that never happened, but I feel sick to my stomach that something like that could have very well have happened to me if I chose another surgeon from this recommended list. Vomit in my mouth
  15. Good stuff Vox, Glad you have recovered from the heart-attack and best of luck with the HT procedure!
  16. LOL - I actually pulled a similar story for my first procedure a year and a half ago, so couldn't do it again.
  17. 3 week update: Not much to report at this point. Dr Rahal sent me a personal text message at the 1 week mark just before New Years to check in on my recovery. I definitely wasn't expecting that, but it was a very nice surprise and much appreciated. I used the oppurtunity to send him a picture, and he commented that everything looks on track. At the 12 day mark I got the sutures removed at a private care clinic. I remember this hurting like crazy my 1st procedure, so I took a Tylenal and let the donor area soak in the tub for 15 minutes before heading to the clinic. At the clinic, the doctor was very astonished when I showed him the back of my head. He almost seemed very apprehensive at what I was asking him to do. He kept asking me why I don't just go back to the Rahal clinic to remove the sutures, and asked me multiple times if Rahal specifically instructed me to come to this particular clinic. Finally, he also grilled me as to whether 12 days was the correct day to get them removed. I even showed him the Rahal post-op instructions. Then it was my turn to ask him if he had any specific concerns about removing them or if he thought he couldn't do it. I came pretty close to walking out and going to another private care clinic (it was a Sunday). It took him around 30 minutes to remove the sutures, and for some reason it never hurt as much as my 1st procedure. It did feel like a massive relief to have them out, although the back of my head is still very numb. The scar itself looks very messy, so I sent a picture to the former Rahal and H&W employee that has helped me. He though there seemed to be some skabbing over the scar that I needed to wash under the shower, but recommended I check in with the clinic. I sent a picture to Kamila at the Rahal clinic last Wednesday, and she called me back to say she ran the pictures by Mke, and they were concerned that some sutures may have been left in. I went immediately to my doctor who double checked the area and gave me the all clear. It seems to have gotten better, although tomorrow is the first day back at the office, and it is visible, so not sure what I am going to do or say. I'll try apply a coating of couvre to the area to draw attention away from it. I am hoping that my buzzed cut look diverts everyone's attention away from the scar. Bottom line, anyone which any knowledge of hair transplants is going to know immediately what I had done. I swear I will deny it though. Other than that, at the 14 day mark I was able to touch the recepient area again, and it took 3 showers to remove all the scabs and crusts. I also re-started Rogain (Rahal instructed that I stop a month before the surgery). I'm only applying it once a day, but noticed that it is turning the recepient area more red than it was before. Nothing too bad. I will up it to twice a week in a week or so. That's all there is to report on folks. I am now officially in the ugly duckling stage again, so will be trying to avoid mirrors at all cost. For my 1st procedure, I exited the ugly duckling stage around 3 months and by 4.5 months had noticed significant growth. So at this point I am going to hibernate for the winter and look forward to the end of March and beyond with hair, more hair, and plenty of women!
  18. Yup, he is aggressive with the strips for the mega-sessions, but that's how he is able to get so many grafts in a single pass. You can specify that he be less aggressive when taking your strip, but then you get less grafts, so its a trade-off.
  19. Was wondering the same thing. Paleo went quiet, might he be experiencing some growth?
