  1. Rahal's instructions were to not touch them at all until day 14. I hit day 14 this past Monday, and had a crapload of scabs and crusts. From Tues night I started putting the recepient area under the shower (very gentle water flow) and very gently massaged my scalp with baby shampoo. By the 3rd shower they were all gone.
  2. Been on it for almost a year and no side effects that I can tell.
  3. No you are going to need to fill in the sides and reinforce the frontal third, but you are correct in that I imagine your focus will be on coverage rather than density. With that said, there will still be grafts going into the hairline area (temple closure) and mid section. It's really your call buddy.
  4. I really like Konior as well. Great choice mate! How many grafts is he going for? FUT or FUE?
  5. And each performs 2 procedures a day which is 4 a day in total for the clinic. Konior only does 1 a day.
  6. No there is a diffirence. Both outstanding surgeons, but I personally preferred Hasson's work from comparing pictures. If I was only getting work on my crown, then I would choose Dr Wong. Hairline work, I like Dr Hasson. That's just me though, seems you have some more homework to do.
  7. Oh wow, I see what you mean regarding the redness. I was red like that for a couple of months after my 1st procedure. Surprisingly, I am now at 2 weeks post my 2nd procedure with Rahal, and very little redness.
  8. I would change that to "May the sweet lord can bless me with more hair!
  9. So funny that you mention that. For both my procedures I was the exactly the same way. For the 1st procedure, I remember being led into the OR and when I glanced at the needles I absolutely started thinking i can just tell them sorry I am bailing, and remember thinking to myself I can just use the surgery money to jump on a plane and spend the next week on a beach in Fiji and when I get back just live my life with a shaved head. Luckily I had already pre-paid and it was non-refundable otherwise I swear I would have ran out of there. Once the numbing process started I knew I wasn't going anywhere. Then for my 2nd procedure with Rahal, I woke up in the morning of surgery kinda hoping that the Dr had called in sick or that a blizzard had shut down the clinic that day. Same story when they led me into the OR, but once they gave me the Valium and that shot into my arm I was fine. Now what was even scarier was going for Laskik. That scared the living daylights out of me. I was a no show for my 1st consultation. Then when I did actually keep the consult apt, they told me I was a candidate and could book me in that week. I just paid them in full that day and even though the cost was fully refundable, I remember telling the person taking payment not to refund me the money under any circumstance if I cancelled.
  10. I want to be clear, Dr Feller was not my first HT surgeon. I did not even consult with him. I have decided to keep that surgeon nameless out of respect for him and his practice seeing that I elected to change surgeons and did not document the 1st. Even though I thought the result was solid and the doctor and clinic staff were incredibly professional,I think it would be unfair to name him due to conclusions that forum members can incorrectly arrive at.
  11. Now we eagerly await for Newbie to start firing off those quotes from Airplane - haha
  12. LOL - I should have known. Funny thing is a couple of months ago Taurisrisen accused me of being a Rahal hater and a secret agent for Erdogan. It's funny how he almost got away with this new identity but he just can't help himself from being rude and disrespectful to forum members trying to help him.
  13. Yes I had strip FUT performed. Dr Rahal administered the freezing, cut the strip out and sutured it back up. Then he made all the incisions into the recipient area himself. He did not perform any of the graft placements into the recepient area, that was performed 100% by the technicians. He did check-in at numerous intervals as well as supervise the technicians. I was very comfortable with this arrangement, and I am confident he was 100% focused when making the incisions and cutting the strip. At no time did I get the sense he was distracted or rushed. You never know about the technitions performing the graft placements, but I did have 3 to 4 technitions doing this function concurrently. If it was just the surgeon, the process would tale much longer thereby increasing the amount of time that precious grafts are out of body. Very few HT surgeons in the world will do the graft placements by themselves. The only top surgeon that I am aware of that does it himself is Dr Konior. I am sure if you negotiated with Dr Rahal he can agree to do it himself, but he would probably have to only perform 1 surgery that day and I assume will charge you for it. Best bet is to ask the clinic that question. I waited around a year and a half to get my 2nd procedure. My 1st procedure was not with Dr Rahal. I never did my research the 1st time and limited myself to a recommended New York surgeon. I was so stupid that I never even consulted with Dr Feller because he is in Long Island and I wanted my clinic near where I lived and worked. He did a solid job, but never implanted enough density. I did a lot more research after that, and decided I wanted to go with one of the top surgeons in the world for my 2nd procedure - hence where I landed. My final three were Rahal, Ron Shapiro, and Hasson. Let me know if you have more questions, very happy to help. Who are your other choices?
  14. It's two separate things. He wants electrolysis to push up his hairline and temple. When I suggested he FUE those hairs, I believe he e was implying that he doesn't want any more scars. That then led to him stating that he has enough scars from his FUE procedure that he wants to sort out with SMP - separate from the electrolysis.
  15. Could also be age creeping up on you. I've always wondered why more patients on Fin suffering from impotence issues don't just get on Cialis or the big V? Surely one can do both concurrently.
  16. Why do you want to destroy your precious grafts? I would rather FUE them and get them relocated further back.
  17. Lol - I was just re-reading an old Zeiring phamplet from 2 years ago when I consulted with that clinic in NY. They offer a procedure called a revolutionary "sneak peak" transplantation where the HT surgeon will transplant fully grown (non cut) hair into the recepient site so that patients can see what there hair will look like at the end. LMAO. I'll take a picture of that page and try post it here. The sad part is that I'm sure a lot of patients fall for this nonsense.
  18. Okay congrats on directing your own Company - but the two idiots you mentioned above did that too and one became President of a whole country and the other got his own TV show and is about to become President of a whole country too. Sound like two very smart idiots to me no? Have you ever been President of a whole country or had your own TV show?
  19. Oh man oh man oh man - this is going to be a killer result. Can you donate some of your donor to me?
  20. Be nice! For my 2nd procedure, I was given two options by Dr Rahal: 1) As it was mandatory to shave the recepient area, He would only buzz that patch and leave the rest of my hair as is, so yes in that instance you have hair to cover the scar. 2) buzz everything. I chose option 2 because I would have looked very odd with option 1. Still trying to figure out how I am going to hide the scar when I return to work after 3 weeks off, and no, there is not enough hair to cover it. Maybe a layer of dermmatch or Curve over it will help, but I need to find out if my clinic will allow it. I know some people go with option 1. It all depends if you can pull that off. For my 1st procedure, the surgeon didn't buzz cut any hair at all. He just used a stick and place approach through existing hair. I don't agree with that philosophy as it just makes the procedure more challenging for the surgeon, but there are surgeons who will accommodate not shaving at all.
