  1. So glad you’re happy with your results. Thanks for sharing with all of us. Hope you also get some thickening in the next several months.
  2. Totally agree with “mattj”. FUE and FUT strip surgery both provide excellent results. But, you don’t have the lengthy linear scar when you choose an FUE procedure. The scarring is just not noticeable with FUE even if you choose to have a short hair cut. Do your homework on this website and take a look at results from both FUT and FUE. I think you will find FUE results to be excellent without any discernible scarring.
  3. Are you in the United States traveling to Istanbul? Can you tell us the cost quoted to you? I’m just curious to see the price differential. Many guys get transplants in Turkey so I’m sure its substantial. If you do go, make sure your health insurance covers you on the trip (assuming you may reside in the U.S.) It may be unlikely that you would need medical care but its something good to know before you travel.
  4. Well said pkipling, the general public will never notice, even with a very short #1 or #2 hair cut.
  5. I’m with Matt and Bill on this one. You will be fine, just be patient. The donor area typically heals quickly and the redness will typically fade quicker than the recipient area. Hang in there, you have a lot to look forward to. Happy growing in 3-5 months.
  6. I was blessed with a great donor area. I've had over 7,000 grafts and could do more. I've never really worn a buzz cut on a regular basis but I bet it would look just fine. I've posted pictures for 6 years on my website and you can go into the archives an see how mine grew in over time. I documented everything with pictures and narratives. Go to MyFUEhairtransplant.com All of my donor hairs blended very nicely with the existing hairs. I've had no SMP. I waited until I was 50 years old to have my first procedure. My degree of recession had greatly stabilized by then. Keep us posted on your progress on the hair transplant network.
  7. I think we all would agree with Bill. It may be just fine when the hairs begin to grow. Post us some pictures and also.... who was your surgeon?
  8. Hi "GeorgeL", "Shera" makes some really good points and offers very sound advice. In your original post you were wondering about evidence of FUE scarring if you wear your hair short. I've posted this picture many times but its relevant in this case as well. This is a picture taken about two years after my first surgery of 5,125 grafts and prior to a second surgery. The marked area in the picture yielded about 1,750 grafts in 2012. Dr. Vories used a 0.8mm punch which is quite small and as you can see, there is very little evidence of discernible scarring. So...I would think you could wear your hair very short and no one would notice any scarring at all. Hope that helps.
  9. Well done Dr. Wesley. Great look with relatively short hair cut. Very natural looking hairline. Congrats...I sure the patient is quite pleased.
  10. Were you quoted $2.70 US dollars per graft? Just wondering. Make sure you calculate airline tickets/ lodging/ etc. I know its much cheaper in Turkey but was wondering if the long travel, medical insurance overseas, and other logistics is worth the cost. Many travel there for surgery so it must be more economical versus the $4-5 per graft where I had my surgeries which included Dr. Vories extracting and implanting every graft himself. Best of luck to your brother and safe travel. Keep us posted.
  11. Many of you have seen this before but the original thread was asking about donor areas and scarring. This photo was taken by Dr. Vories the hour prior to my second surgery with Carolina Hair Surgery. My original surgery included over 5,000 grafts in 2012. This photo represents the donor area results where at least 1,750 grafts were harvested. As you can see....there is really no discernible scarring. Everyone has their own thoughts but this is exactly why I didn't want a 6-8 inch linear scar and chose FUE vs. FUT.
  12. Find a reputable surgeon you’re most comfortable with. FUT provides you very good results but you will always have a lengthy linear scar the rest of your life. FUE provides excellent results as well without any discernable visible scarring. Check out my donor area pictures prior to my second surgery on my website MyFUEhairtransplant.com. I’m on a portable device now and will post a picture for you later today. Do your homework on this website and best of luck on your decision.
  13. You would typically see much more growth by 7 months. I understand why you’re concerned especially after 3,000 grafts. Everyone is different but my initial growth started around the third month but my second surgery showed slower but good results around 5 months. Others do experience late growth, let’s hope you’re one of those. Best of luck to you. Keep us posted.
  14. Great question from “home1212” above. Very curious to know how the ink issue was resolved. Much more natural looking results. Well done Dr. Wesley.
  15. I had my second surgery two years after the first. After my first surgery, new hair began growing around the three month mark. After my second surgery, the new hair was much slower to surface. Most of that growth occurred around the 5th month and beyond. Let’s hope you have a more delayed response on your second surgery like I did. Hang in there and best of luck to you.
  16. Much better hair line but you have a ways to go if you want to fill in those difficult areas on top. Sorry your first procedure didn't go well. With over 4,000 grafts total you were probably expecting more coverage. I was a Norwood VI, and had 5,000+ FUE grafts and got good coverage.
  17. I'm really glad you are happy with the results. I don't think I've ever read on this website where someone went in for FUE and then had to switch to FUT because of "hair depth" the day of surgery. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this. That said....I'm glad you're happy with the results.
  18. I agree with others, don’t limit yourself to a local surgeon unless they are fabulous. It’s too big a decision and an extra $350 to fly somewhere is not much when your considering hair surgery. I flew from Louisville Kentucky to Charleston SC to have my FUE procedure done by Dr. Vories. You also can’t beat the price of $4-5 dollars per graft and all grafts are removed and placed by Dr. Vories. Others will suggest excellent surgeons as well. Do your homework on this website. I was a Norwood VI. You can check out my website which chronicles my whole journey since 2012 at My FUE Hair Transplant. Best of luck to you and keep us posted.
  19. Wow, great pictures Dr. Seyman, and apparently great results for your patient. Also, nice job with that tiny diameter punch you used (.7mm). Well done Sir.
  20. Sounds like your very comfortable with the 2nd procedure so good for you. Everything looks good in the pictures. Make sure you post more pictures in a few months. You have plenty to look forward to. Congrats.
  21. That small line will be unnoticeable when your hair grows out in that area. Also, don’t worry about the few grafts you rubbed out. After my second surgery, I rubbed out some grafts in my sleep the first night. Losing a dozen or so grafts did not change my results especially when 2,000 total grafts were transplanted. Try not to look in the mirror so often. That’s easy for me to say but friends and family who know you had it done will be able to notice your progress better when they only see you every month or so. Be patient, you have plenty to look forward to.
  22. Exactly why I chose FUE. I didn’t want to contend with a large linear scar .....down the road. Hope you get that filled in successfully. More and more FUE doctors are being asked to repair the FUT scarring. Good luck.
  23. Looking good already and you have a lot to look forward to in the next couple months. Keep us posted with new pictures in a couple months.
  24. I agree with both “matt”s above. Looks like you’re healing nicely. Let that donor area grow a bit and continue to keep us posted with monthly updates.
  25. Nice work Dr. Seyman. I’m sure your patient is very pleased and has a lot to look forward to. Looks like his donor is healing very nicely. Thanks for sharing your work.
