  1. I’m so sorry that the HT did not go as expected You’re getting lots of good advice on this network. Wait until a year out and start looking for another FUE doctor(s) for consultations. I hope you have the resources and donor area to get another surgery. My first surgery went very well and I had a second surgery (2,000 grafts) in the same frontal area and it also went very well. Best of luck and keep us posted.
  2. I’m sure there are a lot of jealous guys seeing your pictures. Good for you! Fabulous results.
  3. I had my second 2,000 graft surgery about 2 years after the first. I will add (in my case), the growth rate was slower after the second surgery. It took about 4-5 months for second surgery hair to surface. Turned out great, though. You can see all of my results at MyFUEhairtransplant.com Be patient and happy growing.
  4. Probably doesn’t correlate Harry. Shedding at this time is expected and good luck going through what I call the “awkward teenage” stage. You have a lot to look forward to in 3-4 months.
  5. You certainly are that very low percentage of patients showing incredible results in such a short amount of time. Keep us posted going forward. That redness you mentioned typically lingers for quite a while but maybe you will defy the odds again and it will fade quickly. At least you have new growth covering it. Congratulations.
  6. I’ve read many posts through the years of patients having FUE after having strip surgery to cover the linear scar or other reasons. Don’t recall many opting for strip after FUE. I’m sure they are out there. My FUE results were excellent on both surgeries. I’d be interested to hear from others who went with strip surgery after starting with FUE.
  7. Crown coverage is always a challenge and typically takes a lot of grafts. Even with 1,000 grafts you will see helpful growth but that’s a relatively low number of grafts to cover an expanded crown area. Hope those 3-hair grafts will help out. Keep us posted.
  8. Everyone responds to surgery differently but growth after my second surgery was a bit slower but yielded just as good results over time. Just be patient if you had quick growth after your first surgery.
  9. Welcome back “OnTop”. Pretty impressive with over 1,000 posts. Good to have you back.
  10. I agree with you, when I had my second procedure there was no discernible evidence of scarring. I often post this picture showing where about 1,750 grafts were harvested. A 0.80 punch was used in the original surgery.
  11. Great photos. Looks like you have a lot to look forward to. You should have good results in a few months. One thing I would note.... everyone is different, but the growth after my second surgery was a bit slower than the first. So....don’t be discouraged or surprised if your new growth is a bit slower to appear. Just be patient. Keep us posted with pictures.
  12. Wow, great head of hair. There’s a lot of jealous guys out there looking at your hairline. Glad you’re happy with the results. Looks great.
  13. I’m sure everyone is different but I experienced no shock loss from my 2012 surgery or my second surgery a couple years later. Hope you experience the same.
  14. Here’s a photo of my donor area about two years after my first surgery. I’ve posted this picture many times but it still seems relavant here. About 1,750 grafts were taken from this area with a .08mm punch. All the grafts were removed by Dr. Vories and placed by him. The scaring is so small it is just not discernible especially with a little hair growth. This is why I chose FUE vs. FUT.
  15. I would recommend you consulting with either doctor or both and see it they also recommend 1,500 in the front and 1,000 in the crown. It’s hard to project with no pictures but you may want more in the front if you have progressive hair loss. Typically, if you have substantial hair loss in the crown, 1,000 grafts may not cover as much as you think. Best of luck to you.
  16. Have a comparison consultation with a reputable surgeon who only does hair transplants. Many excellent doctors with proven results are available on this website. Some doctors will even do a WebMD consultation (online) from wherever you live. This would provide you with a good comparison. I’ve been posting on this website for years and have never heard of BT24. Do your homework.
  17. I agree with Sean. Take a picture of the recipient area with your phone and expand the image and start counting. You may be surprised how many grafts can be transplanted in a small area. You may be able to count the grafts in a square inch and extrapolate. That may not be the best way but it will give you a general expectation. Let’s hope you got what you paid for.
  18. Find the doctor you’re most comfortable with. You’re investing a lot of money into a transplant so don’t limit yourself to a doctor near your home. A $350 plane ticket is not a lot of money if you can travel to a doctor who performs all the extraction and insertions and has years of experience doing exclusive FUE procedures. I know Dr. Vories (and others) offer a web-MD consultation online. You might want to consider that.
  19. I often get questions about how to deal with co-workers after a HT. I just told everyone about what I had done and didn’t worry about what they thought. But...I do understand wanting to be private about it. The little “white lie” sounds like a reasonable way to handle the situation. Months later after the new hair emerges, most people have forgotten about it and never say a word. As hair transplants become more common, the privacy issue may fade away as well.
  20. Looking very good. It's amazing how fast your scalp can recover. Great blood flow in that area. You have a lot to look forward to, especially around the 3-4 month range when those new hairs start popping through. You'll have some pimples so don't worry about that, its perfectly normal and expected. Just keep them clean, they typically heal themselves.
  21. The picture I posted earlier was after 8 weeks but it was in 2012 after my surgery. I wasn't clear in the previous post. My apologies for the confusion.
  22. Glad your on this website "JB" where so many folks can help with questions and provide ideas. If you want to monitor your progress and compare yourself to my pictures, I chronicled the entire event since 2012. You can see all my before/afters with pictures and video at... MyFUEhairtransplant.com. Just go to the archives in 2012 to see pictures throughout the first year and beyond. Best of luck and keep us informed on this website with future pictures of your progress.
  23. Thought I would provide a picture of my transplant after 8 weeks. You can clearly see the new growth. I agree with Melvin, you will most likely see stronger growth at the 3-4 month stage.
  24. Brandon, sorry I missed your early post and question to me. Looks like you've decided to wait a while, heal-up, and consult with another doctor who practices FUE on a daily basis. There's no reason at this point to rush. Take your time and find a reputable doctor on this website. Best of luck and keep us posted on your progress.
  25. Great testimonial. I’m glad everything has worked out for you. Sounds like a wonderful experience with Dr. Gabel. Congrats to you both.
