    Although I’m an advocate for FUE, I can certainly see FUT as a viable option for women who typically wear their hair long. I’m sure your patient is quite pleased with the results.

    I agree with the other comments but I will caution you against rubbing too hard on the scabbed areas. Your head is still VERY numb. I scrubbed my head a bit too aggressively after my first surgery and actually scratched my scalp a bit rubbing too hard. Since your head is so numb you don’t really feel your finger nails scratching your scalp. Just be careful. The scabs will come off on their own in the shower but moderate rubbing will speed up the process a bit. Just be careful.

    Get used to the pimples, you will most likely see more. Try not to pick or squeeze them if you can resist. They typically take care of themselves and will heal on their own. Look at my website below and look back to September 2012. I included a narrative and pictures throughout my journey. Everyone is a bit different but it will give you something to compare to at the five week mark. Healing looks good and you have a lot to look forward to.

    Looks good after only 4 weeks. Nice amount of hairs in those 2,700 grafts. Keep us posted with your progress every couple of weeks.

    Hopefully your punch size was around 0.8 mm. Send us some better pictures in a couple weeks. I'm sure you will see a lot of improvement.

    You should be just fine. Won't even notice it when you see new hair growth in 3-4 months. To see what to expect on a daily or weekly basis, check out my website below where I chronicled my entire event in 2012 (5,125 grafts). I included lots of photos and videos along my journey.

    Do your homework on Artas just like you would for any hair surgeon. The price you mentioned is a good price per graft but you can get that from a clinic where the surgeon extracts and places every graft....like Carolina Hair Surgery. I know I’m an advocate but his rates are $4-5 per graft depending on the number you need. Take a look at his and other surgeons.....before/afters photos on this web site. Best of luck to you.

    I did not notice any shock loss in my recipient area either. You can see all my early pictures on my blog site. I documented everything. Look in the archives and go to September 2012. My website is listed below.

    I honestly didn't experience or notice any shock loss in my donor areas. Your dark hair also creates a contrast that makes it more evident with a short hair style. Your donor area looks fine and I'm sure will fill back in over some time. Let your hair grow out a bit for a few months if you're uncomfortable with it and then go back to the shorter hair cut in about 6-8 months. Just my thoughts.

    After 5 weeks there shouldn't be anything you can do to damage your new grafts or inhibit growth. They have been secure since the end of your first week. Ask your doctor but I'm sure its nothing to worry about. Remember, you had lots of numbing shots on your head so don't scratch too hard, your heads going to be partly numb for many more weeks....typically. Just be careful.

    Good decision to go with the cap idea. I would be hesitant to use concealers this early in the process. Keep that head as clean as possible.

    I'm sure finasteride and other meds have helped many. I don't take a position.. for or against. I can just report that I havn't seen any noticeable hair loss since my surgery in 2012. That's not to say I haven't lost some hairs but visually....everything appears to be about the same.

    Filled in very nicely in 8 months. Good for you. Interesting hairline in that picture. I think the previous posting "pluggy" look may refer to the caliber of hairs chosen by your surgeon for the hairline. Posting some pictures at different angles when you get time.

    Obviously I'm a big advocate for FUE. I just didn't want that long linear scar. I had my second surgery a couple years after the first and after my hair was cut you could clearly see my previous donor area (see pic below). There was no visible scarring to speak of. About 1,750 grafts were removed from the area in the picture.

    I would think the clinic would have plenty of before/after photos. I’m also wondering if they would disclose to you personally which ones were primarily done by techs. Tough decision for you. Best of luck.

    Nicely done with that number of grafts. I can relate to this guy. I was a Norwood VI... 7,000 grafts ago. Congrats to you and your patient.
