  1. So glad you are pleased. Looking good! Keep growing!
  2. Looking good. Redness has dissipated. You have a lot to look forward to.
  3. Six weeks is VERY early for new growth but I'm sure you have a lot to look forward to. Keep us posted. Compare my six weeks results on my website below to compare.
  4. I know Dr. Vories at Carolina Hair Surgery has had really good results with similar hair. He is also "pocket-friendly", around $6 per graft. Good luck.
  5. Melvin's shock loss video is very informative! I think you will be just fine. Post some pictures in a couple months.
  6. I'm sure all the comments are spot on, but FUE results are fantastic with almost no discernible scarring from a couple feet away (based on my experience). I'm sure the debate will always continue between FUT and FUE but I just didn't want to have that lengthy permanent scar with FUT. Just my thoughts. Best of luck which ever route you decide to go. I'm sure your results will be great.
  7. Yes! How about an update a month later. May be too soon to see new growth but you never know.
  8. I've always had fine blonde hair. I was a Norwood VI in 2012 and had over 5,000 grafts transplanted in a mega-session. I've never taken any meds prior to or post surgery for hair retention. My wife is a hair dresser and cuts my hair regularly and sees no discernible hair loss over the past 10 years in the recipient areas. I've posted pictures and narratives for the past 10 years at the site below (over 380,000 views). Best of luck to you!
  9. You may feel the first few needle pricks but the discomfort is minimal. You will be fine. But, keep in mind for several to many weeks afterward, your head will be numb. It takes a long time to wear off in some. Just be careful if you bump your head. Also don't scrub your head too hard with your hands a week or so after surgery when your showering. Your scabs and numb head can cause you to be a bit too rigorous in the shower especially when your starting to loosen up the existing scabs from the surgery. Just be smart and best of luck with your surgery! Keep us posted.
  10. Never heard of that before or ever reported here on the transplant network. Keep us posted. If it number is nominal, I'm sure no one will notice. Keep us posted.
  11. Looking really good! I'm so glad you're satisfied. Keep us posted each month!
  12. Yes, my results were fantastic. Over 10 years later and I see no discernible hair loss in the recipient area. My wife cuts my hair every 8 weeks and she sees no hair loss as well.
  13. You will definitely experience the numbness for quite some time. A lot of anesthesia was used and it takes weeks to completely wear off. Don't worry, this is perfectly normal. If you bump your head, check it out. The grafts will be fine but you may scratch or cut yourself and really not feel much at all. Just be safe for a while.
  14. I would agree with 2,500 being plenty for the frontal. Crown doesn't look too bad at this point. I would concentrate on the front and keep an eye on the crown for a while and concentrate on that with an additional surgery down the road. We don't know what your age is but my balding patterns leveled off in my mid-thirties so it was easier to anticipate grafts needed for good coverage.
  15. Careful with the washing but you will be fine. Those grafts are firm and strongly embedded after 3 or 4 days. When you're able to shower be careful and don't rub your head too hard when you shampoo it. Remember, your head will remain very numb for quite a while so you won't be feeling anything in those recipient areas. Just be gentle for awhile. Looking forward to seeing some pictures of growth in 3 to 4 months!
  16. So glad to see quick growth. Congrats. This gives other guys hope for the same. By the way, after 10 + years I still have no discernible hair loss in the recipient area. Hope you have the same results.
  17. Good for you. Keep us posted. Keep growing.
  18. You're approaching the 3 month mark. Stay patient and post some pictures about a month from now. Hang in there, let's hope for some good growth very soon.
  19. I only mentioned 28 being young because you will definitely experience more hair loss. Adding hair now is fine but you will likely lose current hair later. Good surgeons will take that into consideration when they do the surgery. Why would I have a transplant at 50? I put it off a few years because I didn't want to do it while I was working. I didn't want to have to explain to anyone what was going on, etc. I just wasn't in any hurry. I retired at 50 and it was a nice gift at the time! Six months after the surgery friends were telling me I looked 10 years younger. Good luck with your transplant!
  20. 3,500 - 4,000 would do a decent job. If you live in the USA, stay here!!! Save your money and avoid the Turkey clinics. You will be glad you did.
  21. No chance of making that large area look good with 2,500 grafts. As a comparison, I had 5,250 in the same areas. Check out my website below and compare yourself with me. Save your money and do a mega-session if your donor area is good enough. My donor was super good.
  22. I think "Vann" makes some good points. Don't go too crazy at your age. 28 is quite young. My recession stabilized in my early to mid-30s. Got my transplant at age 50. I've never taken meds for hair retention.
  23. Should start to see more growth soon! Check out my website (listed below) and look back in my archives and you can compare yourself with my progress at the time. I posted pictures and dialogue throughout my process. 380,000 views in the past 10 years or so.
  24. Very nice. 2,100 grafts will fill that area very nicely. Keep us posted in about 3-4 months with pictures and your thoughts. Happy growing.
