  1. looks great David! congrats - and same goal here for spring, lose some weight!
  2. I think your hair system looks fine and if you're comfortable with it, ride it out as long as you can - I would not waste any potential grafts on your temples merely to support your hair system, because if you do decide on a HT in the future, given your limited donor, 1). you probably could have used those grafts elsewhere, and 2). doing even a conservative hairline in a future HT would look odd given you had some temple work done. Its like you're working in the reverse!
  3. I was also considering Lorenzo in Span because I definitely wanted FUE - but thankfully I found Rahal in North America who would do FUE on me, most of the other docs I consulted with in North America were all recommending FUT - I'm from the NJ/NY area so traveling to Canada was a quick 1 hour flight! You have your pick of some great FUE docs in Europe
  4. thanks for the compliment - while I don't have a thread, in my profile you can see my albums of pics of my HT progress - I had 2 FUE procedures with Rahal spaced out over a year. Sept 2014 was my first with 2k grafts for hairline and frontal zone restoration. And then a year later, Sept 2015, we did another 1,500 grafts for the mid-scalp and up to the crown. So a total of only 3,500 grafts in both procedures. I am a high NW5A to 6, and my donor was not so great, but considering where I started, I am very pleased with the results, it is night & day for me! and Dr. Rahal is indeed a top knotch surgeon and just great guy - his clinic & staff offers some of the best pre and post-op care anywhere, I'm very pleased I ended up going with him!
  5. you've come a long way and its already a significant improvement from your pre-HT stage, the hairline looks to have been placed just right and as soon as you start adding some more density - I think you're going to be very happy - I too like the unique extraction pattern and strip that was leave unharvested! very interesting - congrats and continued best wishes in your growing!
  6. I had 2 FUE sessions with Dr. Rahal with a total of 3,500 grafts over both procedures which were a year apart. My first procuedure was in Sept 2014 to address the hairline and frontal zone - here he worked with 2k grafts. My second procedure was in Sept 2015 to work behind the frontal zone and up to the crown. Here he worked with 1,500 grafts. Both of these procedures started at 6:30 am and ended late afternoon / early evening. And Rahal has a "team" of technicians as well for implantation, etc. I don't see how you realistically get 4k grafts done in a day for the reasons stated by others above. Really check into it ..
  7. some people are literally "jealous" - I hope you just smiled and said nothing! congrats man looking great so far
  8. that is a "sick" result - ie. unbelievable! congrats man
  9. excellent points Spanker - when I see a very young patient getting their existing hairline lowered, it always makes me wonder what they've gotten themselves into in terms of trying to keep up with that hairline with a lifetime of surgeries - and hopefully their donor would allow them to do it - I believe the hairline should always be conservatively placed, except of course if you have a low probability of losing more hair, etc.
  10. I think any reputable doc would turn you away for surgery, your hair is in excellent shape, maybe some slight miniturization at the hairline & temples which you could stabilize with meds and/or minoxidil, otherwise enjoy your youth and awesome head of hair!
  11. Dr. Feller takes alot of criticism and heat on these forums - in my book he's one of the most ethical, caring, top notch surgeons in his field, besides being a genuinely nice, funny guy!
  12. hey Harisearch - I'm glad you're at a better place with yourself, because that's really what drives everything else - now that you're happy & confident you can be yourself and be better for others as well! we were at a similar hair loss stage probably NW5A-6. My HT was transformational for me too, and this forum did alot to help in terms of guidance and support - keep up the good spirits and drive it thru your continued growth! best wishes man
  13. and you have a great looking hairline too! congrats - wait until that thing matures into the 12 and 18 month mark, its going to look even better
  14. before I'd start harvesting FUE grafts for my crown, I'd wait at least one full year for your current HT to your frontal zone to come in to ensure you don't need additional grafts in that area that may not have taken, need for additional density, etc. I wouldn't even be thinking about your crown at this point until you see what result you've ended up with in the most important part of any HT - framing of the face
  15. I dont think anyone on this forum would be "pushing" you one way or another, but just providing their advice based on experience. At least that's what this forum is supposed to be about. If you want to stay local, you can't go wrong with Dr. Feller. I've also consulted with him, met him and think he's a passionate, experienced and top notch surgeon in his field. Best of luck.
  16. very happy for you Mick, your result looks AMAZING - another great FUE example
  17. we're all extremely lucky to have skilled, competent, passionate doctors who perform these surgeries, whether its FUT or FUE, and quite frankly make mega-sessions look easy to perform and relatively pain free - I had more discomfort getting an implant at my dentist's office than with my HT procedure !
  18. i'm not positive, but I think some docs & clinics, like H&W and Rahal, require that the recipient area be shaved for the exact reason Stig mentioned, so that incisions could be made accurately, so there is no transecting of native hair, etc. So you're definitely better off that it was shaved, just do the back & sides as short as you can to conceal your scar and let the top heal and grow in. We've all gone through it, its not fun, feels odd, etc. but you'll get used to it to the point where you won't even care, believe me... don't stress about it
  19. its not short or buzzed by any means, its probably an inch long
  20. HTyyz - I booked my procedure nearly 8 or 9 months before because I planned it out that way in terms of taking vacation time etc. I know Dr. Rahal's waiting list can be 4-6 months depending on the time of year, his surgery schedule etc. His office should be able to give you some initial estimate of time based on their surgery calendar. With respect to scarring, FUE is less invasive than FUT - ie. there will be no linear scar as grafts are removed one at a time rather than thruough an entire strip. However, with any surgery, there will be some scarring - with FUE sometimes they appear like small white dots. Sometimes barely noticeable if you keep your hair extremely short, but if you know what you're looking for, you can notice them - and probably will notice them if you shave your head very close. I don't do either so its not an issue for me, but I chose FUE because it obviously is less invasive and I did not want a linear scar from one side of my head to the other. Any other questions including any about Rahal, etc. do not hesitate to send me a private messsage.
  21. thanks Indi9 - i'll check that out - I've been taking Shen Min Hair Stenghtening supplement for Men. Its got Folic Acid Biotin etc.
  22. thanks alot guys, I"m very pleased - especially from where I started from, it was more of a "corrective" procedure for me, but turned out being a life changer in terms of being able to wear hair more naturally, not doing creative styling everyday, covering up plugs, etc. as far as meds - I was never on them before or after the procedure. I did try them when I was younger, did not see any results, so I stopped, but I'm hoping my hair loss pattern was somewhat stabilized before I had my procedure, so my primary objective is just to maintain and keep this as long as I can!! I do use Rogaine foam twice daily and take a host of supplements, including Saw Palmetto, Glucosamine Chondrotin MSM, Biotin, etc. I also use the Regenpure shampoos daily, except I alternate DR every other day instead of daily. that's about it... anything else you guys would recommend?
  23. Yes Spanker - good eye! those "plugs" up front in what was my hairline were from my 1st procedure in the early 90's when I was in my 20's which I should have NEVER had --
  24. Hi Everyone - I just wanted to provide an updated photo of results approx 1 year and 5 months after my 1st FUE with Dr. Rahal in Ottawa. My first procedure was in Sept. 2014 where he restored the frontal zone with a little over 2k grafts. A year later, Sept 2015, I had a 2nd FUE where he worked behind the frontal zone up to my crown with another 1500 grafts - or a total of 3500 grafts in 2 procedures spaced out over a year. I'm a 47 year old male, I've attached a pic of my hair loss condition before my first procedure - as you can see I had extensive hair loss - NW 5A - 6. In my opinion Dr. Rahal did alot with very little... very happy with my decision to have gone with his clinic.
  25. lowering a hairline is a tricky thing because if you lower your hairline alone and meanwhile your temples are also receding (as I see yours have) - the hairline will look odd and un-natural -
