  1. Different variables. If you're a 25 year old guy who's never used med who's lost a ton of hair, you're probably not a good candidate for a dense hairline. Hair loss and transplantation has come a long way in the past decade or two. Guys are getting on meds sooner and doctors are able to perform surgery more efficiently. Unfortunately, we wont really know how big of an impact all that is for another decade or so when we reflect. Between the combination of FUT and FUE with decent donor I think most guys can harvest 10k+ grafts. Unless you're deep in the 6/7's, I think most can end up with a decent head of hair.
  2. Deceptive photos is a huge issue from clinics and patients alike. Guys often cherry pick their result photos to get praise, which I don't really get. Then, clinics will often compare wet or precariously positioned hair ( basically hair at its worst) to final results when hair is shown at its best. Dr. Hasson performed a transplant on me, that I'm satisfied with mostly. When taking my before photos I remember him exposing the bald area and saying something to the effect of ' We'll try to make it look as bad as possible' My pre-op pics were nothing like I'd ever actually wear my hair.
  3. Bill -I'd like to congratulate you on that half hearted apology. Bravo! Given the current landscape of whats being discussed and drama around this place, you cannot expect us to assume you made a typo and make a conclusion from there. It was your mistake, not ours and while you briefly recognized that in your post. The majority of it felt like beration. And to be clear. I have nothing against anyone on this forum or their opinions. We all come here for the same unfortunate reason. My issue is with Fellers antics. It seems he likes to stir up unnecessary drama and threads always end up with a bunch of post deleted or warnings being given when people start talking against him.
  4. I see some slight recession at the temples from last year to this, but your hair looks pretty solid. I would stick to the meds and reaccess a year or 2 from now. There's no turning back from a transplant. check out this thread. You guys are about a year apart in age http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/182614-suggestions-please-grafts-doc.html
  5. It's interesting to see things up close and real, but your posts with pics and vids of the donor extraction always seem like a bit much
  6. The number Dr. Erdogan recommends isn't necessarily what you'll be receiving. You'll have an in house consultation the day before your surgery where he'll go over expectations, your hair characteristics, depth of hair loss and donor quality and come up with a game plan. It's a pretty thorough process. In my opinion the amenities his clinic provides is overkill, but in a positive way. Also, I really doubt he's being dishonest with graft count. He could easily raise his price if was trying to make extra money. He does shoot a little high on graft count, but I think its because he's looking for home runs every time. I had a surgery with Dr. Hasson and I always felt "damn, if he was a little more aggressive, I would be happy with my hairline forever'
  7. Contact Dr Erdogan. His price is 2.5 Euro/graft and he specializes 100% in FUE with stellar results Here are some results of patients that had high NW loss ASMED | Hair Transplant Results Gallery - Norwood 6
  8. Much of the complaints in the comparison are chippy. He does have arrogance about him, but I think its due in part to his proven track record and confidence in his ability. Still, he should still show patience and compassion when it comes to every part of the process. Why is there always so much drama surrounding Feller. He's a great doc with proven results but for as long as I've been on these forums, he always causing ruckus and it seems ( *** MY OPINION***) Bill is always there defending him and warning members about what they say to/against him. Years ago I was given a warning and I think a post was deleted because I was questioning some of the drama.
  9. You gotta weigh the pros and cons. I would not jump into anything so quickly. Not saying you're making a bad decision and even if you wait a month after doing a TON of research, you might end up with the same game plan, but a HT is serious business, so you want to make sure every part of the process is well thought out. My opinion you need FUT mega session by H&W or Rahal. I would not go for FUE at this point. You'll end up paying the same(ish) for 6k FUT as you would 3k FUE. Since you're local, you can ask to be put on a cancellation spot, which will save you greater. The bright side in all of this is your curly hair. You get the appearance of WAY more coverage with less grafts. It's a blessing.
  10. Thanks for all the replies. Hair shingles, especially on the sides. I think in part because of how I style and how dry and wiry my hair is, it doesn't show the exact reality. I'll try and snap some pics with it how normal people would style. There's a lot of questions and comments. I haven't talked to the clinic and I actually won't be going back to them. No hard feelings but if I do move forward, I'll choose a different doctor for the touch up.
  11. My mistake. I went from first page to the last. Pics are on 6&7. Its still hard to assess because you don't have a pre-op pic with hair, so who knows where you really came from. That said, you've now entered the toughest phase, which is the waiting game. Hair transplant and hair growth in general is a very slow process. I would avoid the mirror if I were you. Guys often check on it constantly and in my opinion that hinders the ability to realize progress. Check on it once a week or once a month and take photos so you can compare. 2 months from now when you're comaring month 5 to 7-8 you'll be saying 'wow'
  12. Thanks for all the input guys. @ dutchie- Only the bottom pics are styled ( not sure if you realize that or not). I think a lot of guys cherry pick their photos to show the 'best' . My goal was to give it in many variation without making it look worse or better. It gives better representation of reality. @Harryforreal- Yes, Dr. Hasson did the work. Like I said to dutchie. I think guys cherry pic. Guys are more willing to show pics when at their best probably to hear the positive feedback. What are your thoughts on Rahal or Erdogan? They both have really solid results with hairline work. @thatoldchestnut - I wish I could say I was content. I get by and can lead a bit of a normal life, but I still have to mess with my hair daily. I guess I'm trying to give off the impression of no/minimal hair loss. I have a young looking face (often mistaken for low/mid 20's), and the hair can greatly impact that. I'm not afraid of the transplant or the cost. My only concern is future loss and if I'd have enough donor hair to adequately keep up. Us balding bros got it bad =/
  13. Not quite the feedback I was after, but it works =) You mean the style? I really like my hair if I'm being honest =)
  14. need pics to assess at all. Everyone's growth is individual though, 9-12 months is a better indicator of what the finished product looks like
  15. Hair loss has been a part of my life since late teens when a few people had commented on my receded temples. At age 22 I really became paranoid ( I still had a lot of hair, but I was like any other kid facing reality). Consulted a few docs and all said no but Armani. Decided to wait and finally had my first transplant age 27 with Dr. Hasson in canada. I don't have a lot of photos from then but heres a small idea of where I was at with things and then here's what I look like after 2900 grafts placed in the shaved area and hears an idea of the finished product. Honestly, it changed my life. Hair loss was still a concern because I had to manipulate it to get it to look 'right' but at least now I had the option. Sorry no styled photos but you'll see some below The rest of these photos are just to give you guys a general idea of things. I've been on FIN since the transplant and its helped a ton, I may have slightly thinned elsewhere but I think its been my saving grace. I've taken a lot at different angles, with hair in different directions. These are photos with yesterdays styled hair, so there is product in it. My hair is horse like where its kind of dry and course/wiry. Hair to the side Hair pushed forward Donor/crown Original donor scar Then the hairline I'd want I've crinkled my forehead. I read somewhere that the top winkle indicates close location to original hairline. I'm not really after that, but it's still interesting to compare profile These are recent styled pics Here's a comparison to a coalition doc that took photo in blue in 2012 verse about 2 weeks ago My 'new' hairline would lower the peak by 1ish cm with a total distance of about 16. It does grow a bit as its making its way to the temples but no more than 2cm. In total its probably 26/27 square cm's. 50 x's 27 = 1350. I'm thinking a procedure of 1500 and we can either pack the hairline with a little more or thickin up the hair directly behind the hairline. I think a lot of people would say, it looks fine the way it is, but really its not. It takes work to conceal it the way I do. I think styling would be night and day with that little tweak. Feedback appreciated
  16. Patience is virtue, guys. We have a small idea on where patients should be at a certain point, and often I think we make the mistake of expecting growth or even a final result based on a photo of someone who's case is similar. The reality is, every part of the process is individual. The good things is all 3 of you are at the EARLIEST stage of when growth happens. Best of luck to all of you!
  17. Have you noticeably thinned out? When I was 22ish, I started taking propecia. I felt I wasn't getting any results so I discontinued treatment. Between 22-26 my hairline, moved quite a bit. At 27 I had a transplant and resumed treatment with finasteride. I'm a few months from 33 and I can say that it has helped for sure. Hair is still doing great 6 years later and I cannot see any new loss
  18. Looks good man. My hair style is similar to yours but a bit messy and its always a nice feeling when someone compliments my hair. Bet it feels good going from where you were to where you are.
  19. It really depends on your expectations. I had a transplant with Dr. Hasson in 2010. I haven't lost much, if any since, but my hairline could use a small amount of work because I would like it to be more aggressive.
  20. Not so sure why many are on the defense. Any/all are right, he can do what he wants, how he wants, and owes nothing to me or any of you. It was a mere suggestion and IMO one that will only help us all. Shocked that some of you guys are comparing my suggestion of a little more clear pictures to cutting a haircut a certain way. @bonkerstonker. Completely wrong. My hair looks better now than it did when I was 20 (in my 30's). I deleted all my posts because a sad troll linked me to another forum and made threats against me which involved a female. I come here once every few months when I'm bored. Pic below is from another coalition Dr who's local to me. He's tracking my progress as I get my yearly fin prescription. Pics and gif are within the last 6 months. and then here's a gif because I didn't want to post crap ton of pics in his thread. http://gifmaker.me/PlayGIFAnimation.php?folder=2013111901ulH7oI5bQXWd3ZQlmEVblo&file=output_PZS3J8.gif CD- Again, I meant no disrespect by my suggestion. I feel a lot more educated after been through the process and I'm fairly certain if I need another it will be with Rahal. Just trying to get the most honest version of his work.
  21. See bolded part. I stated a few times that I was knocking anything you are doing. With that said, I still think your pics don't represent your transplant whether it be good or bad and you've confirmed that by letting us know people IRL have stated the same thing. My transplant was with Dr. Hasson and so far so good but I think I may go with Rahal in the unfortunate event of needing another transplant. Anywho, happy growing..
