  1. Who are we trying to hide it from? If you're talking co-workers in an office setting, they are likely to notice it. Your head will tilt this way, or that way, or the light will hit it a certain way etc. Outside people that you run across in passing, probably wont notice. The 'best concealer debate' is always a toss up. Basically you gotta try them out and see what suits you best. I tried toppik and dermmatch and ditched them both after a couple uses. To me they both made things look a bit funky. Look into dry shampoo in your color, it might help.
  2. I tried the shaved look, was NOT the look for me. Wish that it was. Life would have been so easy to not have hair problems.
  3. Looks normal to me, its still a fresh wound. Either way, just gotta be patient since the staples have already been removed. You'll be fine
  4. Nobody likes to hear the truth, but I'm gonna give it to your straight. Don't waste your time with any more transplants. You'll end up hoping for something that'll probably never come. Your donor is far from adequate to offer decent coverage for the level of loss you have. You've connected your happiness to something you have very little control over, which is very common for guys suffering MPB. I'd almost suggest seeing a therapist as part of your treatment plan. If you don't figure out a way to overcome this, it's likely you'll fade into a ball of depression that's simply existing. As far as what to do hair wise. I'd get a tan and hit the gym like suggested above and either get smp or just shave it super close
  5. Best of luck! and cheers to a successful surgery
  6. Another transplant? I understand the question, but don't quite get why you're asking it.
  7. LOL, I wasn't talking about ALL patients of ALL doctors. I was speaking specific of members who've documented work from Gabel
  8. OS- Soon you'll be the poster boy for Gabel =). You are by FAR the most consistent member to document your transformation. Gabels a great Doc!
  9. You'll be fine. Alcohol thins the blood and will cause excess bleeding, but your system should be clear of it within 4 days.
  10. You probably didn't wear your hair so short to expose the crown thinning. I would just stick with propecia since it maintains crown best and try not to worry/look at it too much.
  11. I think you'll be fine. The shaved head, redness and scabbing might make things a bit obvious that you had work done.
  12. You can congratulate yourself, it's not often that I log in to make a reply. 'With respect', I gotta say, that is one of the dumbest things I've read on here in a while. First- you're thinking WAY too far ahead. The idea that his hair magically starts growing almost 2 years post op is complete non-sense. Secondly, assuming they repair him, please explain how he'd be able to differentiate between first and second transplant? Lastly, you really think dutchie cares about that money? Him sitting in limbo after have already given up a year of his life with the anticipation of a new mane is much harder than what some of you recognize. I'm willing to bet he'd pay an additional 17k to have a decent head of hair and to have this whole thing behind him.
  13. Matt has received great results! He looks like one of the older guys that still has it together now
  14. To me, he's looking pretty sparse. He seems to have great characteristics ( coarse curly hair). I think a more aggressive approach would have done him well.
  15. Looks like he's got a nice result. IMO he should go shorter on the sides and use some product to tame/style it.
  16. Question 1: Do you think with a total of 3,350 grafts placed in the frontal third portion of my head, I will be able to achieve above average density? The idea is to create the illusion of density, not surpass or even match it. I certainly hope you're not expecting above average density from any transplant. I think you'll have ome cosmetic improvement, however that's a fairly big area for the number of grafts that have been placed there. Question 2: Does it really look like 2,050 grafts were placed? I mean, I guess I can sit there and count somehow, but for those who are experienced, I'd love to hear your thoughts. IMO, its hard to tell since it blends with your existing hair. I doubt Dr. Meshkin put anything less than what you've paid for. I have a couple questions. What made you choose Dr. Meshkin twice? I have no opinion on him since I never researched him. I'm just curious if he's local to you and that's why you've chosen him. If that is the case, I think it may have been a mistake to not consider other Doctors. I think you would have benefited from a larger number of grafts and I wonder if you'd contacted H&W and they had you doing scalp stretches how much more could have been harvested. Secondly do you have timeline photos? To get the most honest an accurate responses we'd have to to see where you started along with final results of transplant one when things were at their peak. Deff stick with the FIN and happy growing!
  17. KO, your logic is flawed from a realistic point of view. I think you'll agree that 'hair density' is measure by grafts per cm2. By removing that flap of skin and sealing it back up, you're not gonna be losing anything that would be noticeable. As far as these results go. It depends on the patient and treatment plan. The area might look a bit thinned out, but he can still wear it super short without worrying about a strip scar. It really boils down to what the patient wants.
  18. Folliculitis is the result of an infected hair follicle. If you're looking for a yes or no answer, I don't think you're gonna find it. After have gone through major trauma, your scalp is still and will be healing for the foreseeable feature. This might result in it become irritated, inflamed, infected etc. by things that normally wouldnt bother it. Having bumps that looks like pimples or signs of folliculitis isn't uncommon at your stage of growth. In fact, I'd say its quite common. Most of the time it comes and goes like any other pimple. You've gotta gauge the severity and determine what steps are necessary to treat it. If left untreated or not treated properly it can mean serious business ( your body will destroy the follicles trying to fight off the bacteria). That my friend, is the last thing you want. None of this is meant to to be alarming, but I think a lot of us go into hair transplantation somewhat naive on the complexity of the process. My *real* advice ( as in what I would do if I were you ) First contact your HT doctor and explain everything like you have here. He can address this situation better than any of us. As far as Toppik goes. I'd continue using it, but making sure that you clean it off as soon as you can. Doxy will generally clear things up quickly. If in a week things haven't gotten better then deff stop using it and anything else that might irritate your scalp. Lastly, as I said it above, I HIGHLY recommend tea tree oil
  19. I have no expertise when it comes to toppik, but a clean healthy scalp will produce the best possible results. Potentially fumbling the results to spare yourself the embarrassment for a few months seems a bit foolish to me. These results are meant to last the whole rest of your life Look into natural treatment too. Tea tree and coconut oil are great for keeping a clean healthy scalp. Best of luck!
  20. Emma- I only skimmed the thread, so maybe my advice will or will not be helpful. I wouldn't let anyone sway your decision, especially an unhappy patient that received sub-par results. There are WAY too many variables that go into a transplant. He received FUE which is thought to be less reliable than FUT and secondly, you're going to by far one of the best clinics in the world for producing solid hairline work. I would go with Rahal and not Ross if I were you. It's nothing personal against Ross, since I have zero clue about his work, but Rahal has been tried and tested and can knock it out of the ballpark with his eyes closed. Lastly, really really consider this operation. Reversing it, is not possible. So you really need to consider all the pro's and cons. It's apparent you've done some amount of research by booking with Rahal, but even his clinic has produced sub-par results, so that possibility/outcome shouldn't be overlooked. Best of luck
  21. Nice results, though it seems the temples have been lagging? I've outlined in your last three set of pics what I'm talking about and it seems they've consistently been behind the rest. Any ideas/thoughts why? Month 5 Month 7 12 months
  22. he hasnt posted in almost a decade, I have a funny feeling he wont be seeing this message.
