This patient is a 38-year-old gentleman who desired to increase density in the hairline and frontal zone of the scalp. He wanted this to follow his native hairline and not alter his appearance significantly. He does not have a family history of hair loss and is currently on oral and topical medications to maintain his native hair. His desire was very conservative: he wanted to bring down the frontal hairline about 1 cm and increase the density in the frontal area. The hair quality in the donor area was excellent, and he had no intentions of shaving his head in the future. The patient ha

This 33-year-old gentleman had a transplant a few years ago at another clinic to increase the density of his frontal hairline. After the procedure, he felt that the hairline was not straight with the left side higher then the right side. After a thorough consultation, both the patient and I designed his desired hairline that he felt was straight and would balance the left and right sides appropriately. He desired more hair on the left side, but also wanted to augment the entire frontal hairline. We transplanted 1238 grafts into the first couple centimeters with a greater emphasis on the

Does anyone have direct experience with Dr. Troy Fallon, who runs a relatively new hair transplant practice in Tigard, OR? He is on my list of best cost/benefit value so far, but I have no hard info. I see only 5-star Yelp reviews and mistrust giddy testimonials. His practice is so new that full outcomes may not be known. One review claimed he was "hands down the best hair restoration doctor nationwide." Based on how many experiences with other doctors? Have any of his patients been through at least 6 months of waiting for regrowth? I understand even a year could be needed, based on staggered

This patient is a 39-year female who had deep frontotemporal recessions. She had always wanted to be able to wear her hair back in a ponytail, but since she had deep frontotemporal recessions, she covered that area up with hair. We transplanted 2342 grafts into the frontotemporal angles. The photographs show her results at the 6/7-month point which has already been amazing for her. He is wearing her hair back, and looks forward to continued growth.

This patient desired to increase the density of the hair in his beard and mustache. He said he was unable to grow significant hair on the cheek area, the sideburns, the chin region, or the top of the mustache. The lower portion of his beard grew well, but the hair was lacking in the upper aspect of his beard. The overall goal of the transplant was to increase the density and fullness of the facial hair in the regions were hair was lacking. The patient had 1891 follicular unit grafts placed into the beard as shown in the immediate post-operative photographs. For facial hair transplants,

I am presenting this patient who had surgery on September 3, 2014, and will display her results every month on this thread to document the progression of growth in hair restoration surgery. This patient had 3439 grafts placed in the frontal hairline and temples to augment and bring down her hairline. She has graciously volunteered to return each month to my office for the next year so we will be able to present her photographs in real-time. I feel this is instructive for patients inquiring about the progression of hair restoration surgery and how they may look each month.

This patient is a 33-year-old transgender female from Seattle who desired a feminine hairline. Her hair is light brown, medium thickness in caliber, which is excellent for frontal hairline and frontal-temporal recession restoration/transplantation. The reason that her hair is excellent for the transplant is that it is thick enough to give the appearance of nice, natural density, but not too thick which can give an unnatural look in the frontal hairline. In the frontal zone, we strive to put the thinnest hairs in the most anterior aspect of the hairline, and build a gradient to thicker hairs t

She has also enhanced the appearance of her hair by coloring it.

This patient is a 55-year-old gentleman who had 2 transplants with us over a 2-year timespan for a total of 5074 grafts to the frontal and midscalp zones. He is frequently on the forums with the username of Biz. When we met over 2 years ago, we had lengthy discussions about the eventual outcome as his hair is thin and he had extensive hair loss as a NW 6/7. At the initial meeting, I was optimistic he would have a nice result, but I cautioned him that the result would be “thin” based on the amount of scalp that would need to be covered and his hair characteristics. He recently send me

This patient had 2752 grafts placed into the frontal hairline and scalp. He is now approximately 15 months out from his surgery and his hair has grown in very well. Most important to him, it is very natural and he has received numerous compliments from his family and friends who he shared it with. The grafts were placed in a coronal orientation and were dense packed (see close up photo actually documenting the clean, dense packing). I include the preoperative drawings the viewer is able to see the hairline design and the final, natural results. The photos were taken in our Seattle off

This 48-year-old patient of mine had surgery 2 years ago with about 3900 grafts to the frontal hairline and mid-scalp regions. He recently contacted us and sent in a photo of himself on vacation (only 1 after photo at this time). He is extremely excited about the transformation that took place with his hair and appearance, and stated that it really improved his overall confidence. He will be coming in soon for an appointment. I will present the full range of before and after photographs from the office when he follows up, hopefully in the near future.

This patient is a 65-year-old gentleman who in 2005 had 2542 grafts placed into the frontal, mid-scalp/anterior crown region. Between 2005 and 2012, he had some more thinning of the native hairs and we added another 2409 grafts to the frontal and mid-scalp region, but this transplant, we added a good number of grafts into the crown. He is now 1 year out from his second transplant and is extremely happy with the result. In 2005, I did not take the extensive preoperative and postoperative photographs that I now take so there are only a few direct comparisons for photographs. The gray/bl

This patient is a 34-year-old gentleman who desired to thicken the frontal hairline and scalp. He was concerned also about the crown, but we elected to treat this area with medications at this point because of his age and see how well he responds. He had 2548 grafts placed in the frontal hairline and frontal scalp 6 months ago. He stated that his hair started growing about 2 months ago and seen continued improvement each month. Since he is only 6 months out, his hair will continue to grow and thicken over the next 18 months. IMG]http://i1233.photobucket.com/alb

This 56-year-old patient two years ago desired to have his frontal hairline and forelock restored. His goals were very realistic in that he wanted to frame his face, and to have it appear natural. He wanted a hairline that was augmented, but age appropriate. He was also in situations when he had to shave the back of his head, and still is. In discussing the options, I felt he was a perfect candidate for FUE. He understood that FUE is not a scarless procedure despite what is falsely advertised on the internet and TV, or what is read in highly deceptive airline magazine advertisements

This 36-year-old patient desired to have his hair restored in the frontal region of the scalp and the frontotemporal angles. A total of 2210 grafts were placed into the frontal hairline, scalp, and frontotemporal angles. Preoperative and postoperative photographs are presented at only 6 months growth. Close up photographs of the donor area show no evidence of the donor area scar despite the very short haircut. A video is also presented to show the results with a comb being run through his hair.
