  1. Excellent info and this is the type of info that helps a lot of folks. Great video and great explanation.
  2. Definitely share the other video to help see the area better. Shockloss is a major issue esp if it is permanent. I couldnt tell that much from the previous videos. I certainly hope you dont have to go through with such a hassle. Large procedures may have it, but there are fue surgeons who are able to avoid it by certain surgical protocols and extraction patterns. Its frstrating to go through such issues as you want things to be the way as they are marketed and shown.
  3. Looks like its progressing quite well. Saw in the video that you were concerned with some patchiness in donor. It isnt as much noticeable in video , however, ive known cases where someone may have had 1500 grafts extracted or 4000 grafts extracted and the donor area got hammered with all sorts of patchiness. Considering 5000 extractions the area looks alright based on the video. The yield attained and coverage given look good so far based on the video. I think you are progressin well but would love to seeupdates as time progresses. Price Used to be really favorable at that clinic but with more exposure and price rising, it is just like another clinic. Folks try to find the best bang for your buck now to have greater surgical and financial security. This is if there is a physician you paid like 10 a graft for messes up, then he wants you to come back to his chair for unwarranted repeats and no refunds risking your grafts. By paying less, you kind of cut your losses and it isnt a big financial hit if things go awry. In most cases, doctors who offer cheap prices still offer refunds and even are willing to do free repairs. You could end up with a huge financial headache or a minor financial headache, choose the type youd like But no doubt, the result for the price is looking favorable based on the video you posted.
  4. Cool. Thanks for the info, but it doesnt explain much regarding hair restoration experience for that doc. I think the site mentions head and neck surgery though? Hope you find the info you need. Good luck
  5. OP, it would be good to inform the clinic at this stage and the circumstances. I can definitely see the bald thin areas throughout the top. Do you see any stuble there at all or any growth still coming in?
  6. OP, did the area get better or did you go for another repair? How is the recipient zone doing now? Its been sometime since your last post.
  7. Who is Dr Ross? Is he/she an entity recommended physician or a new doc? Ive been to Dr Rahal clinic before but not familiar with that doc. It's actually the first time I heard that name. It may be good to email the clinic and see what surgery this doc specializes in.
  8. Based on the folks ive spoken with, the concerns from restoration prospects are thst technology is not ready as it still trying to be fine tuned. You got punch sizes that may be unappealing and most folks like surgery the old fashioned standard way, and that is with direct professional surgical extraction via experienced docs. I can see this machine being a way to cut corners using techs (where surgery is normally done by a doc) to speed up extractions and surgical output. Most states consider surgery to be done by a doc aka professional. In this case, you are putting the ability of extraction in the hands of techs. Will a doc oversee the procedure? If not, then that can be alarming. For the cost of the machine, then the extraction royalties, it may be unappealing to some docs. You never know when an expensive machine can fail and if a doc has like 2-3 surgeries booked, and something happens to this machine then, you cant have multiple high costly machines as backup. With other motorized/manual punches you can have multiple as the cost is not that crazy. But then again, you cant tell a patient a procedure is suppose to be with this machine and then switch it on operating day due to a possible malfunction. No machine is fool proof, but you are probably safer in surgery with well experienced hands. Some folks also then question, if i am paying higher rate with one doc vs another, andvtgey both use artss, then what different approach am i paying for. The forums project doctors with carious skill sets and this would be the same type of performnce standard as a machine is probably using the same extraction algorythms between all patients. Another thing is varying hair types, some hair types are atill not compatible with this machine as I read. Really light colored hair vs dark hairs, African American or Caucasion etc. so many variables and a lot of headache if this isnt suited for all types. I can understand some folks intrigued by this technology and some even pushing for it hard core, but we have priceless limited grafts, most folks I spoke woth are afraid of the added risks. Maybe one day they can master it, but when you got updates and upgrades going on every so often, itll raise eyebrows. My own opinion is I would never go behind the table with this machine. I got FUE and prefer it, bit if someone even told me the only choice you have is this and FUT, then I would even consider FUT. As far as results go, ive seen a couple actoss gorums and i am not swayed. They dont seem to compare to results posted by experienced FUE surgeons that do extractions manually. I hear it is supposed to also have abikity to creat recipient sites. Again, such artistry is a trait of the surgeon. This surgery is a very damaging if it doesnt go too well, and some folks do not want to take added risks.
  9. Dr Cooley, fantastic repair. Have you done any fue donor shockloss repairs on any patients? Where there seems to be permanent damage by extractions and certain extraction patterns and punch sizes?
  10. You might as well review technician based clinics -- wherever they may be. What is the use of payin premium fees for certain docs over others when techs are expected to do surgical aspects of the surgery, which includes extractions? I think a doctor should be the one doing surgical aspects of surgery. This involves any tissue puncture or extraction.
  11. Is this the same doc that worked on you the one from this place called Vive off of 1501 Superior Ave in Newport Beach, California? That website for Vive states "Dr. Searle, DO is a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery."
  12. Contact the state med board for the office in that state with all information, complaint, email, forum postings in a packet. Also, mail all that info to the FTC. Especially, if you recieve an email of lawsuit when you have been wronged. They take these matters seriously. This is the type of clinics the industry needs to watch out for. I hope that doctor or clinic is not listed on any forum entity based list or hair organization. Do it now asap, do not wait anoyher year or so. The sooner the better and email a couple of business medical malpractice lawyers as well. If you get enough similar patients, it ends up going into a class action format. Contact the plastic and cosmetic surgeons board in the state and also make them aware. Good luck. A lawyer with free consult well let you know.
  13. Well thought and well designed. Great result for the number of grafts used. Impressive.
  14. Sorry to hear about needing repair. The best way is to find a surgeon who deals with more repair cases. Repair in hands that normally do not do repairs could be risky. They could end up depleting your grafts further with limited success. Have you reached out to Dr Bhatti in Chandigarh for an opinion or Dr Umar in California? There are some more docs that can give you an opinion if you send them clear and detail pics.
  15. Dr Charles, Can the ARTAS count the number of previous extractions in a donor area? If this patient returns, will it know where the extractions were? Or if you have a patient with 3000+ fue grafts extracted somewhere else, will this machine know where previous extractions were and the total counts of those previous extractions? Is there a way to find out previous extraction counts prior to another FUE surgery? Thanks.
  16. One-off stand alone transplants could be possible, but only in surgeons that are willing to perform surgery with a surgical protocol focused on patient safety. If a surgeon has your safety in mind, they can carefully perform a procedure that wikk make sure you have better chances of yield/growth. Not many docs follow such guidelines and it is imperative you look for those docs that dedicate their work and the entire surgery day for you. Good luck.
  17. Looks like it can be. Esp if a doc implants 65cm2 in an area you have ample native hairs, thus harming your chances of an acceptable result as discussed due to shocked recipient and native hairs which obviously did not grow or recover. Then to go back to same areas of massive scar tissue to a repair and still not reach your goals. This is when patients specifically initially mention to implant in front if such native areas and not all if that behind the hairline. Thats why good documentation and etc is necessary at all times. So yea in some cases it can be risky and doctors should always do what is safe for patient and understand their concerns.
  18. Envious hair . Looking great as usual Spanker. You got some serious hair. Dr Konior did great work on you and he continues to show it. You have great hair, looks very natural, and not a hint of transplantation. Doing great for 3+ years. Very very natural look. I wish most of us could get such hairline results with the number of grafts used. Outstanding
  19. Pavan, with some docs, it may take 3500 grafts to produce a satisfactory result on you while with some other docs, it may take 5000 grafts. Analyze the surgical protocol of the surgery, including on who will do surgical parts of tge surgery, will the doctor leave the room to work on another patient while technicians work on you, the tools doc would use, there is so many things to evaluate for your safety. Good luck.
  20. depending on the type of work you want, nj or ny docs may assist you with your concerns. If you need those large megasession docs that mostly post mega session results, then west coast or international travel may be something to review too. Its up to you, prices vary with docs but even the low billers can get you where you need to be. Best thing to do is ask docs everything in writing, What will they do? What happens to your deposit if you change dates or cancel? What happens if result is not good? Will you hammer me or will you fix me or will you refund me? If there is more than one person that questions my result on forums, will you fix the situation on my scalp free of charge? What is your guarantee? Will you allow me to see the surgical forms i need to fill prior to me paying you a deposit? What is your surgical protocol? Am i the only patient or will there be more than 1 the day of my surgery? Who will work on me for my surgery? These are just some of the many questions you can ask nj or ny docs to see what they say and if they make you comfortable being their patient.
  21. Yea permanent seems like it can occur. Improper extractions to improper compressed extraction patterns to even types of tools/speeds can cause it. An unskilled person that is not efficient at extracting your particular hair type and caliber can also mess things up. If the extractor doesnt use proper magnification, that can also mess things up. Bunch of things can go wrong in fue and in fut. you really have to evaluate a surgeons surgical protocol and see if you are the patient of the day or just another for the day, amongst many other things. Sometimes you may find that out when you arrive for surgery. Or your scheduled 2 day surgery is requested to be 1 day instead. It can happen. I dont think meds can help much to prevent it. Trust me, i know people who followed things to a T and still got hammered with it and some are worried while some are waiting for repairs.
  22. Essentially, to possibly be in safer hands, go to a doc that does the surgical aspects themselves. This includes donor extractions for FUE. Look for a doc that commits the day to you, not multiple patients. Good luck!
  23. FUT can be barbaric if your wound doesnt heal properly or nerve damage occurs, but in expert hands these occurances may be minimized. FUE can be damaging if a tech with little to no FUE experience extracts grafts and a doc during the procedure advises him to no no you have to do it like this or that. Aside from that, if you are a test bunny that paid lots of money thinking youll be in safe hands, it can be catastrophic. Your yield will be impacted, your donor will get further screwed with more distince halos if the doc has you come back for repair. Then you may be told you may have scarring alopecia and what not, when in fact military docs may clear you for such conditions. You see there are reasons why this game is the way it is and sime folks are about to put a stop to it, after gathering what they need. You need to go to a doc that gives a dang about you and focuses on you as the patient of the day, that extracts your grafts by him or herself and does the actual surgical aspects of surgery. I dont care if they have a fut or two and you are the fue case that same day, only you should be the patient of tge day, only you. You dont need to go to a business entity recommended clinic that has techs do extractions or has your extracted grafts outside your body for long periods of time. You need to go to a clinic that follows medically regulated protocols. Only a handful of docs do the entire work themselves and are capable in doing so. Good luck!
  24. That's quite a change. Really makes you question the question of when a persons level of hairloss considered stable. From mid 30's to mid 50's, tge loss is drastic. Do you think he couldve been wearing a wig even in his 30s or this is pure loss?
