  1. He doesn't take a payment plan. The patients have the option to finance it externally.
  2. I'll reiterate. No system is undetectable, but a good system is not detected. That means, if I you are talking to someone who wears it has had a hair transplant, he will likely spot it, because we look for it. But if you are talking to someone at the grocery store, they would have no idea. The type of base you get has nothing to do with density and I'll say that one of the biggest give aways regarding hair systems is too much density, so I would be careful about that as well. Imo, it is better to make an error on not dense enough than too dense.
  3. I think a lot of people say super fine swiss lace is less detectable than the loops in skin. I would say that no hair system is undetectable, but a good is not detected. There is a difference. I can spot a very good system.
  4. No clinic should be working on you. I agree with the initial clinic. If you are losing hair, get on finasteride and that can stabilize for many years, allowing you to get some age before you have or need surgery.
  5. Did the clinic say you were losing any hair? Did they recommend finasteride?
  6. Well, if it makes you feel any better, you're almost 4 months, not 5.
  7. That's definitely not a record. I've seen 10k grafts. Hope to see follow up with the outcome.
  8. Clinics are lucky enough to get a patient to come back in for pics at call. The guy wore a buzz cut preop. Do you think he is gonna shave his head after paying $20k for a transplant so someone on the internet is more impressed? Looks like a successful case.
  9. Dr. Konoir's associate, Dr. Nadimi can see you fairly soon and might be a good option to get you a consult. Konior is booking cases a year out and is 3 months out for consults. Dr. Nadimi doesn't charge for consults. I think SMG would be a great choice too.
  10. If you like to wear your hair that short, FUE. That is quite an unusually hair loss pattern, but I think you could make a big difference by transplanting behind your hairline with relatively few grafts since you aren't recreating it.
  11. With your location, Dr Ron Shapiro in Minneapolis or Dr Konior in Chicago would be where I would go for a consult. Both are reputable and will give you honest feedback on whether or not transplantation will be effective for you. I've seen Konior do great work on females and I've seen him turn them away because they were not good candidates and he would just be taking their money but not providing value. Make sure you go to a very trusted physicians. There are really no bargains if you are going to do a HT. Your face is not something you want to skimp on. That said, I see your concerns but it doesn't look bad to the casual observer. I would probably advise against any tight pony tails to prevent any traction loss. Good luck to you.
  12. I want going to click on this link but I saw Voxman commented so I indulged. Medical treatment is best if you are go I'll to treat it.
  13. I think PRP with Acell using the Angel system may have benefits for the right patient with the right right doc. It doesn't replace finasteride at all though. Check out Dr Cooleys PRP results. Actually, I think your hair loss type and pattern (diffuse) probably benefits the most from PRP.
  14. Yeah, you were a late bloomer for hair loss if you had a full head 10 years ago. I'm 39. I'd probably be somewhere around where you are without it so I'm hoping it mostly carries me through my 40s. I have seen guys that were early nw3s that stayed that way through their 60s. Late hairloss that goes advanced is less likely than early, but it happens. Remember TV evangelist Jim Bakker? Google that dude now. Crazy.
  15. Hey Matty, I'm saying that if you realize the areas that you and were thinning, and that these areas will get worse without medical intervention, then you made an informed decision, based on the risk vs reward that is acceptable to you in terms of sides. I can say that lot of changes happen as we age in addition to hairloss, and a lot of people are quick to point to fin as the cause. Unlike yours though, a lot of it is age related (no morning wood, weight gain, etc), all things that happen to people every day off of fin. For me, a decade with as much hair as I started on, and maybe even 15 years was worth the trade off. I believe that some people just can't tolerate it, but for me, it would have to be something that I absolutely couldn't tolerate for me to discontinue. I know some guys try like a .25mg and up it slowly and that worked for them too. For someone who did respond so well, it would be hard for me not to try something. You will never get back as much hair as you will by starting today, the longer your off the less you will get back. You responded better than most. A lot don't grow much back, they just maintain. It sounds like you understand where you're at and the risks. Overall, I think you'll be happy in 9 months, but the front will look good enough you'll wish you had more behind it, which I believe fin will do for you.
  16. I'm glad to hear you are starting to bounce back. I do not think fin is required for a successful procedure, but I do think for many people it can be the difference in short term gains and long term success. Considering that you responded well to fin as far as your hair goes, you could be above your base line while on it for a decade or more. Without it, you will only go below base line. If you are understand that, then i think you're making an informed decision. The other part is that you actually are patterned for advanced hairloss. When I say "patterend", I mean, you have hair there, but you have miniaturization. That really is not a debatable point. You've been lucky up to now, but without some medical intervention your natural pattern showing right now will continue to thin. I know it isn't good news, but I see people all the time that are unaware or in denial of their state. I would put you as patterned as a 3V headed to NW4 with your crown a little more open. You seem like a diffused thinner so maybe that made you a little more susceptible to the shock you had. You have an awesome doctor, and I am sure that your transplant is going to turn out well, I just want you to consider maintaining the result your going to get. Anyway, I wont bother you any more about fin and good luck. Please keep us posted.
  17. Hey Matty, Hope things are starting to progress. It can takes about 6 months to recover from shock. Are you on fin? I remember you were apprehensive about it and started and said you may cycle on and off of it? Did you do that? Also, in rare occasions, you can shock out hair that was on it's way out and it doesn't bounce fully back. Looking at your pics, you did have thinning hair before the procedure throughout. I would strongly suggest getting on finasteride daily without cycling and sticking with it. I believe if you grow your hair out and comb it by month 6 or 7 you'll have bounced back more and your transplant will start showing you the direction its heading for month 12, but you won't get more hair that you already had in areas that weren't transplanted. Its early days. Seriously consider a steady fin regiment though because I do think you are patterned for advanced loss without it. Good luck!
  18. Yeah, PRP will give a temp result to your overall result. I don't think you will see any long term benefits. I've seen a result from Cooley where the guy was above baseline at 5 years. My concern is the price. I really believe the Angel system right now is the only way to do PRP and I think the disposables cost about that much or more, so I would really research what method they are using. How much have you lost? And who are you going with?
