  1. Looking great, love to see more pics. 1700 grafts went a long way.
  2. I think you made all of the right decisions. Placement is right, great yield, 2000 grafts went a super long way on you.
  3. I chose my surgeon through looking at thousands of photos over a few years. I would suggest you do research by looking at photos and reading posts about the docs.
  4. I'm from west Tennessee and I drove to Chicago after a lot of research. Don't let distance choose your doc for you.
  5. Depends how many grafts, if you ice right, etc. I saw one of the forum members in person and he was extremely diligent in icing and massaging the swelling away from his face. I was very minor. I've seen guys not follow instructions and look like they fought Tyson.
  6. Shock loss is possible. It's possible with any treatment though, including fin and minox. Problem is, without treatment, it will only get worse, and at a fairly fast pace. Fin tends to buy you many years and the jury is still out on PRP efficacy with maintenance treatments.
  7. Finasteride is probably the cheapest and definitely most affective treatment by far IMO. It also sounds like you're diffuse thinning on too, so PRP is a good addition too. This isn't cheap, but I think it's showing promise. I think the new Big 3 is finasteride, PRP with ACELL, and Minox.
  8. No, it's not advisable. You have so much invested, why not take it easy, low stress, keep it clean and damp, ect. It's much harder to do that on a plane for 20 hours.
  9. Depending in your donor, it can be difficult. But most people have some lower caliber hair. For instance, when my transplant was done, they were broken into 3s, 2s, 1s, and F1s. F1s are fine ones. They are used in the front to soften the hairline. This is an attention to detail that top docs use. So, if you have multi follicular units in your hairline, I'm pretty certain they didn't go to the trouble soften it.
  10. Those are bad pics and nobody can say worth any accuracy using those.
  11. Looking good. How many hairs do you have left that in front of your hairline? This is a very interesting case. I am looking forward to seeing what the healing looks like at year.
  12. I think 10 days post op and being careful is OK as long as the scabs are gone. Some of the docs want to be cautious.
  13. Dr. Wesley is in NY and seems to be having some success. To answer your question though, yes, there is a big difference. The Angel System is the gold standard right now and that is not cheap to use, so it is more expensive. Dr. Cooley stays that multiple procedures are not needed to get a good result, when done right, so sometimes the more expensive ones could cost less overall depending on the treatment plans.
  14. nah, bro. I don't think it is MPB in the crown, but you probably have some degree of Mpb in your genes if you are getting a transplant. That said, you won't be getting any cosmetic improvement to transplant that, even if it is, so you should stay away from that.
  15. With 2400, you are not likely to get much crown density. I've never heard of this doc before. That doesn't mean he isn't good, but I'm pretty active, and I'd never get a transplant from someone that I hadn't heard of. Where did he train? Who did he train with? There are a lot of docs that do small procedures on high ME levels like you. I don't think that means that they are trying to get extra money. They should do the transplant so that you looked normal if you decided to not have another. Also, you should really expect to have 2 procedures, especially if you are going for only 2400. Really, I think all of the 2400 sshould go in the frontal third and go for the crown if you decide to get a second procedure.
