  1. Experienced does not necessarily mean skilled. I wonder how many of those 9,000 transplants resulted in satisfied customers.
  2. No kidding, they are like exactly one inch apart from each other. Let's hope they are one haired grafts.
  3. It looks like you're a diffuse thinner on top. Do you have any shots of your donor area? A look at your donor area can help us determine if you are a good HT candidate or not. Definitely look into Dr. Rassman and while you are at it ask him about Scalp Micro-Pigmentation along with FUE. But there are many great FUE docs out there like Feller, Shapiro, Bisanga, etc. Look into them as well.
  4. Good comparison pics there Hairthere. Yes, there is some definite improvement. Maybe not what you imagined or hoped for at this point, but there is an improvement for sure. Hang tough.
  5. Well, if you just want hairline work then add Shapiro Medical Group to your great list as well. All the best to you!
  6. JPGR5, I'd have to agree with Dr. Bernstein. I think you are pretty much a NW7. Not only do you need to cover the top/frontal third but you'd have to recreate the lateral humps as well. But like Hairthere said, any NW7 should consult with H&W. If anyone can turn someone in your situation around it would be them. But I think it's a stretch given your level of loss and your donor doesn't look the most dense either. I'd shave down and get a tan... it'd be quite liberating.
  7. 1) You got a good crown. Get on Fin and save it! 2) Stay on Fin at least two years before getting any work done. 3) It looks as if there is thinning hair by your ears and temple region. Get this area checked too for retrograde alopecia.
  8. It's impossible to tell how thin your hair is when it's shaved that low. Either way, your hair looks pretty good that way. Sure you might want a better hairline but just enjoy what you have for a few more years before getting a HT. Besides, a little more time will give you a better idea of where your hair loss is progressing. And I'm sure H&W will still be around!
  9. I'm sure you're right Shadow, and there are probably a lot of good examples of that... like when I pop a zit and look far worse than if I would have just left it as is... But I just don't think Hairtoday looks worse off right now than he did before the procedure. It's not a home run miracle.. but it's a step in the right direction if you ask me. Give him a few months. I think there's some hope in this case.
  10. "So, what I'm asking the members here is this; if you see a patient with advanced hair loss what type of hair style do you expect them to be able to have once their results have grown in and matured?" Before I had transplants I naively thought that a patient could style his hair any way he liked after his results grew out. While this might be true in some cases, I don't think it holds true universally. The layering effect (combed down and/or to the side) most definitely gives the best appearance of density. Some may call it a "comb over", I wouldn't. The best hairstyle for me is the spiked up look, or some call it a faux-hawk. But it is not the best for dealing with harsh lighting or direct sun light. This is because with the hair straight up the light still has a direct pathway to the scalp. I know with the layering effect and the hair combed down, the hair would be more adept in blocking the light's path to the scalp therefore reducing see through hair. It probably also doesn't help that my hair is thinner in texture. Someone with thicker follicles would probably have more styling options.
  11. Yeah Spanker, I've had the exact same thing happen to me. I noticed this older gentleman who lives around me. I saw him a few months ago and saw a darkened scar in the back. I was going to ask him about it and who did the work for him but I chickened out. I saw him walking today and I couldn't see the scar anymore. He had a good frontal third but a slick bald crown. To me that is a dead give away that it's a transplant, regardless whether the scar is evident or not. But his transplanted hair looked pretty good.
  12. Simply beautiful work! Perfectly placed hairline for his age.
  13. Fantastic work. He layers his hair quite well. It's a good look for him. Well done.
  14. Count your lucky starts. You still have a good head of hair. Just get back on Finasteride. You have a lot of hair right now to save.
  15. I used dermmatch to cover the scar for about 3-4 months until my hair grew out. Here's a thread in which I posted pictures of the donor region with dermmatch. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/136508-concealer-donor-w-pics.html
  16. If you are a candidate for a transplant, look into that before a wig. Though some high level NW 7's are just better off with a piece. The hair lines are always a bit suspect, so do a combed forward look if you get one. I know there was one really popular hair piece company called Farrell or something.
  17. I once accidentally pulled out a 3-hair graft. I thought it was a scab. I was doing something stupid - rubbing it or picking it - and it came out. It was about 5 days post op. I cried a few tears and haven't picked any scabs since. You can definitely tell when you've pulled out a graft.... sigh. Lesson learned.
  18. Yes, the most important thing in all of this is that UncleJesse is happy with his hair. And looking at his most recent post-op pics he certainly should be.
  19. HairToday, I'd have to say I'm impressed with your progress. Comparing your pre-op's to your 7 month pics shows much improvement! It looks much less conspicuous now than a couple months ago. I think the current length suits you well. Keep growing dude! p.s. I'd still be looking into SMP if I were you (especially for the crown).
  20. Wow, those were some nasty scars ej. Really interested to see how this case turns out. All the best and grow well!
  21. Amazing result and very natural. The hairline seems a little low but it appears that UncleJesse's hair loss has stabilized. Just curious UncleJesse, are you on Finasteride? Great work Dr. Feller.
  22. Don't know anything about the particular doctor. BUT I know nuhart has a lot of unhappy customers. Do a search for nuhart on these forums and you'll know what I'm talking about. I'd cancel the procedure IMMEDIATELY! And then consult with some top docs in your area... maybe Farjo.
