WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO DO RESEARCH BEFORE CONSIDERING A HAIR TRANSPLANT.

Hopefully my experience will help someone else from making the mistake I made. 7 months ago i was completely bald. I had been shaving my head for almost 7 years. I was a happy bald man with who enjoyed countless hours at the gym, went out consistently with friends every week and enjoyed traveling alot. All that has now changed. Yes i did wear my hat alot but at least i could take it off. I was bald and it bothered me sometimes because I didnt have the perfect shaped head and felt alot older tha

Moncler Down Vests Women

He turned towards the Rue Vivienne to find Derville, his solicitor, and institute proceedings at once, in case the lawyer should see any chance of annulling the agreement. He found Derville sitting by the fire, wrapped in a white woollen dressing-gown, calm and composed in manner, like all lawyers long used to receiving terrible confidences. Birotteau noticed for the first time in his life this necessary coldness, which struck a chill to the soul of a man grasped by the fever of imperilled inter

Miami surgeon reviews

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone is familiar with the Strax Rejuvenation Center and Dr. Paul Riley located in the miami-fort lauderdale area, they are advertising some really reasonable pricing for grafts, so I was curious if any one is familiar with Dr. Riley

Last night, I had a nightmare about Minoxidil.

I had an awful dream last night about Minoxidil. I was applying it in the dream, and when I went to wash my hands after the application, I noticed that my palm had an entire layer of fur growing on it! I was freaking out! I've had some crazy dreams and nightmares before, but I never though I'd have a nightmare about Minoxidil...

I've been using Minoxidil 5% for 6.5 Weeks

I've been using Minoxidl 5% for 6.5 weeks now and am seeing some results so far. Originally, I had peach fuzz form along my receding hairline, and now the hairs are becoming a little longer. All the pics and progess I have so far is recorded here at (promotional link removed by administrator - feel free to present your photos and experience on this community), but I am going to start updating here as well from now on. At the 8 week mark, I will post before and after pictures from week 2 and w

Now that hair loss is no longer an issue for me...

As my username and blog title suggest, I have had the FUT hair replacement procedure. The result, is that hair loss is no longer a concern of mine. I read this site morning, noon and night some days. I asked questions, I followed the progression of individuals right from post op to months into the future. I decided upon doctors then changed my mind, many times. Nearly two weeks ago I had a very fortunate day with Dr Rahal. I had modest expectations of 5,000 grafts going into the operation but

1 month post op

This is my 1 month update. I shaved my head for 2 reasons. Reason number 1 i is that it makes the lenght of my hair the same all over my head. Reason number 2 i wanted to see how the scar really looks like. Its easy to have an undetectable scar when you have long hair. I think that my scar looks very good at only one month mark. I cant wait to see it again at the 12 month mark. I have a spot where im bald right in the middle of my back. It is caused by an accident as a child. Its not bec

I found the “HAIR LOSS” Fountain of Youth!

I have looked under the bed, I have checked my pockets, I have searched high and low and my hair was nowhere to be found. You see, for the past 23 years I have been losing my hair and have done everything short of sending out an Amber Alert for it! However, every generation or so, some amazing new product is discovered that revolutionizes our lifestyle and improves our way of life. My friends, I am extremely excited to share with you the “Hair Loss” Fountain of Youth… I give you MinoxiBoost! Let

Deciding on a Doctor?

I had my first procedure done in late 2007 with Dr. Wentland. My recollection is that is was more about how much I could spend than what I really needed to be happy with the results. I spent $2800 on the front hair section only. I had the option to have crown work done for a extra $700. I declined. As of today, I am sure I have more hair in the front than if I had done nothing. The hair, however is much less dense that what I believe is considered "normal" for a procedure. I am ready to do an

I need some help.

Hello everyone, I have spent hours reading posts on this site in the last 3 days. I am very impressed with the site and the fact that there are decent members who are taking the time to share their experience and provide help to other members. About 4 years ago, I noticed that I am losing hair (I took pics for my hair 4 years ago, available under my profile). I think stress might have accelerated the process. I started taking Propecia and Rogaine on and off for the last 14 months. It seems l

12 month post HT

Hi Guys, Well it has been 12 months since my surgery with Doctor Kulukarn at DHT Clinic in Bangkok, Thailand (August 2010). I've experienced a good result and look significantly younger than I did a year ago. I was basically a Norwood VI with significant hairloss prior to my surgery. Here are details of my operation from the clinic: The total area of baldness is 133 cm2 and we get involved in the front 110 cm2 [leave the crown untouch]. The density is gradually spread at the hal

A degree of closure

I'm pleased to say that I have reached an agreement with Transmed which I am happy with. I won't go into the exact details but I think it reflects the outcome of the HT. I should say that Transmed have been very professional throughout this, and I feel sad that my experience with them was not all I'd hoped for. This brings to a close my blog of my HT with Transmed. Obviously I have not had the outcome I wanted, and I've lost a lot of donor hair. My quest now begins to find another su

A rant!

Some folk suit being bald. They really do and they look both stylish and distinctive. Some people choose to be bald by shaving their head right down to the scalp and all power to them. To have the choice must be wonderful. I however absolutely know that I would not suit being bald or losing my hair. It really is amazing how much of your personality and character lives on the top of your head and how it can change the way you look by framing your face. I look at balding actors on the TV and

New Hair Transplant Recipient

I am new to this board and this will the first time I share my story about my hair loss. I am a 46 year old male and have been losing my hair since about the age of 22. I was "lucky" enough to have my hair loss happen slowly, I was able to cover it up for the most part, well at least it look covered enough to me. About 1 year ago I started noticing that despite my best efforts I could no longer cover it up. My hair loss was getting worse and quickly. It started showing more and more. Now,

Thymuskin

Has anyone ever heard of a product called Thymuskin? A woman I work with swears that it works and unlike Rogaine, it's a product that doesn't have to me use for for life. I have been to there website, but after years of trying lotions, potions, and shampoos that promise the world I am skeptical.

My 5604 grafts H.T. with Dr. Rahal (day 18 update)

My 5604 grafts HT with Dr. Rahal (day 18 update) I am now 18 days post-op from my hair transplant surgery with Dr. Rahal and I thought I would offer you all an update on my progress. For those who have read my previous post, you are already aware that I was extremely pleased with every aspect of the surgery. I am also happy to report that for the two weeks following the surgery (I remained in Ottawa for this period of time), Dr. Rahal and his team offered me an incredibly high level of post-op

The Continuing story (1 week into 3rd month of Propecia))

I'm reading a lot about other people Propecia stories, particularly if anyone has had regrowth in the temple region because, obviously that's where my problem is. The overwhelming opinion is that it's rare to see any regrowth at all and it is simply a stabalizer for teh loss. I find that interesting becasue I am still finding new tufts of regrowth almost every time I look in the mirror. As I've mentioned before it's not thick and it's quite sporadic but it's starting to become noticable now. I

Shaven haven

Hi, I am around the Norwood II stage and I am probably going to shave my head for a while, the whole lot! It's quite a step to do something like this but I am prepared to give it a go. I think it wil help me come to terms with hair loss easier. My question is, does continual shaving of the head (to the scalp, non graded) have any adverse effect of the hair regrowing, does it impede it in any way? I think I will start using that Rogaine foam, if it's any good. Comments welcome.

13.5 months on, photos from Transmed

Transmed has sent me some 'before' and 'after' comparison photos, which I've posted below. The before photos were taken in June 2010, just before the HT, the after photos were taken last week, on my follow up visit to the clinic.   Firstly, I should say that they present a more positive picture, and actually I feel a bit better for seeing them. But - I don't think they tell the full story because: 1. My head is tilting forward further in the after pictures. 2. My hair is longer in

My Surgical Experience

My Surgical Experience Monday, July 11th 2011, After having a good breakfast and shower (it was to be my last real shower for a while), I headed to Dr Rahal’s office. It really is a mere 5 minute walk from the Foxbar Guesthouse. I arrived at the office at 6:30am as this was the time I was asked to arrive. Upon entering the facility, I was immediately greeted by Mike, Dr Rahal’s Head Nurse. He is an extremely compassionate, friendly and understanding fellow who has an incredible
