  1. rogaine causes me to shed and ive been on it for 6 months when im off it a few days i shed less its weird....
  2. well said stanbyme........ i applaud craig for sticking to his guns and shame on charlie who probably is working for some hair transplant clinic... if i had a chance to take my transplant back i would too and rock a piece. I wasnt a good candidate to begin with..
  3. increased sex drive... you would be the first case in propecia history lol thanks everyone for your advice I appreciate it...
  4. Thats how my hairloss started at the crown so keep an eye on it... take pictures and compare it every 6 months
  5. dosn't look like he touched the crown up with dense placement of grafts so im thinking a third procedure would definately do the trick.... by the way do you use propecia?
  6. cant wait to see results from second surgery.... the good thing about this patient is that his skin is dark and gives a better illusion of coverage.. if he were lighter in skin texture he would be a lot more bald then he looks but great job ...
  7. Hound dog.... How long have you been on finasteride? Have you had any negative side effects?
  8. Revising the old scar is out of the question it makes no sense to cut a already widened scar that will ultimately lead to a risk of further damage... And even a wider scar.. Are there any patients on this site who have shaved back to bald and reduced the appearance of their scar by using some form of fraxel laser and smp combined to create an almost normal looking scalp
  9. I had an hair transplant 6 months ago and I'm disappointed because I chose a doctor who didn't explain the limitations and future procedures and basically left me a 7mm scar about 6 inches long. I had 2 small pits that looks like a linear depression in the skin one is not noticeable and small and the other is noticeable to where you can feel the dent in the skin... I can't take propecia because the side effects are nasty and I cant tolerate it and I eventually just wanna go back to bald. I heard of scalp micronpigmentation tom conceal scars and the results are quite impressive in some cases.... I would like to know if there is any members on here that have used some kinda treatment to reduce the linear scar and fix the pitting and how succesful was their treatment... Are there any doctors that are recommended that can reverse the damage done to some extent without having to cut my head back open and are there any patients on this forum that have had scalp micro pigmentation? I would like some advice if possible? Thank you...
  10. Im sorry to hear that ....its experiences like this that should stray people away from hair transplants. Try finding another doctor to get a second opinion because its sad to say once you have paid up some doctors will show no concern..Good luck on your journey
  11. How many people are satisfied with their hair transplant? Do you regret your decision and wish you never would have taken this step? Just curious to here some responses.
  12. You guys make some valid points. I too had a hair transplant with the impression that i would use propecia in combination to reverse my hair loss. After the surgery I had some very bad reactions to propecia. I experienced every side effect listed on the label. That drug gave me low libido, erectile dysfunction, lethargy , muscle spasms. Insomnia, brain fog, decreased muscle mass. male gynecosmastia (male breasts) and i had bouts of suicidal depression. One week off the drug my attitude completely changed and i felt so much better. Now im playing russian roulette as Im destined to be a norwood 6 and completely freaking out about my situation. I was a bald man for years and can only now dream off going back to a shiny bald dome if I knew having a transplant would be such an emotional roller coaster. On top of that my doctor was a whack job and never informed me about the limitations and led me to believe i can achieve a head full of hair. It's my fault of course for not doing my research and making a decision based on my insecurity at the time. I now have to live with my decision and look far worse now than I was bald.Im completely embarrassed and more isolated than ever. My worse fear is being that hair transplant guy with 8 scars on his head mangled and now sporting a bald mangled look. I guess I can wait it our for the mean time wait for the scar to heal up then make a more educated decision on my next step. Another lesson learned in life.
  13. With all due respect.I have done my own research into this subject and interviewed several well known Doctors about the use of acell to treat scars and transplant grafts soaked in Acell. The majority of Hair transplant doctors had nothing positive to say about this method of treatment. Most were not convinced and even one doctor who is well known told me it actually made a scar worse when used on one half of the donor incision. I took into consideration when Dr Hitzig mentioned that doctors need to use the right combination of acell soaked in a proper dosage of saline solution to ensure a positive outcome. Bottom line is it is too early to make a conclusive statement that acell works to benefit scar healing as well as hair multiplication. The reason for hair growth in recipient sites can be due to a number of other factors that can include the use of propecia along with rogaine and the fact that needles are inserted to create recipient sites that can increase temporary blood flow and cause some minor hair growth.Further testing needs to be done on a more consistent basis to make a positive conclusion.I am not a doctor and my advice is based on my own opinions.
  14. Hopefully my experience will help someone else from making the mistake I made. 7 months ago i was completely bald. I had been shaving my head for almost 7 years. I was a happy bald man with who enjoyed countless hours at the gym, went out consistently with friends every week and enjoyed traveling alot. All that has now changed. Yes i did wear my hat alot but at least i could take it off. I was bald and it bothered me sometimes because I didnt have the perfect shaped head and felt alot older than I was. Im now 31 and can only wish to shave my head again. It was march of 2011 when i turned 31 when i started to feel the effect of depression. I had an argument with a girl I once loved who is mentally sick in the head. She told me out of anger one day thats why your bald and ugly and that when it hit me hard. I always felt insecure but being told by a person you loved and had a child with was very damaging to the soul. I made a decision right there I would change all that. I saw a bosley commercial and it said speciffically "You don't have to be bald if you don't want to". and i thought "wow"Finally a way out of my insecurity. I immediately went on the internet and searched hair transplant and clicked on the first few pages without a thought. In two weeks I would consult with a few doctors who had no interest in my well being and all suggested surgery. At the time I didn't know about hair systems, concealers, or the other options i had. I knew about rogaine and propecia and thought I would give propecia a try. I asked the doctors at the consult if i can try it but they all suggested they would prescribe it after surgery. Little did I know they were setting me up for a lifetime of pain. I didn't know too much about the procedure but a doctor told me they would cut a strip from the back of my head and place grafts in my bald and thinning areas and that hair would last for a lifetime. I even asked the doctor about the scarring and he downplayed it like "what scar" he specifically said dont worry about that it will hardly be noticeable and your barber wont be able to detect it. I thought it was amazing how far technology has come. I put a deposit down and scheduled surgery for the following week excited about the possibilty of a head full of hair. The doctor failed to inform me the limitations of surgery and that ill be never able to get a full head of hair and didn't take any consideration about my further hair loss and recommended 1200 grafts to fill my bald crown. The day of surgery the doctor hacked away at my scalp cursed a few times out of fustration when trying to get the strip of donor hair out my scalp and placed 1200 grafts in a 75-80 sq cm of a bald vertex which provided no cosmetic difference in appearance. Almost 5 months later I have poor growth with hair growing out at different angles and a huge scar thats still hasnt healed thanks to the poor closure from the doctor. The last 5 months i have taken the time to educate myself about hair restoration , the different procedures involved and the different options I should have exhausted before considering surgery. I extremely regret my decision but now have to deal with the mess I got into. Thats why its important for men and women who are considering hair restoration to research the best doctors. talk to actual patients of the doctors and check their crudentials to make sure you are in the right hands. Getting a hair transplant is an important decision that should not be taking lightly. If you have any questions feel free to message me for support. I am passionate about helping men and women making the right decision when it comes to restoring their hair.
