Greed!

Well I have just come back from my consultation with the Vinci hair clinic, and I must say I am disappointed. My appointment was at 2pm and I met my consultant (a nice gentleman who has had many experiences of hair transplants since the 70's) and the first thing I realised that it was not a Surgery I was in, but a hired confrence room in an office building. I then found out that the clinic actually had no surgerys in Glasgow at all and the main ones that I would need to travel to for the proce

Over 1 Month

1 month Mark: So it was my intent to document my hair restoration but unfortunately I have been to busy to do so. If anyone is intrested I sugest reading Megatron's blog as he documented his experiance. We hade the same doctor and almost the same number of drafts. I would say his blog's reflect well what I am experiancing up to date but without the complication's of infection's. I am experiancing a bit of acne on the head but nothing to bad.

Which FUE surgeon in South Africa. ?

Good day. I would like to know if anyone can reccomend a HT surgeon in South Africa. There is not a single remark or listing for HAIROPTIONS.co.za (Johannesburg-Sandton) on this site, and a single negative remark for Medhair in Capetown only. Anyone with a positive experience / surgery in SA ? Best regards

Post HT with Dr Humayun Mohmand

I went for 3 consultations altogether, and all advised strip was the better option as would give more yield/number of grafts, this and the cost factor which was approximately x 2.5 more for FUE, has lead me to the strip technique. I guess only time will tell if this was the right choice, and if HT was worth it. Very friendly and supportive staff at the clinic especially Shahid, who is part of Dr Humayuns HT support staff. At my initial consultation with Shahid I was told only the central por

HT ? No. of grafts (approx.) ?

First of all, I would like to express my gratitude towards the people contributing to/carrying forward this forum. I have learned a lot courtesy of this forum.   I have been losing hair for almost 5 years now. Hair loss areas - 1) Hair loss in Front and temples. Hairline has receded making the forehead region wide and pronounced. Expectation is to frame the face with a hairline in such a way that the forehead looks less wide and big. 2) Hair loss in the Crown region extending upward

Going to Belgium in Late march

Hi, after silently monitoring these forums for a good while, I have opted to take the plunge and am off to Belgium at the end of March to the Feriduni clinic. I must say the staff there have been very good with communication especially Daphne. I had an online consultation with Dr Feriduni and am having an initial 3000 FUE on hairline and vertex. I will almost certainly return for the crown and thickening of the same order within six months.   I opted for Fue as I have gotten used to wearin

Shampoos to use for Oily thin hair

Ok, I have recently had a hair transplant done and it's now been 8 weeks. I had 1600 grafts implanted at the temple area and vertex area (500 grafts at vertex). NowI have lost most of the implant hairs (see pictures attached) but have been told this is a part of the process. Im trying not to worry but I guess being a human you will naturally! In the mean time I wanted to ask that I have very oily skin and have been washing my hair daily with a small amount of the yellow baby shampoo. It con

Day 5-9

Day 6- Monday and I’m back to work. I wore a winter toque to work so no one noticed my hair. I hade one friend comment on the slight swelling around my right eye. I just said I was not feeling well. Donor area still has stitches and one area is still tender to the touch and assuming it’s like this because of the stitches still in place. I continue to follow the postoperative hair care guide given to me after the surgery.

UK Surgeons- Advice please?

Hi, I am 26 years old and new to this.. My hair has became really thin - There are definately bald patches and I have tried pills, lotions and foams that have not worked and no feel that a hair transplant is my only option.. Losing my hair has made me lose confidence esp losing it at a young age of only 21 and doesn't help when constant comments are being made about my bald patches.. I have been researching on the net regarding different UK hair surgeons but because they are so many, I'm not s

Day2-4

Day 2-4 (Thurs-Sat) No pain at all in the recipient area but certain parts of donor area still feels tender. No pain tablets have been taken but swelling continues in the face. Woke up Friday (Day 3) with my right eye almost swollen shut. I got scared at first but it was to be expected. I have been using ice packs, which helps temporarily. I still feel like a tugging sensation once and a while where the stitches are but the area feels much better after I take a shower and run the area un

Day of HT

My donor Density turned out to be better than expected so I got 3701 grafts which is a lot more than expexted and even hoped for. Strip was 27x1.7cm 541 1 grafts 1977 2 gfrafts 970 3 grafts 213 4 grafts I lowerd the hairline 1cm and covered the front, planning on a second HT for the crown area. I am very very happy with the development so far (written at +1mnth)! My hairs are fine, so even with the reasonably high number of grafts I'm realisitc and don't expect a wow kinda densi

HT2, two weeks after

A few more pics. I've started using the photo gallery so hopefully the pics are a bit cleaner. Two weeks after the HT now, most of the scabs gone. Scalp a little pink. All pretty normal. My scalp feels a little sore at the top of my head - no grafts put there - which I'm putting down to scalp tightness.

Day 1

Day 1: Woke up and felt pressure on the forehead and sutured area. Figured it was caused by the expected swelling so I removed the dressing and within 20 minutes I felt much better. I took percocet as a precautionary measure but I probably did not need it. Donor area felt a bit uncomfortable but after I washed the donor area as prescribed the area felt much better. For the day the Donor area felt ok with a little bit of throbbing here and there. Used an icepack to reduce swelling on the forehe

First night

Surgery day: We want over the HT plan again and took final pictures before surgery. I was very nervous so Dr. Cam Simmons gave me a few pills and an injection to calm me down. I fainted when I received the needle but that’s pretty standard with me:). The strip was harvested and the recipient area was frozen. It was my first procedure so overall I was very nervous but after the area was frozen I felt comfortable. I would rather go to the dentist but the experience is kind of similar. By the

My Hair Transplant Journey with Dr Humayun Mohmand

Hello Guys (and Gals ) , I've been looking into having a hair transplant for the last 6 months, It started with a visit to a clinic near my home town of Manchester, where I had my first consultation. The choice of strip technique was put forward as the most cost effective and of greater yield i.e. more grafts would be extractable with the strip technique. I went away convinced I did not want a linear scar as I mostly keep my hair short and this would obviously not be ideal. I continued my

HT2, Day 8, stitches out

Some progress photos eight days after surgery with Dr Lindsey. The stitches were removed today, and it was very painful - probably moreso than anything experienced during the actual op! I think the pain was partly down to scabbing around the stitches, although I did try to clean as much off as possible when I washed my hair. However, the nurses (it took two of them!) said the scar was healing beautifully. But it was considerably sorer than when I had the staples removed after my first op. In
