Day 312 - 10 months on

Well, a week over 10 months on. Still poor density in the HT areas. The front hair line on the left side, where I saw the fastest regrowth early on, now looks thinner if anything. I suppose this may mean that native hair has fallen out, but I would still have hoped for better density from the transplanted hair at this stage. Front Front close Top Vertex Left Right

5 weeks after

Well its 5 weeks after my HT by Dr Farjo and his team in manchester and all is good. Strange how things happened, I had just short of 3000 grafts and for the days after I was so careful in case they fell out! I washed scalp as per instructions but actually probably too careful. Then on day 10, probably due to my increased confidence and the feeling returning to my scalp I washed a little better and my scalp went from being tight and coated in a sort of scale to a clean nice feeling scalp. My gra

Transmed - Experience from an Irishman

For a start im 30 years old and from Ireland . I have been losing my hair since my late teens and it was weighing heavily on my mind. Like a lot of people it slowly destroyed my self-esteem and i took to wearing hats more and more frequently til the point came where i was depending on some form of coverage all the time and freaking out if i could'nt find it. Also slowly but surely what remaining hair i had became a comb over. Other friends just shaved their heads upon impending baldness

Rogaine/Propecia/Alpecin

Hi guys, Is it safe or advisable to use Rogaine Foam, Propecia and Alpecin shampoo simultaneously? I'm reading great things about all 3 and was hoping that it would be ok to use all 3 of them at the same time but I'm concerned that it may be unsafe. I'm also wondering if any of the active ingrediants in each of them would actually end up counter acting each other, resulting in reduction of effectiveness. Can anybody please help? Thanks

Thats why Im here ... to give myself time to study the options and see whats right for me.

Day 1: HT by Dr. Alexander

From my extensive research and talking with many offices I chose Dr. Alexander and had my HT today. He not only lived up to his reputation but exceeded it. From being burned in the past I was a skeptic of the whole process and quite bitter. I was very happily surprised how much care and time they put into procedure and it was so relaxing I actually fell asleep. Everything I heard and was told by Dr. Alexander was 100% reality and many of their procedures were even better than I heard abou

Still unsure on FUE

Well its been about 2 weeks now that I attempted to contact Shapiro in Minn, and still have not heard back from there office. Im now in touch with Spex who answered my message almost instantly. Im really under debate on getting a strip procedure, First off going to work as a police officer is going to be a problem. Atleast with FUE i could take a month off and just shave my whole head and down and let it grow in. I have plenty of hair on my head that I think I could get away with it. I rea

Day 273 - nine months on

I felt as though I had made quite a bit of progress over the past month, but comparing the photos with those taken 6-7 weeks ago, they don't look much different. Admittedly I've just had quite a short hair cut, but even so... Generally though, the last month has seen slow but steady progress, notably on the left temple, which had been slower than the right. I can see a lot of fine hairs there, which hopefully will thicken. The front hairline density is still pretty disappointing though. Hopi

March 2nd 2011 - Post Day 5

Post Day 5 and no real pain at all. The donor site stings a little on occasion, but the pain meds sort that out pretty fast. Sleeping is more awkward now than painful, can't wait for the staples to be removed on Monday! Last night I shaved off all my hair! I was so sick of it looking ridiculous being all different lengths, and had always wondered what it would look like so just went for it. Afterwards I was pleasantly surprised as I thought it looked quite cool lol,... other than the Franke

My Transplant with Dr Gabel

I'm probably a Norwood 6 and have been balding for quite some time. I wil be getting a transplant next friday 3/4/2011 with Dr Steven Gabel in Portland. My goal is to rebuild my front hairline and then move back. I'm excited as I have thought about this for years. I will say there is no pressure from his office and I like that. Now on to the results show!!     PS any other thoughts on what to do to prepare for HT? Has anyone done this without meds?

25th Feb 2011 - Day of Surgery with Dr. Feller

The appointment was booked for 07:45, but due to my body clock I was awake at 04:45, and combined with my paranoia for being late, I arrived at Feller Medical at 07:00! About 35 mins later I saw Dr. Feller walking up the corridor and my anxiety started to kick in! The memories of Bosley throwing themselves into the forefront on my mind. Initial chat with Dr. Feller Within 10 minutes I was sitting in Dr. Fellers office chatting to him about my experience with Bosley and my desired results fr

My Story

So, my name is Dan, I'm 38 and from the UK. I started thinning back in '99 and was devastated as I'm sure everyone is. I had strip surgery with Bosley, NY in 2002 which was 1800 Grafts. Honestly, I wish I'd found this forum before I went ahead with that surgery! Even though the result was pretty good, and my scar is very thin (I cut my hair to grade #2.5 and it's barely noticable), the actual procedure was nothing short of a scene from one of the Saw films! The Surgeon was extremely needle ha

Day 1 after FUT

I slept the first night in an upright position and the drugs kept me still and asleep the whole night. The first morning there was some scabbing and my forehead above the headband was swollen. My visible scalp was discolored a little pinkish. I used an ice pack and it really did relieve the swelling situation. The scabs were noticeable and I hope they only lessen daily. The driver came in the morning and I was taken to the clinic for a wash and inspection. The technician washed my hair, in

Day of FUT - 15 February 2011

I had received a phone call a few days previously requesting I move my appointment from a Monday to a Tuesday. This was possible and I was informed the Chauffeur would arrive at my building at 0830. I had done my scalp exercises and was prepared to begin. I slept well and the driver was in front of my door at 0830. He was very friendly and helped me keep my mind off the upcoming FUT. Traffic was heavy, but he navigated his way to the clinic and I arrived at 0900. I signed a disclaimer, pa
